When I had to make an extra pan of them, I used water, added a bit of butter and some chicken seasoning. Brought it to a boil and dropped the dough right onto the boiling water. It was fine.

And we all lived happily ever after...

Not pasta, biscuit dough. Bisquick works great...just add more milk than you would for Bisquick, so it's a bit drippier. Then spoon onto boiling stew or soup for 10 minutes without the lid, then 10 minutes WITH the lid.
No seasoning. Real fluffy.

And we all lived happily ever after...

Are your dumplings pasta-like? My Dad used to make chicken and dumplings kind of similar to yours (at least sometimes with some veggies if I remember right), but for dumplings he used biscuits. I never can get it to come out right, though. I don't know what kind of seasoning he put in it.

Mmmm... made dumpling stew yesterday. A favorite.
This time it was with chicken. Add potatoes, carrots, peas and then large, fluffy dumplings on top! We never have a enough room for the whole family to have dumplings, so I had to make up another quick panful for the late-comers (those family members who work later hours).

And we all lived happily ever after...

I made chicken and vegetable soup Tuesday because I have a cold and I'm hoping it will help. I just threw stuff in there and included onions, garlic, thyme, oregano, pepper. I might add more pepper, I don't know. I never use a recipe for that and hadn't made it for a couple years. I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but it is pretty good.

homemade, always homemade. favorite would be a vegetable soup I created for my son. It started out as a tweaked corn chowder, (because we don't do dairy), and it morphed into a vegetable soup with zucchini, squash, carrots, celery, corn, potatoes and loads of seasonings.

Don't have much of an opinion.

I did discover putting DUMPLINGS in Tomato Soup. I would never have thought of that on my own. (love love love DUMPLINGS....NOT the little flat ones.)

If we waited for cold weather to eat these things, we might get them once a year. It is always weather for soup and chili. I like bean soup, 15 bean is my favorite. DH likes vegetable soup and we both like vegetable chili.

Homemade soups I like potato, ham and cheese; green chili; tortilla soup. I tried something else on Spark that was a creamy chicken, but I don't remember what kind it was. I think it was a spicy Thai. It would have been really good, but I didn't set the crock pot right so it couldn't be eaten. I also like Kent's clam chowder, but he only makes it once a year so I don't get much of it.

If it's canned I like tomato basil or a mix of tomato and chicken noodle. Or I will mix tuna in with cream of mushroom like we did for tuna casserole.

We love chili, especially when the kids come over...I like all sorts of soups, lots with chicken scraps and a favorite for dinners for both of us is homemade green pea soup. One of the best canned soups we both like for a dinner is clam chowder...

Personal goal is to weigh in 159 by the end of March 2017. I did not make my previous goal so must do better...I ACHIEVED THE GOAL OF REACHING 151 IN MAY 2013. A LOSS OF 37 POUNDS! Summer of 2014 I gained 10 pounds of it back while traveling to the BVI's and Ireland so I have set a new goal for 2017 to be back to below 155.

I love making homemade soups. I make big batches and freeze, so I have quick lunches ready. I make so many different kind, I canít pick a favorite. I also make vegetable broth with scraps of veggies. When veggies are close to the end I freeze and when I have enough I make a pot of vegetable broth. Soup is always a good ďclean out the fridgeĒ meal
