Here's a tip, though I haven't tried it yet: bring you suit to the pool, get in, and change beneath the water. wa laa!

I have one and so totally do not feel comfortable it in. I'm not s swimmer so it won't be used for exercise. And we don't have a pool. Just taking up rental space in my drawer.

I have no purpose for a swimsuit. I would be dreading and would put it off until I reach my goal.

I have a couple suits I got several years ago when I was swimming at the therapeutic pool that are still in good condition as far as I know. The last one is, I know. Now if I could handle to colder water at this side of town, and getting there for the short time that they have open or lap swim, I am fine.

By that do you mean, embarrassing to WEAR and be SEEN in?

Yeah, it's tough. But really, it's not that big of a deal. For one thing, people can tell whether you're overweight just by looking at you while you're fully clothed! It's already a touchy subject. lol

I decided a few years ago, that swimming is an activity that is not only enjoyable, but it's also helpful and I wasn't about to STOP LIVING because I was overweight.
What's worse, having fun while being overweight and trying to get healthy? or being bored and unhappy and cowering while being overweight?

I say, face the world and show people that being overweight does not have to oppress you.

Not long after I began swimming, (240ish lbs), another woman also began swimming. She was probably 100 pounds or so bigger than I was. I was shocked when I saw how long she could swim. She did lap after lap after lap...had to be 2 or 3 miles worth or even more!
Her abilities caught my attention more than her weight did!

I want to be like THAT!

Since I discovered SwimandSweat.com, I'm SUPER excited about bathing suits.
I bought mine in September and it's still in great shape.

I look forward to needing to order a SMALLER size. Hopefully this summer!

Is a new swimsuit in your forecast for this year? Do you dread or look forward to buying new one?
