You have had good suggestions. I can only say, do something else rather than eat. You can do it, you know. You are worth it, dont listen to the snacks saying your name. Get rid of them. Take it a day at a time,

I would get rid of all of the munchies that you eat every night. If you have another member of the family that has to have it, put it in a plastic container and give it to them so you are not responsible for the Muncie food and they can put it out of sight.

When the munchies hit - have a fruit prepared. I have homemade applesauce and strawberries combined in a container in the fridge right now for my snack. With 2 tablespoons of sugar free whipped cream - 40 calories - it makes a great snack that satisfies my sweet tooth.

Prepare ahead.

drink water.

I love all the suggestions and when you feel the urge to snack, grab a pencil and paper and start writing your feelings and why you want to eat something. Have you had enough protein for dinner because that can also lead to the hungries. Also plan a special treat for the evening time, something that you wouldn't ordinarially eat. But only allow that one treat.

Distractions are a good thing, keeping busy with activity you like, or keep a snack by design in the tracker for night. Last night had popcorn but it was planned, and use to eat so much in the evening, but when I track am very aware of what I am doing which also helps me. Hang in there, it takes little steps habits take time to learn and it seems more time to unlearn.

I agree, get moving. Do something else besides eat becuase you are worth it. Everyone has times that they eat something maybe they shouldn't have. I plan my indulgences now. Like if I know I"m going to a family gathering, I exercise like crazy that morning and I snack lightly. On pizza day at work, I eat lightly in the morning and evening. If I know I'm going to have a big dinner, I save some of my calories from the day. I try to equal it out. If I do indulge, then I just add at least 10 minutes to my work out every day and that helps counteract it.

This is a battle, but for me, it will always be something I have to deal with every day, every meal. I work on it, I manage it, but I still have to deal with it.

I found that when I'm bored, or if I get upset at night, that if I have a bag of veggies already cut up and a little light vinigrette dressing, I can eat veggies and dip and get that emotion out and still eat, but not eating so many calories.

1 bite at a time = 1 choice at a time.

When I get the evening munchie attack I have a glass of water, chew gum or move. Even if it's just getting up from my chair to go to the bathroom.
The feeling will pass....Just do something ELSE...ANYTHING.
AND You ARE Worth It ! ! !

Forgive yourself. Start over again each day telling yourself the same thing. One day you will believe and not overeat. Then you'll say to yourself wow it is possible. Then keep on keeping on everyday!

Ok, so you stare at yourself in the mirror repeating to yourself that you're worth it, you're worth it, you're worth it.

That the after dinner munchies that have hit you hard aren't worth it. That you're worth so much more than that.

You try to pump yourself up as much as possible but ultimately you give in.

So now what? Now my self worth has taken another notch down, and I'm beating myself up for giving in, for being weak.

How do you break this cycle? Any suggestions? This is something I face ... regularly!

Jenn
