We have a dog and 2 cats. All are rescues. The dog is a 13 year old half golden retriever. The cats are a 3 year old tuxedo who was a feral kitten who showed up at our house. We trapped him and tamed him after several scratches and a bad bite to my husbands hand. Now he is a lover. The other cat is a small 2 year old grey blotched tabby that we adopted from a rescue group here. Dog loves everyone who comes and the cats hide.

I currently have one cat and one dog. My cat was a stray that was taken to Dumb Friends League and they had him at Petco's adoption center. He was the one that everyone left behind because he was 5 and had had teeth problems. They missed out. He is about the sweetest cat one could ever find, even if he is loud and demanding.

My dog was a breeder placement after 2 or 3 owners gave her back. I had just lost my last one and was asking the breeder about bloodlines and she gave Cassie to me. She is also a sweetheart that just loves people (not so normal for the breed - Australian Cattle Dog).

I have one kitty named Zack. He was a shelter kitty and it was love at first sight. He was about 6 weeks old and is now about 9 months. Frisky and happy to be with his humans.

My other pets are 7 fish. They are quiet and don't eat much. Lots of enjoyment watching them.

I have 3 pets, a cat and 2 dogs. The cat and one of the dogs are hurricane pets, they needed a new home during or right after a hurricane and their owners never came back for them. The other had been a back yard dog, untrained and unsocialized that was on his way to a shelter because the family was moving. I haven't seen a shelter around here to donate to.

I live with a cat that is about 6 years old. She was abandoned a couple of years ago & we met the first day she was up for adoption. She was so scared & it was terrible for her with all the other animals & people around. he came home to live with me & we have made so much progress. She is very close to me but is still very much afraid of other people. None of my friends have ever seen her while they have been here.

Today is National Pet Day.
April 11 is National Pet Day. While loving our pets is something we do every day, National Pet Day encourages us to pay special attention to pets who may not get that extra attention. Helping out orphaned pet companions will improve their health and improve their opportunities for adoption.

Sometimes their human companions arenít well. Making sure their forever furry friends are receiving the best of care will help relieve stress and worry.

Take supplies to those pets in shelters. Help a friend with pets who is recovering from an illness. Adopt a pet.Use #NationalPetDay on social media.

If you have a pet or pets, please tell us about them.
