I don't recall caring how it was cut. My dad made the best grilled cheese sandwiches.

I liked them cut preferably on the diagonal. As a child, I left the crust. As an adult, I prefer heels or crust and leave the middle.

All three of our family meals were cooked by mom. If we wanted a sandwich in between meals which was a rarity, I would make it myself using one piece of bread and fold it over whatever I had put in as a filler.

My dad was a firm believer in eating hot meals, no sandwiches! After my brother and I started going to school we were always given the money to buy hot school lunches. I have never taken a lunch box to school.

During my school years I was of normal weight or a little less. emoticon

I never cared which way my sandwiches were cut, though I think they were always cut straight across and not diagonal. I know they were cut that way when I started working and my dad would get up and make me lunch every day. (loved that, but I got very tired of ham at the time)

I think if I left anything on the plate from a sandwich it would have been what I was too full to eat. I didn't eat a whole lot when I was a kid.

There were 6 of us children and Mom cut the sandwich the same for all of use, so we never knew how we where going to get our sandwich cut. You didn't leave anything on your plate unless you wanted it on your plate the next meal.

My step-dad made the WORST tasting sandwiches. And I think it was my grandma who cut the sandwiches diagonal. I usually didn't finish the crusts. Usually there were two tiny crust corners left on my plate.

Personal goal is to weigh in 159 by the end of March 2017. I did not make my previous goal so must do better...I ACHIEVED THE GOAL OF REACHING 151 IN MAY 2013. A LOSS OF 37 POUNDS! Summer of 2014 I gained 10 pounds of it back while traveling to the BVI's and Ireland so I have set a new goal for 2017 to be back to below 155.

I liked it cut at diagonally so it looked kind of like 2 triangles. If I had asked to have the crust off I probably would not have gotten a sandwich. Never thought to ask though. No picky eaters allowed at our house.

When you were a wee lil' tyke and ate a sandwich, did you want it cut a particular way? Also, did you leave any part on the plate? (for instance, the crust)
