We freeze our own and buy commercial frozen food as well. We find canning is more economical for us due to the longer shelf life of canned foods compared to frozen.

As a child, one of my heroes was Helen Keller (though as an adult her views became very different from my own). How I admired Helen's ability to learn through all her obstacles! I never get tired of the movies which were made about her first learning to understand sign language.

As a young woman, my future mum-in-law became a hero to me. I really admire how she managed her home, how she raised her children, and what a faithful wife she had become. Her own mother died while Mum was only 15 and much of what she learned came from her OWN mother in law. If I could gain just a fraction of her skills, I'd consider myself a success.

As a mother, Susanna Wesley...a mother of many, became another hero of mine. She was the mother of John and Charles Wesley and many, many more children. What I admire is her ability to teach them, about the Bible and other academics.

New Question for March 4th.

President Trump has declared March to be National Woman's Month, applauding women throughout history who have made contributions to our world, either through the workforce or in the home.

Have there been any women whom you have particularly admired? If so, who?

And we all lived happily ever after...

My freezer is always full, but I always have room for more. I freeze every little left over - they make good lunches or a start of a creation for lunch. I also freeze full meals when I make enough for four - it is enough for two dinners for the two of us.

On Mondays I shop at my local market for meats. They have a bin for past due meats which are usually fresh as can be and marked at 50 to 75 % off. These were on the fresh meat shelves yesterday and Monday is a clearing house for them. I check them carefully then buy...'

I also have a few breads in the freezer to enjoy different grains - heated or toasted ...

Fish and shell fish too. They freeze nicely.

I don't freeze fruit because we eat it before it would get to the freezer.

I also do not can for the two of us or have a vegetable garden to store the abundance in the freezer. Oh,should mention the lemon juice I store in ice cube trays and have one each morning for each of us. We are fortunate to have an abundance of lemons in AZ. A few on our tree but friends bring up bags and bags of them to pass around at our bridge groups. I take what I can carry. Also right now I have 2 dozen oranges in my vegetable drawer from MY own tree!

Personal goal is to weigh in 159 by the end of March 2017. I did not make my previous goal so must do better...I ACHIEVED THE GOAL OF REACHING 151 IN MAY 2013. A LOSS OF 37 POUNDS! Summer of 2014 I gained 10 pounds of it back while traveling to the BVI's and Ireland so I have set a new goal for 2017 to be back to below 155.

I buy some frozen foods such as veggies and fruits. I freeze meat when I am able to buy bulk on sale. We also have a garden and fruit trees so I freeze some of our harvest from them.

I do use some commercially frozen foods. What I freeze is usually some meat, because it always comes in packages that I can't eat all of right away, or sometimes leftover soup.

frozen veggies. Hopefully I'll get a lot of my own produce from my garden to freeze this year. And I have meat from a cow in my deep freezer. Does that count?
I haven't figured out how to freeze left over food I make; it always comes out watery.

I do use frozen foods like fruit & veggies. I make my own frozen dinners by making recipes for four & then freezing some of them.

March is National Frozen Foods Month. Do you make use of commercially frozen foods? Do you freeze your own foods?
