NC... it is also a must... every room. I've never thought to be thankful for ceiling fans, but I can see now that the fans are one more blessing.

Honey, we couldn't survive too well here in coastal NC without those ceiling fans and air conditioning unit. Actually we have a heat pump that supplies not only cool air but our heat in the winter a concept I had to adapt to after living the majority of my younger years up north in MA.

I believe the only rooms in our place that DON'T have ceiling fans is 1 main room where my computer actually is. emoticon and the bathrooms.

My house did/does have several ceiling fans in addition to central air.
But.
I sold the house to my younger son 1.5 years ago.
So. No. I don't have any ceiling fans now. Grrr. :)

If allowed to install one here, I'd have done it. Wouldn't need to run the a/c as much! While this apt has central air, it could use the boost from celing fans for better cooling.
Ceiling fans cool the whole room/s with the all-over movement of air; in addition to other bonus points, that means that you don't need to set the a/c as low if you use both.

We live in southern Arizona and we have ceiling fans in all rooms except the bathrooms - there's even one in the kitchen. We also have central air conditioning, but we don't have to use it that much because the fans move the air around all the time & we feel cooler.

Having the ceiling fans keeps our electric bill lower in the summer because we don't have to use the a/c so much - or for as long a time.

We also have programmable thermostats so we save more money. We set the a/c to 80 at night - with the fans, that's comfortable. During the day, the temp is set to 78 if we're home, 80 if we're not.

We have a ceiling fan in our living room and are looking at putting one in our bedroom, office and guest bedroom because of the way the air circulates in our home. We have central air, but live in a trailor, so our master bedroom, which is RIGHT by the cooling/heating units is SUPER cold in the summer and SUPER hot in the winter, while the office, which is at the other end of the house, is either SUPER hot in the summer or SUPER cold in the winter. Ceiling fans would help regulate temperatures at each end of the house.

One ceiling fan - and wished I had more - and used a lot. Helps with circulation even with the air on.

Have an older condo and the electricity would have to be pulled and fished. Horribly expensive.

I'll need to sit down when the electric bill comes. Wisconsin has set records too.

Sure DO use our A/C though -- today's high is supposed to be 99 with humidity in the 90%'s (right now it's 81 degrees with 82% humidity -- the "low" overnight was 77).... And NO I do NOT want to see our next electric bill!! YIKES!! emoticon

Living in Florida, they're practically a standard feature. We have one in each room, so 5 in total.

Take Care,

No. I don't have any ceiling fans and neither does the house I work in. I have A/C in my bedroom, and the house I work in has A/C in every room except the kitchen and bathrooms.

Our house has 5 - one in each bedroom, in the living room and in the kitchen (the LR and K are actually all one room but each section has one.) They REALLY help with circulation - we've been keeping the central air on 78 and staying quite comfy.

Yes!

We have 2 downstairs to circulate hot air down and cool air up. I wish we could put some upstairs, it's always so hot up there.

We don't have any ceiling fans but we have central air conditioning so we keep cool. I love the ceiling fans though and have always wanted one above my bed!

It is not warm enough here any part of the year for ceiling fans.....lol

Having said that though...if we can find a fire that we like we may put one in as we have open plan and the heat goes up the stairs....may put a fan in to push the heat back down stairs....

Many areas of the world are now experiencing extreme heat. Does your house have ceiling fans? How many?
