I still have a few things to put away. I leave the cards up for awhile, especially those that contain photos of family.

I think it's important to express excitement over the holidays. We don't want to fall into a rut and have nothing cheerful to look forward to. This year, our family is missing my mother, father, uncle, cousin, 2nd cousin and I just might be missing someone. If any year would be a year to skip, it would be THIS year.
But I refused to NOT show excitement. We all put our chins up and braved on.

When we get older, we seem to think we have less reason to do such things. But I don't want to 'stop living' or 'laughing' as my family life goes through changes.
When someone goes past my house and sees something warm, loving, cheery, bright...I want that to lift their spirits and increase hope in their heart for another day, week, month or year.
I want my home to bring GOOD thoughts when people go by.
(thus my desire to paint the house this year! haha)

As for your question, LOL...
Mine are still up. I gave my boys some warning that I was about ready to have them bring our empty boxes down from the attic, but my technique is to build them up to it. lol

Have a VERY WONDERFUL JANUARY WEEKEND. For some reason, this winter is making me very cheery...and it's NOT because of my usual 'spring is next' viewpoint. I'm just very happy to live in The Moment.
Be Blessed!

I have Christmas cards and nutcrackers out that need putting away. They would have been put away the first, but I was sick. So tomorrow it will be one of my chores.

The only thing we had up was a bow and some bells on the front door...since we are new empty nesters it was hard to get in the mood of the holiday to put things up.

I don't put up a tree but do have Christmas stuff around...Favorite is a plaster of paris crech from the 40's, a few special cards I've received over the years, a few sprays and ornaments decorating tables and sideboards...a bow on the door... I still have the crech up and everything else put away...

Personal goal is to weigh in 159 by the end of March 2017. I did not make my previous goal so must do better...I ACHIEVED THE GOAL OF REACHING 151 IN MAY 2013. A LOSS OF 37 POUNDS! Summer of 2014 I gained 10 pounds of it back while traveling to the BVI's and Ireland so I have set a new goal for 2017 to be back to below 155.

I just leave my little tree up all the time. It is only about 3 ft tall and sits on an end table where it is hard to get to. I didn't put anything else up. Usually put up a wreath.

My Christmas elf puts them up and takes them down, so I don't get involved. It would appear that my elf is slacking this year since they're still there. Maybe the MLK weekend?

Ours are still up. Our family tradition has been to take them down after Epiphany, which is also the last of the 12 Days of Christmas. It falls on January 6, so ours will come down this weekend. Also, we usually put them up within a few days of Christmas, so they are not up as long as many other people have them.

My house is small so after 3 weeks it was time. Everything came down last weekend and was put up in the rafters until next year.

This was easy for me since I didn't put any up this year. Thought about it numerous times, but just couldn't make it.

Have you taken all of your Christmas decorations down yet? If not, when do you plan of doing that?
