Over the years I've found out that within me there are good intentions ,but the ability to follow through on my own is not there. So I've enlisted the help of a higher power ..God my savour and friend , since that day every thing has changed. I only eat what and when I need to,things are going great as the master is in control of my life.
"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able ; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it (1 Cor. 10: 13)

I know that I'm not doing as well as I could and that at times I'm just doing a half hearted effort. I want to lose and want to feel better.. but at the same time, I'm tired of the constant fighting with my weight. I need to get in the correct mindframe and put on my big girl panties and do it!

** Change is like walking an uphill, rocky road: you will stumble, you will fall. You may even roll downhill a bit. You will be tempted to stay down. You'll ask yourself "why bother"? But, if you pick yourself up and just keep pushing forward, eventually you'll get to the top and have a beautiful view! **

my uncle told me once that there was "honesty" and then there was "absolute honesty" ....
in reading the OP's thoughts/feelings and those of subsequent Sparkers, i had to think about my desires and what i will plan to accomplish them & then really look deep into my heart to see if i'm doing what it takes or just "putting whitewash on the fence". Cheryl .... thanks for starting this thread AND gratz on joining a challenge! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() MARIE

I think we need a new club
In my head I knew I wasnt alone in my heart I felt it was just me Thanks my new SP friends for making me feel surrounded with support I am doing the spring challenge for the second time in addition to my normal workouts I still haven't decided on a nutriton plan. I may just try to eat exactly what Spark plan says...I have not done that yet! Carve out what is most important to you first, then allocate your day to others! I promise you and they will be better for this decision!!

I think you and I am in the same boat, Cheryl. I have been on a plateau since Oct. and the changes I have made haven't made a difference. BUT I haven't gained either. II always say that I am letting my skin catch up with my weight loss:):)D The site has upped my calorie range again and it has only made it more difficult for me so I am still hanging where I was. Good luck in breaking that plateau!!

Nice to know I'm not alone. I'm having the same struggles. No weight loss since November. Lots of small changes which I thought would add up to see some progress, but I guess nothing has been significant enough to cause the weight to come off. I'm with all of you...Time to Really Get Focused.

![]() My daughter told me that its like 20 percent physical (exercise) and 80 percent diet (food choices). Guess that's why I'm having such a hard time cuz I try to exercise alot so that I can eat what I want and that's just not the way it works. I am doing better now, thank goodness!

time for honesty indeed ... I know what is causing MY plateau, and it has everything to do with me thinking I can have more snacks because of my increased workout routine ... WRONG ... now I just need to practice more push-aways again and I'll be back on track.

It is hard when you plateau. That is when you have to change diet and exercise. It is so frustrating

I can totally relate to this. I never quite reached my goal weight. Hit a certain point and then just hovered around there. I think I needed to take a bit of a break from all this, and now I am motivated again. I am really trying to get anything "white" out of my diet - white bread, white rice and popcorn. I actually feel lousy after eating them and don't know why I keep doing it. I think my body has been trying to tell me something, and I just didn't want to listen. Now I think I'm ready. Best of luck to you!!

Me too. Fighting for the last 10lbs for months & months. i lose a lb, gain 2, lose 2, gain 1; same 3-5 lbs every month; over and over. I do really well with food and exercise and then when i don't see any results i get discouraged. Will keep up the hard work but then get hungry... Do well all day with portions, foods, etc. but when i get home, after the gym, i am starving. by the time i have dinner i'm still not satisfied so have some of my favorite... POPcorn and before you know it the entire bowl is gone and my calories have exceeded and i feel like i sabotaged myself. I'm really getting tired of this loop. Tired of working this hard to maintain. Not that maintenance is bad, but not ready to maintain yet. I'd be happy with a 1/2 lb a week but nope... nothing i seem to do works which only stresses me out more. Thinnest i've ever been in my entire life and honestly feel like more of a failure now then when i was heavy.

I am so with you on this! I'm finally back from our vacation. Moved to our new place. I'm ready to get serious. I want to get 10 more lbs off before the end of the summer. Time to kick in some new exercise time and watch the portions! Lets do it!!!
Thanks,

I have been in the same 3-5 pound range since November
I can't seem to lose any weight...the good news is I am not gaining I know in my heart it is time for a nutrition change. I am not consistent with portion and I have foods I should not.... when my action catches up with my desires I will create a plan that will get me moving towards the loss of the next 10 pounds. Carve out what is most important to you first, then allocate your day to others! I promise you and they will be better for this decision!!
