I live at the edge of a relatively small community outside of St. Louis. I like it here because it is quiet as a rule. There are neighbors but I seldom see them & only know them to say 'hi' to. We have a low crime rate & pretty much anything you want within a short distance. What I don't like is that there really aren't many places close enough to walk to.

I live in a relatively small town in Oregon and I enjoy knowing my neighbors seeing people I know. I love the clean air, forests, wild critters, and the lack of big city stress. Only down side is lack of some services major shopping which are over 100 miles away.

We live in the country, about ten miles from a town of 2,000, and an hour and a quarter from any city. Nearest hospital is about 25 miles away. We live on a rise over a spring-fed creek. I love the freedom from noise and bustle. I love the clean air and wildlife. I love the space.

I like the low humidity and being close enough for day trips to the mountains. I don't like living on the edge of a city and all the crime and gang activity here.

Small Town Girl, here. Close enough to nature. Home is in middle of town, so we can walk to many places if we want.
I like where my house is positioned:
Half-way up a hill, so we never get drowned out...especially important this year since we've been having such heavy rains that it ranked 4th worst flood in our town's history.

The house sits high enough on the hill that we can comfortably see the fireworks display each year without having to crane our necks. and we only have to take about 20 steps to get a good position for them.

We are also between several churches and I get to hear the church bells often throughout the day.

I like living close to the mountains, the recreation centers I can go to, and the amenities like the museums and libraries. What I don't like is it is a big city with problems big cities have like high crime rates and smog, plus there are too many restrictions. They are always coming up with something else you can't do. And the state government has gotten really bad about putting in laws that the people of the state voted against.

I live on a lake we bought when the kids were in school so we bought it a long time ago. I love to see the wildlife.
I do not like it is 15 minutes to the grocery store and about 30 to a hospital.

We're close to nature and have plenty of outdoor activities to keep us busy while still living in a small town (pop 18,000 or so) with all the amenities. We have relatively few terrible weather events and we're close to several cities. All in all, we're happy with it.

What I like most about it is I'm in the woods. and can breath. Area it is a good size town with a population of 2100. Worse thing, you are only going to get the basics in town, you make a list of what you need and go into a big city, over 10,000, about once a month, well we are hoping to get to every 2 or 3 months.

Objects in the mirror will get thinner than they now appear

What do you like best about living in the city, town or county that you live in? What do you like least about it?
