I do sometimes take the grapes out of the bag and put in another bag, but it's a little iffy doing it when some worker is standing there watching what is going on. They also have those Cuties in bags or boxes and charge an arm and a leg for them. Half of them are already almost rotting, too. And you can't take part of them out of the bag. They are charged by the bag, not by the pound. Our store that keeps saying "You'll love our lower prices" now charges $5.99 for the small bag (3 lb still, I think). Stupid advertisers keep saying we'll love their low prices have fewer things on sale and the only thing that is lower priced is those on the sale flyer. Everything else has increased in price.

Susan, I had a friend whose father cooked at restaurants. My friend only knew how to cook meals for large, restaurant amounts. I can't imagine how long his leftovers lasted. Another friend made enough for her family when she cooked, but she had been widowed after her daughters married, so was alone. She wouldn't ever eat the leftovers. Some people just don't want to ever eat leftovers, no matter if the food goes to waste.

Darlene, our store also bags grapes, cherries and the like but you don't have to buy all of it. I take what I don't want out of the bag and add it to another bag and pay only what my bag (now about half a bag) weighs.

There is no damage to the fruit this way and no damage to your pocket book.

Personal goal is to weigh in 159 by the end of March 2017. I did not make my previous goal so must do better...I ACHIEVED THE GOAL OF REACHING 151 IN MAY 2013. A LOSS OF 37 POUNDS! Summer of 2014 I gained 10 pounds of it back while traveling to the BVI's and Ireland so I have set a new goal for 2017 to be back to below 155.

lol, about the 'mom' thing.

It was torture trying to get my mom fed when she lived with us. She liked boiled eggs, but not COLD eggs. So we couldn't cook them ahead of time and save us some work. Then she was on a special dialysis diet that she didn't like to follow.....and so on....

Hubby is a better, more natural cook than I am, but he tends to cook wayyyy too much, and then none of us want to eat the leftovers for the next 4 days. So it goes to waste.

And we all lived happily ever after...

I'm a single who can't get along without my animals. I never really moved out except for college. Never could afford it, even with the best job I had. So when I cooked before it was either for 2 or 3 until Mom kept refusing to eat anything. I guess I still mostly cooked for 2, but with more of an intent that I would have something for lunch the next day since I knew she wouldn't eat if I made it for her (she would go eat my leftover, though, and leave me without lunch).

Now I will cook one piece of chicken or maybe two. If a chicken breast I will cut it in thirds. I've been doing 2 baby back ribs. If I make something like chili or soup or anything that might be from a recipe I will just eat it for however many days it takes to finish it. I have trouble eating more than that, so often don't have any sides, just the meat or maybe just a salad. Sometimes a sandwich.

What is hardest is to get just the right amount of something. They have started bagging all the things like grapes and cherries here and you buy them by the bag full for however many pounds are in the bag. Half of them always go bad. Or there are times that I just can't eat something so it goes bad. I try to not get as much, but something always is in packages too much to eat.

My children both moved out then moved back, daughter expecting, son with wife, a year later 2 boys were added to the mix. By the time all of them had moved on a 6 year old grand daughter moved in and stayed for 6 years. It was hard when she went to her fathers. But it has been 5 years and now I'm Grandma, just Grandma and loving it.

Objects in the mirror will get thinner than they now appear

We have 1 in the Marines....hubby has a hard time missing him, I'm okay. We can text and such, so it's really not that big of a deal.
Our oldest daughter 23 is down in Texas.....hubby has a hard time with that since we should be protecting her. But she's in a ministry down there.
The other 7 are still home, but the next 3 have jobs and are in and out...which gets you used to the idea. #5 is moving into a trailer in my sister's property. It has a house and a trailer on it, so her son is moving into one (thus why my son is going there), and one of her daughters will be using the little house. But that same son plans on joining the Marines, so don't know how that's going to work for him. lol

I WOULD be having trouble having NO little ones in the house, since my youngest is 12, but since we babysit children ages 6, 4, and 3 with a newborn on the way, it fills my heart until the time I might be gramma material. :)

And we all lived happily ever after...

F8, I moved to another state when my older two were out of the house. I still have one child left, but I still missed them.

I moved out of state when my kids moved out. It was hard because I missed them so much.
