I always find myself inspired at the beginning of the year, but then find myself always breaking it. I have found that they just do not work for me.

I have a problem with time. I see it as an illusion. Do you think your body internally cares what day it is? That our muscles say hey it's a new year so let's work harder? I always saw this new years thing as a way of putting everything on hold in december.

Don't get me wrong. It's a great thing too. It means because we believe it, we actually try when that day arrives.. or the day after depending on what you did new years eve lol.

Wow sorry I went off course a little, or did you alrady devise from all of that my answer was "no"? :)

I'm against NY's resolutions. I think they set people up for failure because they make these promises for the sake of having a NY's resolution at all & often have no staying power.. I agree with you, Cheryl, if I decide to make a change in my life I don't wait for the New Year to change it. There's no time like the present, why wait?!?

On the flip side, I suppose that some people need that personal deadline to find motivation. Maybe once they spend weeks or months deciding that they will do it and start on THAT day it helps.. rather than just doing it.

Someone once said to me on one of my first attempts to quit smoking. "You are either a smoker or you're NOT. Pick one. There is no 'trying'".

I personal don't I guess that I just don't want to follow the crowd. emoticon

I still am not going to to any this year. When I decide I have something about myself I want to change I start right then not wait half a year.

But maybe people have a good reason to wait till then. What to you think?

Where there is a will there is a way.
