I just started the challenge yesterday. At the start I am not sleeping well and I wake up often. My dreams are always off the chain. At times my pain will wake me up to.
I need some sleep.

This past week, DH has been battling a cold. So, he's apparently got swollen nasal passages and throat. All night, and I mean all night, these sub-human sounds were coming out of this poor man! Like the creaking deck of a ship in a pirate movie! Ugh!

So, we were both up at 5 AM (on a Saturday, mind you) and I'm hoping to get in a nap later today. We have plans tonight and I don't want to fall asleep in the middle of socializing.

Good thing we're not normall snorers - I don't know how I would cope!

I slept great last night. I set my target bed time, went to bed on time, and got a little over 8 hours of sleep. I actually woke up feeling great BEFORE my alarm went off. It was getting light out and I could hear the birds. What a great morning. About to go hit the gym, WOOT!!

I am getting a little more sleep. Monday's are a real challenge because I am off Sunday and Monday. I try to get more exercise and house work done on those days and I am usually wide awake when it is time for me to go to bed. I am not going to give up on my goal. Sweet dreams everyone.

Finally off week 2 and on week 3, that's the good news. Bad news is that just like week 2, week 3 is a challenge and so far not too good. Went to bed on time only 2 nights so far so here's hoping there's more of that.

I try to go to bed by ten, but then I wake up around 4 am, so I now go to be at 11 and am able to sleep soundly until around 6:30 am and that keeps me from being sleepy during the day.

I tend to put off going to bed until I can no longer hold my eyes open. I used to be an early to bed person but it seems as I age, I stay up later and later. Most days I do take naps. Generally, I don't have a problem falling to sleep and will go right back to sleep after each time I get up to the bathroom. I get between 6 to 9 hours of sleep per day.

Most of the time, no matter how late I stay up, I wake up between 6 and 7 AM. Very seldom do I sleep later than 7 AM.

Most days I feel fairly refreshed. It's just when I can't get outside for extended periods of time that the tiredness catches up to me. Along with the cloudy rainy without sun days. These are the days I feel really dragged out and tired. I nap more on these days, too.

God's gift to you: a clean slate every day: your gift to God: what you put on that slate....

I had this problem when my husband worked swing shifts. I found sleeping with ear plugs minimized the disruptions. Takes a night or two to get used to but it did keep me in the same room/bed during those trying nights!

Rain, thunder, lightening and power outage. From last Saturday to Wednesday morning there has been no straight through sleep around this house. Sleep went out the window.
Almost rebroke my right ankle trying to find a flash light or candle Tuesday night when the power was off for 6 hrs. Enjoyed getting dressed by candle light, and finding my car keys. Oh, well
what I learned Tuesday I will keep in mind tomorrow. Round 3 is on its way about to enter Indie. Next week has got to be better.

So as of tonight will start over! Anyone out there like this duck weather?

Hi guys, this really is a challenge for me. Thought I was going to bed on time last night and ended up on the computer for an hour emoticon . I have been on time 3 days so far this week from Sun so I don't feel too bad about last last night, but this week has been the exception and not the norm. Years of going to bed 11p, 12 or later is not going to be that easy to get out of but taking it day by day.

I'm not so sure I can do this challenge...my husband can't fall asleep without the TV and that keeps me awake. Especially when he turns it on in the middle of the night! He has a stressful job and wakes up thinking about almost everynight. I'm afraid I may have to sleep in another room to get a decent night's sleep as there is no convincing him of getting rid of the TV in our room :(

Reading in bed in the thing that works for me. I'll read for 10-15 minutes, then when I turn off the light, I tend to think about what I just read, rather than all the daily things that bug me.

I'm not doing well on this challenge at all, matter of fact I seem to be worse than before I started. Being more aware of my sleeping habits or lack of is making me sleep less. I'm stuck in week two for some time now. I will try getting into more of a routine and trying my hardest to get back to cutting out the late night snacking and hope that helps emoticon

I've been sleeping like a champ. I turn off the TV and Computer 30 minutes before my "go to bed" time, and then I read for 15-20 minutes once I crawl into bed. Works like a charm. It also helps that I've been doing LOTS of cardio and weight lifting!

I think turning off the computer by 10 is the key for me. If I can't do it by myself by Sunday...I intend to make a sleeper command on my computer. I get so busy I forget to sleep. Yesterday was the only day I went to bed on time and I was much more focused, energetic and cheerful. So only 1 good day so far.

I'm happy I found this team. I have noticed a huge change in my sleeping at night in the last 3 weeks. All electronics are off before 8; and I am now in bed by 10:30 and up for 6 feeling well rested... what a difference it makes.

By keeping a sleep journal and experiencing consecutive restful nights when camping back in January, I have discovered that I need to turn off electronics by 11pm to get a good nights sleep. Simple, yes. But my brain is resistant. Last night I woke up after midnight and turned on my computer to check emails, stayed up til nearly 5am.
So I am re-training my self.
No electronics between 11pm - 9 am.

I slept great this week, I set goals, meditated, went to bed on time, and got 7.5 to 8.5 hours of sleep every night! This weekend I stayed up later and got 7 hours the first night, and 6 hours last night. I stayed up late playing video games. It was a lot of fun, but not productive in terms of the sleep challenge. Tonight its back to a planned bed time and relaxation routine!

I've found that getting to bed on time is my biggest solution and biggest challenge to getting a good night's sleep. Also, if I don't fall asleep right away, I go ahead and get up. Then I take a couple of ibuprofen tablets with some milk. That usually helps me fall asleep. At least, now I can recognize what is causing my sleep problem now.

I regularly struggle with sleep and last night was no exception. However, it's more due to this chronic cough than insomnia, so I view that as a weird positive! I'm so tired now that I think a full night's sleep would just boost me soooooo much! Looking forward to yet another appointment with my doc about this cough!
