Garlic (fresh), cumin, chili powder, basil (fresh), rosemary (fresh) cayenne, paprika, ground mustard, curry. I love spices and have and use about 50 on a regular basis. I do not use any that contain salt.

Garlic salt or powder, onion powder, and fresh ground pepper are my staples. I also like to add dried dill week to my pasta with fresh veggie salads - really wakes up the flavor!

Garlic and cayenne pepper are used often. My husband and I both like a little heat in our dishes. I also grow rosemary, basil, oregano, tyme, chives, and a couple of types of parsley; all of which I use on a regular basis.

The liquid smoke is a great idea for a substitution.

I would like to know more about the African basil, sounds interesting.

I use garlic more than anything else. I also use a lot of Mexican and Italian blend seasonings, and we love curry on chicken, tuna, etc. We love spices. I am growing sweet basil, African basil (a new one for me), oregano, chives, & thyme in pots on my patio. I have a huge rosemary bush that is about 7 years old beside the sidewalk outside my front door. Makes a lovely smell when visitors walk by to the door.

I planted some bail seeds around December and now I feel that I am in the Little House of Horrors - the Basil edition. I have several glasses of cuttings that have rooted beyond belief and pinching back the plants has only resulted in the enchanted basil forest. I foresee a large amount of pesto in the freezer as well as all the cuttings. I give the pot a quart if water and diluted fertiliser a day. Help!

Cheers,
Catherine

I'm growing sage. Left over from last year. Had some Rosemary but it died I think I did not let it get big enough before using. I am going to try it again in the next week or two.

I like pepper, salt, celery salt ( its versatile works when you're out of celery and need that seasoning) and love cinnamon and nutmeg together. Reminds me of my grandmother's baking when I smell that cinnamony smell. Reda

Oh my! Since I do a lot of Indian cooking I use rather a LOT of spices:

ginger
garlic
cumin
coriander
fennel seeds
fenugreek
nigella seeds
turmeric
cloves
mustard seeds
asafoetida
chili

And a whole host of others. I guess I rarely use the greener spices: basil, rosmary, thyme etc but I use them fresh from my garden when I actually do use them.

Fresh parsley (broad leaf) and fresh cilantro are stables in my kitchen too.

I put Mrs. Dash Garlic and Herb seasoning on EVERYTHING! I love it so much, than when a local store had it on sale I bought 7 jars. It's great on oven fries, chicken, fish--you name it! I also use a lot of cumin and fresh herbs in season as well.

Red pepper flakes have turned out to be surprisingly versatile (especially good with pasta)! I also love fresh dill for salads (regular lettuce salad and pasta/chicken/potato). I'm a big fan of cilantro and parsley on anything/everything. I have really been enjoying the Mrs. Dash blends too (it surprised me),

Otherwise, the 'usual suspects': garlic, pepper, a bit of salt, cumin, curry, chile powder.

I am REALLY trying to find some adobo seasoning. I think that sounds awesome!!!!!!!

I like "spicy" in general, so I add Cayenne Pepper or Chile Seeds to my Rice / Pasta. Oh, and can't forget horseradish sauce!

On the sweet side, my favorite tea is hot Chai Tea, heavy with ginger, allspice, cinnamon, and yes - black pepper too. YUM!

Used to be garlic and oregano - but my husband was complaining about everything being the same flavor profile... so I've been learning to use others - basil, tarragon, chives, cumin, coriander, chili, marjoram, dill, chipolte, thyme, rosemary, cilantro and parsley...they are all wonderful! Just planted a bunch of fresh herbs in my garden - can't wait until I can start using them!
