Definitely stale - but I can never wait that long!

I like to try all the different colors, but yellow is the original and the best. I find the white ones a tad drab so I never buy them.

I still remember the shock I felt when my son confided in me that he just wasn't that into them. It totally blind sided me. Kids these days!

Do you like them fresh out of the box, or a few days stale? I love them stale, but when I need a peeps fix I inhale them anyway I can get them!! Funny... I eat them all, but my favorites are the yellow ones. Ha-ha... they're all the same, but there is something about those little yellow things!! Yummy!

I was hit by a trigger food yesterday too. I went to Rite-Aid to pick up more Alka-Seltzer Plus. I had to walk by PEEPS! OH MY I couldn't resist! I felt so badly afterwards. I know they are my weakness and I must do better. The peeps are going to be here until after Easter. OH MY!! Be Strong! Be Strong!!

You know, I really think eating with the family is one secret to healthier living. Have you ever noticed how much slower we eat when we are sitting around the table eating AND visiting?

Winky - you definitely hit a trigger food while shopping yesterday. We all have those moments. But this is not an all or none deal, it's about developing a healthier life style! One small habit at a time.

So be very Mediterranean and put the focus on the joy of getting together with your family. Practice wise food choices, and let us know how much fun you had later!

Obesity is contagious! I was walking in the store yesterday, minding my own business and had an attitude that I was going to do alot for myself to make changes and inspire my whole family and all the sudden came this warm, sweet, wiff of aroma from the bakery. My goodness you won't believe what I did, but I will be better prepared of what to do instead next time. But then I get a call from my sister she is having the family over for dinner tonight. I am going to eat before I go. That little wiff of aroma can try to knock me down again but this time I am going to fight back.

LOL!! Glad you all found the article amusing and/or interesting! I just thought that any information is good to get those 'thought process' working! LOL!! We have to investigate!

Hey, I wish just joining Spark People would've gotten me thin, too!! Just like all those other books that I own, and the gym that I now have created! It still comes down to one thing... It's up to me!

I have found that since returning to the Mediterranean way of eating .. I am feeling so much better!.
I was bought up in the Channel Islands they were only 20 miles from the French coast!! my Parentual Grandparents were from a long line of Normans.. Their main Nutrition was fish and fresh fruit (Grown by my Grandpa) and Vegetables (also grown by him) My father was Guernsey born but my Mother was a scottish lass.
between the two of them we had a very good nutritional diet!
I have always loved my fish, scallops, krill, and shrimp.
they are all the foundations of a true Mediterranean cuisine .
we made all our own bread and my Mother learnt how to make fresh butter.
I lost my way when I emigrated to Australia !! they seam to have a completely different idea on Nutrition .. Their menus are based on meat.. Particularly Beef.
Now we are retired and I have found my way back to my my way of eating I am just so much better.

Well, I don't know if Israel actually counts as Mediterranean for this purpose, but I certainly know that the same problem is relevant here, even for ethnic groups that are more indigenous (I'm just the first generation of Mediterranean-born in my family, so we probably don't really count).

Your current safe boundaries were once unknown frontiers.

It's actually a sad example of what happens when people 'westernize' their diets. I wonder if the rural areas are still more healthy than the metropolitan area's. When the original studies of the Med diet happened in the 40's the researchers stated that it was a very healthy diet but recommended more animal protein (red meat) be added into the diet. A mere 20 years later they discovered that the people were eating more meat, AND the incidence of heart disease had increased significantly. I hope that we take this to heart, and not let this happen to us in our lives and with our own eating choices.
