I made the recipe tonight called slow cooker creamy Italian chicken on Sparkpeople in the recipe section and my 3 grandchildren gobbled it down! Easy and delicious!

I make a lot of one dish meals. My kids are eat a variety but do not like when a meal takes long to eat. If I combine food groups into one or two items, it seems like a faster meal for them. Also we eat homemade Mexican a lot in which I'll make mine into a salad many time to avoid a tortilla. Chinese is another hit and I load up on the veggies and limit my rice or noodles. Cauliflower potatoes, I like 1/2 and 1/2 for texture plus potatoes have nutrients as well. But everone gets extra veggies that way.

Get yourself out of the rut.
Take your daughter and yourself to your local library and check out some new cookbooks and cooking magazines (for both adults and children). Start making meals that look fun, interesting, and tasty for the whole family. Stop placing the focus on "kid friendly". A 3 year old should be eating the same meals as everyone else in the family.

I have a daughter who is 3 years old. I've deliberately avoided most of the "kids menu" foods - chicken nuggets, hot dogs, etc. When I do, I make "nuggets" from scratch with chicken breast pieces, fresh butcher-shop sausages, homemade mac and cheese, and so on. She's as good as a toddler gets for trying new foods, and willingly eats a lot of veggies, but I feel like I'm in a rut as far as recipes go.

For those of you with young kids, tell me your kids' fave foods/meals! I need some ideas!!
