Glad you had such a good holiday Jane. We stayed busy visiting all the grands at their houses. It worked out good for all of us. Have a Happy New Year.

A sense of humor keeps things in perspective for me.

Scott and I had a great Christmas here in Little America, our second Christmas on the bluff overlooking the Emiquon restoration project along the Illinois River.

Danny and Danielle, now married for 1.5 years, brought Mary and their two dogs, Jax and Clark Kent. We put our cats away in sealed off rooms because Jax is a known cat attacker. All else went well.

I fixed a turkey dinner, with dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, broccoli, julienned and sauted zucchini and carrots . . . quite a feast! We had pumpkin pie with whipped cream for dessert. It was Christmas, and I didn't log anything, but I was very aware of my choices and think I did well.

I sent the Christmas cookies home with kids. Scott and I had pumpkin pie two days in a row for breakfast, then he ate the last two pieces, saving me from the calories (which he can use)!

Mary is coming back down tomorrow to put together a gingerbread house. We made the dough on Christmas day before she headed back to Peoria.

This has been a good Christmas!

I hope all of you had had good holidays as well.
