We took in a baby ocelot who's mother was shot by poachers. Having had no training and before internet, we did everything wrong. Except she grew up and took bush.
Ever had a 40 pound kitten?

I don't think I ever owned one but maybe rescued one when I was a kid. If so it was not ownership and let go asap...My kids the same , if they played with an animal - I remember snakes, - they were let go in the wild were they came from.. They are not meant to be owned.

Jackie I'm a Halloween baby but many years ago.

5'1.5" - I shrunk from 5'4"
Summer: Minesota
Winter: Arizona (as of Dec. '08)

Personal goal is to weigh in 159 by the end of March 2017. I did not make my previous goal so must do better...I ACHIEVED THE GOAL OF REACHING 151 IN MAY 2013. A LOSS OF 37 POUNDS! Summer of 2014 I gained 10 pounds of it back while traveling to the BVI's and Ireland so I have set a new goal for 2017 to be back to below 155.

LOL F8, I JUST finished cleaning the litter box of our cats. My son and I always joke about how they grace us with their attention.
a friend of mine had a cat of hers stolen by someone in the neighborhood who told her she shouldn't have allowed her cat outside. But some cats just NEED to be outside. However, if a cat has been declawed, I think it would probably do better to be indoors. That's a whole other topic though isn't it?

I love the deer and other critters who visit but honestly, I don't even own my cat. She graces me with her presence and I get the honor of cleaning her box and feeding her.

My ex kept a pair of rescued raccoons for a time until they became of breeding age and got mean. Not a good idea.

Aw....I always wanted to have a bear cub. CUB.

Today we had fun with George. Our squirrel. He was just so friendly today. Even coming around while we were ripping off a hang-over above a back door.

He'd come right up and get the peanuts within a foot of us.

Just before going inside, I had been lying on a lawn recliner, on my belly, reading Northanger Abby. Out of the corner of my eye, within a foot of my shoulder, I saw the squirrel was searching me out for peanuts. I texted my hubby to send some out, as I didn't want to scare him away with my movements.
Of course he got scared away when my son brought the peanuts out. lol
Anyway, I laid the a peanut on the corner of my lounge chair right in front of my book. and before long, I felt this vibration coming through the furniture and UP peaked his little head and round black eyes. He climbed right up and grabbed that peanut, right in front of my face.
I did consider the idea that he might scratch out my eyes....but all was well.
He came back for the other one, too. :) Cute.

And we all lived happily ever after...

I remember having a small raccoon when we were kids. We kept him for a bit before Mom talked us into letting him go in the woods.
My son tried to help every stray animal he found. Birds, mice, snakes....we never did find the small red belly snake that got out of its box. emoticon

I don't think I would ever own any, unless I could find a way to make enough money to be able to afford another horse. In that case I might adopt a mustang.

My friend and I used to get turtles from the field nearby (now all houses), but they never lived. Not sure what we did wrong with them.
