I just saw this shared on Facebook. "Knowledge is knowing a tomato is fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad. Philosophy is wondering if that means ketchup is a smoothie." from The Old Farmers Almanac.

Of course, in this example, common sense says not to put the tomato in a fruit salad, too. But the knowledge and wisdom is in there and wisdom is definitely better than knowledge in this case.

hm.
And yet I think Wisdom is DIFFERENT from common sense. Everybody should have common sense, that's why they call it COMMON.

Sooo, for Bible Believers, God says that The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom'.
I don't think that works the same when replacing wisdom with common sense.
The fear of the Lord is NOT the beginning of common sense.

But anyway, I do believe Wisdom is much more important than knowledge.

And we all lived happily ever after...

Life.
It's Worth Living.
It's Worth Giving.
Choose Life.

I think wisdom ...

Jackie I'm a Halloween baby but many years ago.

5'1.5" - I shrunk from 5'4"
Summer: Minesota
Winter: Arizona (as of Dec. '08)

Personal goal is to weigh in 159 by the end of March 2017. I did not make my previous goal so must do better...I ACHIEVED THE GOAL OF REACHING 151 IN MAY 2013. A LOSS OF 37 POUNDS! Summer of 2014 I gained 10 pounds of it back while traveling to the BVI's and Ireland so I have set a new goal for 2017 to be back to below 155.

If by wisdom you mean common sense, then wisdom. I know several very intelligent people who have no common sense.

I think wisdom is more important, whether you have book learning or not. There have been people who don't have much in the way of book learning but they have wisdom or common sense that puts them in a better position than if they lack common sense.

MARYALICE I'm not sure what you mean by being on the same page. I simply asked a question and haven't given any personal opinion.

that being said, I vote wisdom ie common sense if you wish, hands down. someone can be book learned and still be an idiot in a lot of other areas.

I'm not sure you and I are on the same page. I think common sense wins most of the time. There are things you need book learning for, but if you don't mix a good dose of common sense it won't work
