Hello Everyone,

Ok, so I had planned a nice healthy dinner (Oriental Chicken, Baked Potato and a Vege) and then I went to turn the propane on, it turned out that the X had left it on since Saturday and there was none left. So... He took us out to Thai food, It was really good, but not as healthy as my dinner would have been, so toinght will be Oriental chicken since I am on my way out the door to get the tank filled.

I did 47 minutes on my Wii today. I sure wish some of this hard work would show up on the scale !!!!

Happy Tuesday! Just checking in to say Hello and be accountable. I walked 3 miles today and went to curves this morning. Its suppose to rain this afternoon and I didn't want to use rain as as an excuse not to walk. Have a Great Day everyone!

emoticon Just checking in to say Happy Monday. I'm going out to dinner tonight and I'm planning what I'm going to eat ahead of time so I'm not swayed by my friend's choices. Worked out at Curves this morning and walked 2 miles today. Got a pedometer so that is helping to add steps to my day too. I've been trying to park at the stores far away to add steps to my trip.

Dalai-Lala – Yes ! That is the attitude! What wonderful health changes you have made in two years. Woohoo!
Rayne – Ummmm – I think you had a Big workout Saturday! Clearing out that garage was a lot of physical work!

I’ve lost just under 7 pounds in the 3.5 months since I’ve been back. So, I am a slow loser, but like other posters can feel the difference in my physical condition. Some days it is hard, but I am working at reminding myself how much better I feel and that helps me keep going.

Hey 3RDTIME - Michelle,

Glad you made the decision to rejoin. I'm fairly new (started in March) and have only lost 5 lbs, But I am determined to keep trudging on. I will not let those fat blobs that my body has become win. I didnt gain all my weight in a month or 5, so I know I wont lose them that fast either. TRACK, TRACK, TRACK. That's how I am going to lose this weight. Be honest and track all exercise and FOOD.

You to LALA - Way to go, I am a yo-yo too.

So Yesterday I didnt work out, but we started @ around 9:30 emptying the garage and going thru stuff and then putting stuff back. We were at it til about 4. My body is sore in places I didnt even know I had, But my garage is Fantastic now. We got rid of a lot of stuff, and now have a section where we can use all the exercise equipment (a treadmill, proform bike and a weight bench thing).

Hope everyone's weekend was more fun than mine!!!.

So I've decided to change my focus from what I'm losing to what I'm gaining. Because, despite slip ups and backsliding, despite the scale yo-yo-ing up and down and mostly up, guess what still makes me proud?

* I walk a 5k race about once a month. -- Two years ago I couldn't manage a mile.
* I can consistently do a half hour on the elliptical -- Two years ago I couldn't manage 10 minutes.
* I am no longer borderline diabetic. -- Two years ago I was facing being fully diabetic.
* No more sleep apnea. -- Two years ago I couldn't stay awake at work, or even in my car.

So now I'm going to focus on what I can GAIN. Maybe the ability to run a little bit. Maybe the ability to walk up a couple flights of stairs without strain.

Anyway, that's the plan for now! LOL

I have been walking the MS Walk for the last 3 years. Every year I have problems after 2 miles with my feet, body and the energy it takes just to finish that last mile.

MY WHOO HOO MOMEMENT
This year i walked the 3.5 plus a little extra to get from car to washington square back to car without losing momentum, pain in feet and body. I still had the energy during the entire 5K walk and even after it was over i still felt really good. During all of the race i was pushing the stroller with my nephew in it which was added weight. No pun intended but it felt amazing not having the 80 pds on me.

I failed to commit to...change how I am living. So my slow loosing turned into NO loosing.
However I am beginning again, and aim to participant.

My style has not changed though. Steady and slow is good for me. Therefor I am coming to this group again and am hoping to meet a few good people around here to see (via internet) through this process.

Did 50 minutes on the Wii - 240 calories.

This weekend we are moving our trailer out of the driveway and cleaning some more of the garage. I would rather have been camping, but the kids want to go next weekend, so they will be helping inthe garage instead - (Bad choice on their part )

Hey Turtles! Happy Friday! Just checking in... stayed on track with food, emoticon walked only 1 mile, cleaned my house due to company coming in tonight. Fitness tracker said heavy cleaning was 300 something calories burned - if I get half of that I'll be happy. Hope

Hey PINKHOPE,

No, The Stroganoff is my own concoction, I posted the recipie on the Whats for Dinner thread, but you can make it more quickly if you dont want your meat to simmer (I tend to use tougher cuts of meat cause they are cheaper), but you can definitely make it a lot quicker. I am tempted to have some of the leftovers for breakfast, but am holding out til lunch. Still trying to figure out whats for dinner tonight - I'm thinking Tostada salad.

Thanks Rayne, I too went to the store today and stocked up on fruits and vegies because I too have not been eating as well as I should. Walked 2 miles again today in 48 minutes, it use to take me 30 min to walk 1 mile so I've increased slowly but surely. Yea Turtles ... Progress not Perfection. Way to go MAGGIE165, MKLUCILLE & HARTKITTY !!! SAMMY - That walk sounds Fantastic !!!

Its Thirsty Thursday !! Trying to drink more water and planning to finish putting shelf paper in my kitchen pantry and then put all the stuff I took out, back. I did 48 minutes on my Wii yesterday and will be hopping on today in about an hour, but my food choices as usual were not the best, so I went to the store today and stocked up on some more fruit and Veges !

I find that the more I do things the Spark way the more my body tells me what it does and does not want. I ate 3 sweets yesterday. I enjoyed the first but then my body said no I'm not ready for more I could at one time have finished the whole lot and not even noticed I was doing it. emoticon

We all have to work on remembering that we are changing long-time habits. We have made a decision to have a healthier lifestyle. Now we need to work on making decisions that move us in that direction. Some decisions will be better than others. None mean we have failed. We just go on to the next one.

This is hard. I find I can say “Make better decisions” much more easily than do it consistently. But each time I remind myself and then follow through with better decisions I’ve reinforced by new path.

Happy Wednesday!

This morning we went on a "breakfast hike". 1+km straight up hill, along a beautiful stream, past a waterfall and across a wooden foot bridge to a nice little restaurant where we had breakfast. The food was great, the company even better and the view (over the Fairmont Hot Springs) was amazing!

We were planning to go on another hike tomorrow, but it started SNOWING tonight! We just can't seem to get away from it. I'm really disappointed.

SAMMY your R & R sounds awesome, love that you went to a cooking class! Sounds fun. For everyone struggling, remember giving up is not an option. I made a decision to make my life a "no-excuse zone" because I had so many of them (some valid) then I remembered that many, many, thin people have these same issues or same things happen, and don't use them as an excuse. I'm having to constantly challenge myself because my weight comes off so slowly that boredom sets in. With new challenges, life becomes an adventure. This may take me a very long time but my ticker is slowly moving to the right......with no crashing to the right and then crashing back to the left again. Not an option! Keep going and keep moving, it will gradually add up to some big changes over time. emoticon

The past week has been rough. I haven't made it to either of my fitness classes or exercised for 10 minutes and that is one of my goals! I am reading a book though that reminded me that I say things to myself that I would NEVER say to anyone else. So here is my message to myself. If I really want to, I can become more fit. I will value myself more than food. I hope everyone has a great day today and a great week!

WooHoo....some R&R...how superb....
My hubby and I are going away at easter....am really looking forward to it....we will spaend some time with friends however we will stay in a motel as we have some work to do that we are not getting done at home so it will be a real restful opportunity to get caught up....

Happy Tuesday everyone!

My husband & I have snuck off for a few days of R&R. The weather here is much nicer than home (no snow!)

So today we spent a couple hours walking around the main street of the town where we are staying. Then we went to a Vietnamese salad roll cooking class tonight. It was healthy and a lot of fun!

I have been doing crappy keep making excuses do to major stress in my life. I plan to do better tommorrow and watch what i eat as well as excercise. MY mother had been hospitalized and thought to have been having the signs of a stroke and my sister in law keeps attempting to go into labor and is only thirtythree weeks. And I have been having some other family issues, I stress eat and then throw the towl in. I really need a pep talk. emoticon

Happy Tuesday Turtles! I walked 2 miles in the rain today to keep my promise to myself, but

Ok, did 54 minutes and burned 248 calories. Now if I can just eat right.... Am planning to have baked fish and rice and zucchini tonight. I coat my fish with a mix of Panko, wheat germ, bread crumbs and lots of spices (garlic, cayanne pepper, parsley, and a few others). makes for a crunchy crust on the fish without a lot of calories.

Excuses - Excuses or maybe Confessions???

Today is excuse day. Sunday I did not workout at all due to back pain. I was rear ended by a drunk driver about a month ago and Sunday was a painful day. Finished all my pain meds and was doing good for 2 days and then Sunday, well it was miserable. As for Monday, I was all ready to workout, had my workout outfit on and could not get my Wii to work. It wouldnt even come up on the TV screen, so my 16 year old son gets home about 7:30(pm) and it takes him a mere minute or two and poof, My Wii is working just fine. Turns out that when we had watched a rented movie on Sunday someone changed the settings on the DVD thing and that is why my Wii wouldnt work.

SO, Today (Tuesday) I am getting ready to get on my Wii and get back on schedule.

I envy all the people who have sunny days. So far i have only seen 2 somewhat nice days here and that was this weekend. I am hoping that it stays ok today so that i can get another 45 minute walk in. If not then its on to working out inside.
