My guess would be: because they like to PLAY with science instead of respecting it.
I don't like when people DO things, just because they CAN.

I guess the hormones are why I need to stay away. I had estrogen related cancer and soy contributes to that type of cancer. Bad enough I like eating Chinese food every so often. Don't need it elsewhere.

I have eaten more then my share of soy. Here my take on it soy is tasteless. Anything you taste is added. I've had good and I've had bad. Most of the good I have had has been prepared by someone. I never could get it right and mine is bad, really bad, The soy burgers you buy in the store I consider processed food and are high in salt and other things I'm trying to stay away from. Yes every once in awhile I want a burger and have one.

There are people that need to stay away from soy. I know it messes with some peoples, male and female, hormones. I also know several people with reproduction problems that have been told to stay away from soy, but I don't know if that is because of the hormone problem or not.

I know it is high in protein and since I can't eat meat I need to worry about that, but I've found enough other ways that I don't rely on so. I just count it when I have it.

I doubt if I would try it. It would be like eating a soy burger, I think, and those are not healthy for some people. Dr. Oz did have it on his show one time, though, and everyone who tried it there thought it was pretty good. At least they said they did. That was before he dedicated ALL his show to "true crime" opinions.

BTW, I like the Just Mayo because it doesn't contain soy. Problem is nobody wants to carry it around here. Every other kind they have at the regular grocery here has soy in it, even the ones that will tell you they are soy free.

I didn't know it existed, but since I can't eat meat, I would have to ask the DR if he thought I could eat it before even considering it.

I have no idea as it is something that would need further investigation on my part.

Does not sound like something I'd try ...

Jackie I'm a Halloween baby but many years ago.

5'1.5" - I shrunk from 5'4"
Summer: Minesota
Winter: Arizona (as of Dec. '08)

Personal goal is to weigh in 159 by the end of March 2017. I did not make my previous goal so must do better...I ACHIEVED THE GOAL OF REACHING 151 IN MAY 2013. A LOSS OF 37 POUNDS! Summer of 2014 I gained 10 pounds of it back while traveling to the BVI's and Ireland so I have set a new goal for 2017 to be back to below 155.

Would you eat lab grown meat?

Hampton Creek (JUST MAYO) company is working on creating lab grown meat. I know one of our members is allergic to meat and wonder if this would be a solution? Or if it would contain the same protein still making it inedible. My first instinct is no way. I'd need to know the ingredients creating the lab grown meat. I don't even like their faux mayo, so they're not off to a promising start in my opinion. =)
