here is another great post by my friend Ray.....hope it is helpful ............

Always be mindful that you're a product of your environment.

So choose an environment that will best develop you toward your objective.

Analyze your life in terms of your environment.
Are the things around you helping you toward your success, or are they holding you back?

The first step toward getting somewhere is to decide that you're not going to stay where you are. You're not a captive of your environment.

If you don't like where you are, you can make some changes. You're not planted permanently in the ground like a tree. Don't say, "You would, if you could," start saying, "You will, because you can."

When you become a part of anything it becomes a part of you.

Rays Notes:

I've noticed on a lot of posts lately that people would do anything to lose the weight that has crept back on over the years and I don't blame you... but I've also noticed that If you talk to some of these people not only do they try to keep to the "Good food" but they also stock a good supply of "Bad or Junk food" in their house.

I don't know about you but isn't it just to easy to go off of your lifestyle change and revert to your previous situation.

I've heard, but they're for my guests or if someone comes over i want something to serve them, or... I need comfort food when I'm having problems... etc etc

well, You are a product of your environment. If you stock soft drinks in your house, you'll drink soft drinks, if you have potato chips in the house you'll eat potato chips... you get the idea.

It is almost totally impossible to have a successful lifestyle change when you keep reverting to a former lifestyle.

The same is true when you go out to eat... Do you order Chicken salad or a half chicken with double portion of ribs, mashed potatoes, gravy, beer etc.. you get the idea.

Yes, All those things taste great but the Super sized" days are over if you want to survive a lifestyle change.

Yes... enjoy what you eat, but don't over indulge! Moderation moderation moderation... Learn it! also sugar, bread, desserts, sweets, candy, are basically almost eliminated if you want to change... but remember the occasional snack is ok, but an entire bag of M&M's, pretzels, potato chips etc. it's not good for the lifestyle change.

Do you exercise at all or does your environment tend to grab you and pull you to your television? If it does, don't worry... you can always use hand weights, jog on the spot, Play with the Wii Fit etc... remember any exercise is still exercise. If you walk, that's exercise, if you clean it's exercise... Movement is the key!

If you're at a crossroads and not really sure which way to turn, ask yourself this... Whats best for me, What do I want in life?, what do I want to accomplish? and finally what am I going to do to get and keep it?

You know whats best, you know what you want, you may even know how to accomplish it but... its the "What am I going to do" part that's scary!

How can I change to make my life easier... set a workout schedule, get rid of the junk food in the house, research how to eat... what to eat... portion control... and them no matter what it takes stay on your chosen path! I know you can do this!!!

If you want chocolate, take a small bite... just for the taste... but don't eat chocolate until you get sick!

The choice is up to you but If you really want this life style change... you'll work for it! you'll become that master of your environment and you will conquer your hurdles and complete your goals!

You will change your environment because you can...
You will change your habits because you can!.....
You are your own master and nobody can tell you what to do. You control your destiny and you're in charge!
It's like your body is your business and you're the boss. if you let your business go and do the wrong things you'll soon be out of business but if you do the right things, feed your business the right information and become knowledgeable about your company then your business will become your fortune 500 company! Knowledge is Power! These are words to LIVE by!

Don't throw your life away while you still have a chance. The time to live is now! The time to love is NOW! The time to enjoy life is NOW...

Take control, Be the master of your environment and your life... it is after all... "ALL ABOUT YOU!"
You're worth it!

There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results.
When you get to a plateau, think of it as a landing on the stairway to your goal. And
maintenance is a lifelong plateau, so a bit of "rehearsal" for maintenance isn't the worst thing in the world
