I have given up all meat and mountain dew :) I have definitely cut way back on other animal proteins like cheese and eggs also sugar because 'cancer loves sugar'

I also avoid artificial sweeteners and no fat/low fat foods. I like my food to be as natural as possible. I just eat less cheese, less sugar, or whatever, but use the real thing.

The many different books I've read about eating through cancer tend to consistently minimize the meat intake and highly increase the vegetable and some fruit intake. Since my diagnosis, I've given up artificial sugar for sure, most caffeine, and all fat free and reduced fat products. I've also given up 'diet' whatevers. No high fructose or enriched or partially hydrogenated stuff. The general rule of thumb with me is if I can't name the ingredients, or ingredients have even modified from their natural state, I don't eat it.

What have you given up foodwise because of cancer?
