Darlene, lol, I"M the extra shopper, actually.

My husband usually takes care of the shopping.
My 21 yr old son picks up items every Monday after work. (I shopped on Tuesday and should have thought of that.)
And three others purchase some items just for themselves.

It's gotten to be where they keep their own basket or drawer in the fridges just so we can keep them straight!

And we all lived happily ever after...

Thank you. I just thought I needed to soften it and mix the olive oil in.

Darlene, I had a chef tell me to freeze the butter then use a greater to read the butter then it will mix into whatever you are making better.

Susan, I think you have too many shoppers in your house. I am always forgetting what I went shopping for, too. I've gone back several times after I got home from the store. Then I actually remembered what I needed yesterday and the coupons aren't good for it until Saturday. I hope I can remember it Saturday. I need the spreadable butter. I have been trying to make my own, but the butter won't get soft enough for me to mix it right.

I forgot that I use the coffee maker most of the time. I don't make coffee, I mostly just use it to heat water for tea. Now I find I can't really drink the herbal teas. At least, I think that is what I had trouble with last night since it came back when I drank more tea. I can't really have the licorice root that is in most of them. So I have to really check the ingredients now. I suppose I should check whatever ingredients are in any of them and make sure they don't have the side effects that licorice root has.I think the other kinds are okay, though.

I have seen the ads for the air fryers, but never have checked them out. Half the TV channels I can get are infomercials only. The others are half of the time. Can't understand why they have 5-7 channels owned by the same network and half of them infomercial channels and they still have to have half the time on the regular ones be infomercials.

an air fryer? I've never heard of that before. I'm going to research them. I like to make lumpia and don't have it very often, because they need to be fried. I've tried baking them, and meh, they just aren't as good. But fried foods generally give me a stomachache, so I avoid them. (except my annual lumpia of course)

For Christmas a year ago, I got my husband an air fryer. We both love it! it has cut the grease in most foods, and makes very tasty dishes.

Personal goal is to weigh in 159 by the end of March 2017. I did not make my previous goal so must do better...I ACHIEVED THE GOAL OF REACHING 151 IN MAY 2013. A LOSS OF 37 POUNDS! Summer of 2014 I gained 10 pounds of it back while traveling to the BVI's and Ireland so I have set a new goal for 2017 to be back to below 155.

hm, I use the microwave regularly for practically everything.

When we first bought this house and designed the kitchen I wanted a coffee bar type thing that included an electric pot to keep water hot for my hot cocoa. We never got it...until now.
I was at Aldi's the other day and saw an electric ceramic kettle, blue and white. The cutest thing!

BUT, it was $20 + dollars and I didn't have the money.

I mentioned it to my husband and he said to go ahead and buy it. YEA!!!
So...and here's a story, so sit down,

I went back to Aldi's the next day, after dropping my son off at work.
I planned to get the ceramic pot, some hamburger buns because my two youngest girls were making hamburgers and I wasn't sure if we had enough buns.
And one more thing. Something simple that I wanted to grab while I was out, but not a necessity.
So I go to the store, and I see MILK. I grabbed a gallon of whole, and a gallon of 2% for myself. Then I grabbed some greek yogurt. Then I grabbed some butter because I knew we were scraping the tub. Then I grabbed some grapes. Then I grabbed the hamburger buns. Then I discovered that the ceramic pot was still there, so I grabbed it, (with a smile on my face the whole time.)

As I was walking to the line I thought, "Ohhh, ummm...what was that LITTLE thing that I wanted to get? hmmmmm...mannnnnn....what was it. I know it wasn't important, but still, I wanted it....what was it?"

My mind was blank so I gave up and checked out.
I didn't by any bags, and then I discovered that there wasn't even any cardboard boxes to load things in, so I had to individually load the items into the van (and thus into the house).

When I got home, the only kid home, my 15 yr old son, helped me bring the stuff inside.

As we unloaded, I showed my son the ceramic kettle and gave a little squeal. "Isn't it CUTE?!" I asked. "I've been wanting one of these since 2012."

He nodded and asked, "Did you buy the hot cocoa?"

SCREAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!
emoticon

THAT was what I couldn't remember! Aw man!!! I was crushed. It was the perfect day for a hot cocoa, nice and snowy and chilly and SUSANski forgets the hot cocoa. :(

Then I was putting the 2 gallons of milk away and discover that there were already THREE gallons in the fridge!

Then I went to put the BUTTER away and discovered that someone ELSE had bought some already.

lol
What a moment!

I enjoy kitchen gadgets I gave away most of them when I moved to the apartment. I still have microwave, toaster, convection oven, k-cup machine I use for tea, small blender for protein shake and my most valuable Crock pot. I use them at least once a week

Might be a tie between the Keurig and the microwave? The Keurig at least six times a day and the microwave three to twelve times a day. That reminds me, I just came in from shoveling and scraping and it's coffee time!

I go through cycles: it used to be the toast, but I've been eating less bread. So now my juicer is getting used more. The tea kettle probably gets the most useage. But I did just get a keurig and I like I can make single cups of loose leaf tea.

My toaster oven - hands down! I have worn out four or five of them over the years. I always get the large size as I can put everything from pizzas to a dozen muffins into it at one time. Many years ago I moved into a house in which the oven did not work. It took me a year to replace that stove and the only oven I had was my toaster oven. I bought my daughter one when she moved into her own place (when microwaves were just becoming popular) and she thought I was nuts. After 6 months she admitted she also found it the most useful small appliance she had. She's now 39 years old and still says the same thing.

Other than the stove or refrigerator, what kitchen appliance do you use the most? How often?
