I don't have any stamps to send cards. I hand them to people here and usually call my relatives who are all in other states.

Scrapperflo,
It would be cool to draw pictures and tape candy to them. Like a candy cane for Santa's cane. Licorice for curved doorways or tree branches. THEN the kids will remember your cards! :)

I remember a lonnnnnnnnnng time ago, my paternal grandma (who wasn't the lovey dovey kind) came over for Christmas one year. She gave me a book that was PERSONALIZED with MY name in it!!!! OHHH BOYYY! I was sooooo shocked to see MY name in a published book.
It was soo cool to me.

That was before internet when you couldn't just order customized things so easily. ;) Remember those days?

And we all lived happily ever after...

Most of mine go in the Post Office mail, a few by e-mail. I finally bought cards yesterday and hope to start addressing them over the weekend. We have been involved in Hubby's chemo treatments most of this week - didn't get home until 4:30 this afternoon. I do all the driving, 60 miles round trip each day, so I'm pretty tired by now. I like getting those cards because it is the only time I get any contact with my adopted family.

I am currently making cards for my great-grandchildren (6) and inserting a little treat in each card. I do not get to see them them very often and they probably won't care about card but hopefully the little treat will excite them for a bit. they range from 1 yr to 7 yrs. old. I realize that the younger ones won't even know who I am but I feel better just doing this little thing for them.
My family has been split for a few years and it pains me very much, but I'm trying to find some christmas spirit in doing this.

I exchange cards with friends out of state or those I don't see often. It used to be the "older folks" but now that is me :)

I usually write a poem in the shape of a Christmas Tree with a brief review of the past year. Last year I missed when my DH was ill but now he is well - so happy to report it. This is on my to do list this week, but here I am typing what I'm gonna do...

I do keep photos and letters (if there is any news in them) of friends. Also a file of Sent and Received cards and gifts.

Jackie I'm a Halloween baby but many years ago.

Personal goal is to weigh in 159 by the end of March 2017. I did not make my previous goal so must do better...I ACHIEVED THE GOAL OF REACHING 151 IN MAY 2013. A LOSS OF 37 POUNDS! Summer of 2014 I gained 10 pounds of it back while traveling to the BVI's and Ireland so I have set a new goal for 2017 to be back to below 155.

If you have children or grand-children, you can use the old cards for a craft project. After the holidays pass you can save them for future art projects and have the kids cut out the pictures on them and glue to whatever they want to make.

Once I even cut the pretty parts up and filled a jar with them and tied a ribbon around it. Makes a cute glittery holiday decoration.

And we all lived happily ever after...

I buy cards and snail mail them. Sometimes I include letters for what we've been up to for the year with a few photos. My Christmas card list has become shorter through the years though, because not many reciprocate. emoticon

I have mailed a few so far, but have a few more to mail. I save the cards and the ones with the pictures get put in a photo album. emoticon

Oh I LOVE LOVE LOVE getting Christmas Cards. What a special way to know that someone is remembering you! And Cards in the mail are such a nice surprise compared to junk mail and bills.

So many of the folks that used to send cards out are deceased now. That makes me miss them.

I haven't always sent them out, because money has been tight. But that is certainly my goal.
I prefer to make them. Often writing poems.

You're getting me all excited to work on some!

Don't send the cards in the mail.

Do you send out Christmas cards? If so, have you mailed them yet? Do you buy your cards or do you make them?
