Hi everyone,
My weekend (the last two days) we're okay for me. I got in a walk today, but didn't do much of anything yestarday. I also did alot of housework today. Not really counting that as exercise though it wasn't strenous housework. When I have to go up and down my three flights of stairs to the basement that's when I count that. Hope everyone is having a great week. Tomorrow is my Monday.

Hi ladies,
I had the first day of my two-day math workshop.Today was rather dull, but tomorrow should be more interesting. I had lunch at the diner. Not the best choice, but I did track my food and I am adjusting accordingly. My new dance dvd came so I will try and burn off some calories.

Breakingout, I understand just how you feel. I don't want the pressure and feeling like people are watching & judging my food choices. I already feel that way being overweight. I also don't need people asking "Are you still on a diet?" Besides, I have had so many starts & stops, I am just too embarrassed to even bring it up.

I like the idea of telling people you're focusing on trying to change your lifestyle.

For me, I would feel most comfortable being direct and honest, "I'm sorry I don't really like discussing this stuff with anyone." That way they don't ask again in the future.

I have my weekly weigh in today - and I have my fingers crossed.

COCOONGIRL asked about telling everyone at work about trying to lose weight. Mostly everything I read says "tell" - then expect to be held accountable - thereby sticking to it so you don't have to admit publicly failure. I know this extra support and accountability works for many people, but it just doesn't cut it for me. I'm an emotional eater to begin with, so when someone wants to encourage me by asking how I'm doing on my diet, I become embarrassed, or frustrated, since this is my lifestyle, not a "diet" and want to go hide in a closet and eat a whole bag of cookies. My reaction is basically the same when someone asks how much I've lost now. I just want to scream, "none of your business," and walk away. I know this is MY attitude issue, but I have become accustomed to it, so I've chosen to say nothing to any but a very select few. Even then, I'm explaining that I'm not dieting, I'm learning to live healthier. Now whenever someone comments about my weight loss, I respond with, "yea, I've lost a little." This seems to close the conversation so we can move on to other, more comfortable topics.

Please don't take this as general advice, it just made me reflect on how I deal Have a wonderful week everyone, enjoy every healthy choice, and learn from each unhealthy one. Continue moving forward!

slowly but no quitting. Mindful eating is still a challenge. idid well at a few things at work. i am work on savoring snacks/treats. i find i have to stop myself and think before acting: a real struggle involving stupid comments coming out of my mout h and too much food going in.

hi everyone... the weekend was rough for me when it came to eating healthily. as a result, (i think) i felt extra sluggish and down today. but luckily I really concentrated on eating well today (lots of fruits and veggies) and I am feeling much better now. I think tomorrow will be better as a result! :)

Hello all hope everyone is doing o.k.

The weatherman says it will be 106 today so I got my walk early this morning. Hubby wanted to walk with me today so we did not go as far as I usely do. We did do a mile to the store and picked up fresh made salads to have for lunch. I love salad in the summer. Dinner will be easy tonight as hubby wants pancakes, he has been asking for this for about a week so I am giving in. I have lite surup so it won't be to bad, also lite I can't belive it's not butter.

Good Monday to all!
Well yesterday I went to the pool where I generally just splash around and then sit & read. I decided that I need to move more so a wore my pedometer & walk around the olympic size pool while I listen to my IPod. Then I took off my pedometer and got in and did some arm exercises using the water as resistance. After sitting an reading I decided to put my pedometer back on as I strolled around talking to people......well, I forgot to take it off when I decided to go back in the pool!! YIKES!!! Fortunately I have a back up pedometer....the one I bought for my husband but he never uses!

I am filling up my calendar with activities as the summer winds down & returning to work looms in my future. Unfortunately, there are a lot of meals with friends. I am meeting one for dinner & then we are going to see the movie Hope Springs. We are eating at Atlanta Bread which is a chain, so I am going to look at the website so I can plan ahead. I ordered a new dance/exercise dvd. I can't wait until it comes! Well I've been Sparking for a coupe of hours now so I should get up and move.

Helo all, hope everyone is doig fine,

Today is my weigh in day and i did not want to weigh i as this is my timeof month and i gan water weight like crazy. Well i got on that scale and it had not gone up it was the same as last week. so I am happ,i know next week that scale will really go down.

hi all! i really can identify withe the couch potato! specially today, all i have wanted to do is watch the olympics and nap!lol i do better if i talk to my friends and co-workers, they are all supportive and it seems to help me to be a little accountable, sometimes i fall off anyway and that is embarrasing, but i am more likely to pick myself up and get back on track if i have someone to say "come on now, you can do this!"

cocoongirl - Sounds like a good plan

I also used to be on here, but I'd like to think I'm back for good. I like the idea of 1/2 lb a week as a goal. I do so well during the week and the weekends I blow it, but maybe if I try to just eat a little bit less consistently I will lose all the weight.

Hi everyone...I am starting fresh today....I was on here a long time ago and lost 40 pounds...I have slowly gone backward and gained it all back again....darn it!! But I am starting today to get myself back on track...I am going to pick some small goals for the week and post them where I can see them everyday...I am struggling with myself to decide if I want to tell everyone at work or if I just want to start and tell people later....what do you think?

Hubby was giving me a bad time about how much I spend on food, but after his nice lunch he said I was doing a good job. He is trying to lose weight to and doesn't see that healthier foods some times cost more but it is worth it in the long run.

I have not been posting because it is so hot in my home office but got the ceiling fan working again and it is liveable, still hot but i can take the sweat. maybe i will lose a little water weight HAHA

Good Morning. I'm washing clothes this morning and have cleaning house best I can. It's going to be a chore folding the clothes when dry but at least I can do it. Maybe not quite as neatly but it gets done.
I see the ORTHO surgeon tomorrow and he'll tell me how my wrist is doing. I'll let you know what he says.

Alrighty...time to chime in. Apparently, I am brilliant at maintaining my weight! So brilliant in fact, that my weight has been within 2 lbs of 151 for 3 months! Problem is, my goal weight is 145. Time to really dig in and make this happen. In 28 weeks, I have lost approximately 18 lbs....about 2/3 lb per week average. Talk about a slow loser!

So, you guys....how about a little "HEY Rebecca! You can do it! Try a week of real hard core stick tuitiveness and you'll see some great progress. You'll get there!!!"

Going to be a busy day for us today. We go pay mid month bills and buy groceries for the rest of the month today. Also have to drop off a slew of library books and go to the post office to mail off my son's birthday present. Probably eat lunch out and will use gift card to Cracker Barrel (landlord gave it to me after breaking my wrist) for dinner tonight.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day. I'll get in about 4 hours walking today so plenty of exercise.

I'm just following the paperwork I was given before leaving the hospital. And it said to clean the area with warm soapy water then dry it and re-wrap it to keep it clean. So if I'm doing something I'm not supposed to be doing, then they need to change their paperwork.

I'm so sorry you're in pain. That surgery was a big one.
That was a bad fall alright. I'm surprise you can wet it. When I had a carpel tunnel surgery, I wasn't allowed to wet the incision and that was nothing compared to your surgery.

I'm not looking forward to having staples taken out. Makes me a little sick thinking about it.
Right now it's difficult even trying to worry about diet and exercise. It's difficult enough just doing every day things. I'm eating more carbs than I like but it's easier for me to handle than having to cook and prepare foods that require forks and knives.

WELL, IF YOU'VE BEEN READING MY BLOGS YOU KNOW I HAD SURGERY ON MY WRIST AND ENDED UP WITH 3 PLATES AND 8 SCREWS IN MY WRIST. ALSO WAS IN THE HOSPITAL OVERNIGHT. IT'S BEEN A ROUGH FEW DAYS BUT MY WRIST IS DOING BETTER. ONCE THE SWELLING GOES DOWN MORE I'LL BE HAPPIER. BUT IT COULD HAVE BEEN A LOT WORSE. I CAN USE MY HAND A TINY BIT AS LONG AS IT'S NOTHING HEAVY. TOOK EVERYTHING OFF OF IT SO I COULD FINALLY WASH IT AND CLEAN IT UP. PUT THE WRAPS BACK ON A LITTLE LOOSIER SO THE SWELLING WILL GO DOWN A LITTLE FASTER. ONE AREA HAS 12 STAPLES AND THE OTHER AREA HAS 8 STAPLES. I KNOW IT WON'T BE ANY FUN WHEN THOSE COME OUT.
HOPE EVERYONE IS HAVING A GOOD SUNDAY.

hi in ohio on a trip. after lunch i will try to go to the zoo. or take a ride on the river.
connection is slow. very nice hotel. but they charge for the internet. downstairs is free, but not a good connection. very hard to track food. but doing my best. emoticon ss
yesterday got in the pool for a short time. today biked for 10, treadmill for10, may use the pool later.

It's been a busy few days. Thursday I spent the day with a bunch of my friends, Yesterday I took my dad to my brother's house for the weekend. He lives about an hour away. I spent the day there. Today we have a BBQ. All good times, but challenging for my eating. Not perfect , but I am making progress.

Laurance, RIght On! We are slow!

Kathryn, isn't it great to have a supportive husband? The one thing that bugs me though is when I ask DH what he would like for his lunch bucket or for supper, he has very few ideas. He says he'll eat whatever I give him. Sometimes, I'll just ask him if he likes what I've made well enough for me to make it again.

Speaking of making it again, we really liked the baked talipia recipe here on Spark. We will make it again -- when it gets a little cooler!

Hello all I hope everyone had a nice day and a great weekend
I am going to make some small changes in the way I eat and hope that helps
I am going to eat more vegetables and lighter dinners, told hubby about that today and as he has started eating like me and losing weight he is on board for what ever I do
