Kimberly, my oldest son LOVES Claussen pickles. When he's visiting he usually asks me to pick up a small jar for him. emoticon

Thanks, NITEMAND!

That does look good! We are a family of picky eaters so I will probably try this out a Christmas when there will be more people to sample it.

Looking forward to it!

Thanks again!

Kimberly, I'll bet this would change your mind if you like Bavarian food. I want to try coming up with a de-salted and lower calorie version. A local restaurant serves this or at least they did the last time I was there years ago. One of my favorites. I think they also included some kind of relish as well as the dill pickle:

I like Claussen pickles. I eat them alone.

Generally, I don't like pickles in or on my food. There are only a few exceptions.

I like sweet pickles but rarely eat them. I keep a jar of pickle relish on hand to add to egg salad.

I like sweet pickles, mainly mini gherkins, but I don't have them very often. We used to have bread and butter pickles on things like hamburgers rather than dill. I just can't stand dill.

I use to eat dill pickles all the time then the DR put me on a salt free diet. So I quit, a little bit ago I tried one again and all I could taste was salt.

Hubby canned some a couple years ago.

Worst thing in the world is a pickle on a hamburger that's grown warm. ICK! (Okay, maybe not the WORST thing in the world, but pretty bad. lol)

growing up I LOVED dill pickles and couldn't eat enough. When my dad had a side job of a short order cook my mom would take me to his job as she drove to her job and I'd hang out until his shift ended. I would go in the frig and take some sliced dill piickles. The waitresses would give me pie, but I really preferred the pickles. LOL

I haven't made my own pickles, yet.

I love all sorts of pickles, but the sodium content makes them mostly off limits. There are lots of no sodium added varieties that are just too expensive, so I usually just pass on pickles these days.

Dill pickles in potato salad and on burgers. That's about it.

I love pickles, all kinds. Recently I received a jar of lime dill pickles. I was unsure if I would like them. I surely did. I also love regular dills, bread & butter, sweet. If there are other kinds, I would probably like them.
When a pickle jar no longer has pickles, I sometimes drink the brine.
I wonder what that makes of me! emoticon

I do like pickles but don't seem to eat them very often. I have made several different types of pickles back when I had a garden & the space for canning.

Today is National Pickle Day. Do you eat pickles? What is your favorite kind? Have you ever made your own pickles?
