All I can say is ugh ugh ugh...... or should I say up up up. All the high fat and high sodium foods have caught up with me and I still have the big family party today. Then tomorrow morning it's back to business.

I never posted last Friday. It was a good week and I was down 2.4 lbs. So felt really good about that but unfortunately, I've been a little 'crazy' since then. Cookies and candy managed to find their way into my house and that is the ultimate weakness. So right now already this week I'm back up a pound. Got back into control today so hopefully I can still redeem myself.

I just use a digital scale - nothing fancy.

I never got the fitbit because I have NOT been exercising. This IS my New Year's Resolution. I've got the eating down (well except this week) so now I need to incorporate the exercise back into my life.

The scale stayed flat today which is throwing me off a bit as I feel like I have cut back on the eating. At least it didn't go up.

Have you been using the fibit. I lost mine and miss it.

Also what kind of scale do you use?

Oiy - birthday weekend coming up and there were 3 nights out this week for dinner......... Needless to say, scale was indeed up .8

I should be grateful that it was only .8 and not more but still disappointed in myself with some of the poor choices I made. Going out again tomorrow night and then I can get back into my own 'eating' routine and start sending that scale back down again.

Ok, have a fantastic weekend - supposed to be good weather again so I plan to get out and enjoy it!

Was a rough week for me as well and not even sure where I went wrong.

Scale is down a pound from last week but needs to be better than that.

Trying not to overindulge by using the holidays as an excuse. The pants are too tight today. Hopefully that will keep me away from the goodies.

Oh dear - I see I never posted last week. WELL, it was a bad weigh in last Friday (day after Thanksgiving) My scale was up about 1.3? It got even worse because I pigged out over the weekend.........By Monday the scale was up almost 3 lbs I think? I got my act together and had a good week but am still up a few tenths of a lb?

My issue is I eat crap all weekend and then spend the week fighting to get the excess weight off So gain/lose......gain/lose. I just need to stay on track and lose/lose!! Sigh.

Have a great week - we can do this! We just need to get thru the next few weeks of holiday goodies and parties and then we can start the new year heading in the right direction!

Happy Friday!

Finally I had a really good week! I was down 3.6 lbs today...........At last I am back to where I was on 9/25 and actually even lower. For the first time in 2 months I can move my ticker DOWN. Very pleased and now the big goal is to stay focused and not blow it thru Thanksgiving.

It's been another frustrating week here as well. I was down 2.5 lbs by Monday (from last Friday).........didn't do anything different Tues/Wed/Thur and yet today, I do my official weigh in and I'm only down .6. Go figure.........

I agree with you, Halloween was a killer and seemed to have put us on a bad little path but it's over now.

WE CAN DO THIS AND WE WILL :)

No change for me this week. I ate too much candy and crap food over the weekend and was way up on Monday - fortunately, when I weighed in this morning I was back down to the same weight as last Friday. Got rid of all the crap in the house so hopefully the Focus is back on and I can start the scale downward again.

Pretty good week for me. I'm down 1.6

Of course I'm STILL up from the end of September but working on it. I'm still pleased that I am NOT gaining weight and I am down to smoking less than a pack per week. I haven't had any at all in the last 2 days nor have I used any electronic cigarettes. Fingers crossed as it's a lot harder than I thought.

Should get thru Halloween ok - I bought candy I don't like. ha ha ha ha. too bad the big bag has some itty bittly baby kit kats in them. I have indulged in a few of those this week. Opps. - the rest of those wil be the first to get given out tomorrow.

Let's make this a good week! Scale up for me and although I am not eating sweets I am eating chips and tortilla chips. Gotta snap out of it. I don't think the drugs for my hand help but still.

I spoke too soon on Wednesday........

Weighed in today and I'm up 1 pound. Just haven't been focused this week and it showed. Working from home and quitting smoking is a tough task because there's just too much to reach for as a substitute. So I need to find time this weekend to do some planning and organizing here in the kitchen. I am really going to try and focus this week and see if I can have a successful loss by next Friday. I WILL SUCCEED!

Hang in there - you just need to get thru all this with your hand...........once you do that you'll be in much better shape.

I'm holding my own. Didn't post last Friday because I've been out of town but my weight stayed the same. I'm still UP about 1.5 from my nephew's wedding on 9/27 but basically I've maintained the same weight for 3 weeks AND pretty much have stopped smoking (an occasional one still here and there) so overall I'm good with it. That was one of my biggest fears - quit smoking and gain all sorts of weight. I just need to focus and work a little harder and start losing weight again.

WE CAN DO IT!

Sorry for not posting. All this therapy on my hand has me a bit behind and exercise is not taking a priority, Had a procedure yesterday that involved forcing my hand into a fist while knocked out, Then ate like a pig. Need to get on track!

Happy Friday.

No change in weight for me this week. :( I suppose if I reflect on the week I can see why. One night out at Flemings Steakhouse with wine and bernaise sauces and bread etc) and another night at the 99 Restaurant. Add those to the fact that this was week two on Chantix for smoking and I have cut back already by 75% I guess I should be grateful there wasn't a weight gain.

Still, need to push harder and start doing a little more to help with the weight loss!

Ok, this thread was created to bring us thru September.

Elizabeth - shall we just keep using this one thru the end of the year instead of making a new one? Let me know your thoughts.

I missed my 'goal' I had set for my nephew's wedding but .8 Overall I was pleased but had a bang up time at the wedding (or should I say wedding weekend) with both food and drink. This past Monday saw me up 3 lbs! I figured some of it was probably after eating the sodium packed food all weekend and so I was pretty cautious this week and drank lots of water etc. I am down 1.6 as of today. So still about 1 1/2 lbs to go to be back where I was and move forward.

Really going to shoot for at least 8 more lbs by Thanksgiving.........not sure if I can do it but I'm going to give it my best effort.

Have a fabulous week and let me know if you want me to set up a new thread or if we can just continue to use this one.

Mini goal weekend for me!!!! I had targeted a number to reach for tomorrow (my godson/nephews wedding).

Dropped 2.2 lbs this week (woo hoo) so I am now .8 from that goal. Whether I hit it tomorrow or not, I'm happy with my progress. I just need to keep pushing forward.

AND, (of course) I will weigh in again tomorrow just to see if I get closer....... hee hee hee

I am also going to set a new goal for myself to lose 7 more pounds by Thanksgiving!

Down a pound for me.

3 more to go by next week - thinking that won't happen but as long as the scale moves downward I will be happy! Did get in 3 days of exercise this week and plan on getting in good looooooong walks tomorrow and Sunday. I am going to pre-plan the menu's for the week too and do the best I can. Once the wedding is over I am going to set a new goal for myself and just keep pushing.

Elizabeth - hope you had another good week and had a good time at the Cape last weekend! I am going to get myself a fitbit. I'm waiting for Chantix in the mail to help quit smoking so that will be an extra challenge with me on the eating. Figure if I get the fitbit and channel that energy towards walking it will help!

The scale finally moved in the right direction. I have cut out candy and desserts. Seems to be working. Still eating other junk and need to exercise.

You should definitely get a fitbit. What a motivator it is. It gets you moving. Last night I was walking around to get the last 300 steps in but I hit 10,000!

Morning all,

Nothing good to report here. Up about .5 lbs. Seems I've spent the last 4 - 5 weeks just going back and forth with the same pound. I still want to try and lose 4 lbs before my nephew's wedding which is 2 weeks from tomorrow. Sigh, I'm sure I could do it if I would just get myself out the door and do some walking. Just don't know what's wrong with me that I can't get moving? I am AGAIN going to try and push myself to get in some much needed walking. I want to buy a fitbit but I have to prove to myself that i'm actually going to do it.

Goal - WALK WALK WALK

Well the scale stayed steady so that is a good thing. tracked all I ate and resisted sweets starting on September 1. Worked out quickly on the 1st but no more since then. woke up early to run this morning but didn't make it out the door.
Love the fitbit. So simple. Haven't synced it yet with Spark but love to track my steps and flights of stairs. Definitely get one. You will love it. I do the clip one as I don't want to wear it as a bracelet but lots of people do. I slip it on my bra with no problem.

Happy Friday.

Tough week for me. I had a 'party' weekend last Saturday and Sunday. Spent all day Saturday snacking my way thru the Feast of St Anthony and alas, by Monday it had showed. Scale was up several pounds........spent all week working at it and managed to almost lose it all but as of this morning the scale is still up 1 lb.

Now I have the 3 day weekend (can you believe it's Labor Day!!). I will need to get in some extra walking and really plan out my meals. No nonsense. My nephew's wedding is 3 weeks from tomorrow and I really want to lose 4 more pounds!

Elizabeth - did you get the new fitbit? Do you like it?? I keep saying I'm going to get one - are they easy to use?

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!!!!

Did great this week and lost all that excess weight and then some. So for this week the scale has me down about 3 1/2 lbs. BUT, in all good conscience - when I weighed in last Friday I must have been carrying some excess salt because when I weighed myself the next day I was actually down another pound. So I am still really happy with the loss for this week and am hoping that I can drop a few more before my nephew's wedding on 9/26.

Total dropped since June 7th is 11.6 which makes me VERY happy. Some might think it's slow but hey, if it's going down........I'm thrilled. :)

Of course all bets could be off tomorrow. Heading to the Feast of St Anthony celebration in the North End. Ohhhhh all that yummy italian food! I'll have to do lots of walking.

Awesome job on the road race!!!! You raised a lot of money, lost weight, and you finished the race in that horrific heat! You rock!

My week was ok. I dropped 1/2 lb this week but I'm still up by a pound from like 2 weeks ago so basically 2 weeks wasted. I was away for back to back weekends and it certainly showed. At least now this week I have settled back into my routine and hopefully can now get back on track. I only have 5 weeks till my nephew's wedding and I'd still like to drop a few more pounds. Well I'd like to drop 20 more but that certainly isn't going to happen. I'm just going to plug along and keep trying every day........

A little better this wee. The scale was down. Finished the Falmouth Road race. It was SO hot! My worst time but I completed and raised $4500 for Children's Hospital. Now to take care of me.

Well its Friday! Since my wrist breaking I have been a slug and not watching what I have been eating. I can't believe how well I had been doing at easter. I am 8.5 pounds heavier and that makes a difference. Some of it is water weight but more of it is all the sweets. I have been running some and have a race this Sunday. (running Falmouth for Children's hospital). Sept,1 is a new chapter. I will start into better habits come Monday but Monday is the official date.

Yep! Now I have what I believe, is a planters wart right on the ball of my foot and it's getting painful to walk so pretty much wiped out any walking for the next few days. Heading out now to get something for it and this means I need to be extremely careful with my food menu.

I HAVE to lose something this upcoming week and not waste this entire month. I am going to lose at least 1 lb by Friday. Not sure how but I'm going to do it!!! Time to load up on veggies and fruit!

Disappointing week for me. Scale was down a few tenths this morning....... it was a tough week with the food and it clearly showed. Not sure why but it was just a 'pity me party all week. I'm over it now and moving ahead. Overall it's been a terrible month with no loss so I'm going to work hard for the next week and try to end July with a bang.

Fra - hoping thngs are improving for you and that your fingers are doing better!

Good morning all! I am 137. I didn't check in last week but I need to get bak on track.

The biggest hurdle is working out. The bone has haled on my wrist but I still have major mobility issues with my fingers so they are upping the efforts on therapy. Getting a continuous motion device that I will have to use for 30 minutes for 3 times a day! I'm up for anything. But I have to get going on the exercise!

Trying to increase the water. Drank a bottle and half this morning (24 ounces). Not the smartest thing to do before a meeting.

Morning all,

Ok, so final vacation results are in. Total gain for vacation ended up being 1.4

Weighed in this morning for my 'official' weekly weigh in and I am right back to where I was the Friday before I left for vacation 2 weeks ago. So all the vacation weight is off and now I need to move forward and continue the downward trend.

Still hoping to lose 10 lb by the end of September so I need to get busy!!!

Hope everyone had a good week and is getting a chance to enjoy some of this nice weather.

Morning all,

Back from vacation and no 'official' weigh in till Friday. Right now it looks like I'm up .5 from my week of fun in the sun so need to work on that before weigh in.

Hi Everyone. I am new to this challenge. Two years ago I joined Spark People. My weight then was 138 and my goal was to reduce to 132. Since then, I was assaulted. I sustained numerous injuries, with shock being one of them. I lost all enthusiasm for going out and working out. As a consequence, my weight ballooned up to 180--the most I have ever weighed. My goal is to loose 18 pounds by the end of September. Leaving the house to work out will be the biggest hurdle. Nevertheless with your encouragement I feel I can do it.

Great! The challenge last quarter helped me stay on track even though I did not lose as much as I was hoping. My goal is going to be 165. I will again try to run 3 days a week, do yoga/pilates 3 times a week, and strength train 2 times a week. I will keep track of any extra cardio I do as well (zumba, biking, etc.) I usually weigh in on Tuesdays.

Start: 175.6
Goal: 165

Week of 7/6:
Run: 1/3 (took it easy because my injury seemed to be flaring up and I had a 5K on Saturday)
Yoga/ Pilates: 3/3
Strength: 2/2
Notes: Totally not expecting that big of a loss after the long weekend but I will take it!
Weigh in 7/7: 173.2 (-2.4)

Week of 7/13:
Run: 3/3
Yoga/ Pilates: 2/3
Strength: 2/2
Notes:
Weigh in 7/14: 172.6 (-0.6)

This is going to be a great quarter!

My goal is to lose 10 pounds.

My exercise is limited due to my injured wrist but going to ramp it up and watch what I eat!!

Do you have goals to get you thru the Summer with no significant damage to your weight loss journey? If so, please share with us and see if we can support each other!

In the last quarter I dropped 7.2 lbs. Now I'm ready to push myself a little harder.........

I am setting a goal to lose 10 lbs by September. I have GOT to kick up the exercising if I want to meet this goal. Food and Water intake have been good so now I need to incorporate the walking.

Weigh in Day for me will be Friday mornings. I will do my very best to check in each Friday and report successes or failures.

I am going to challenge others to set their own goals and join me here. Make that commitment and try to check in here once a week to let us know how you are doing!
