I do group exercises classes so I do spinning, yoga, zumba, kick boxing, tae bo, les mills and other weight training classes. It changes so I never get bored. I have a group of people with me and I pick up on their energy when I'm feeling lethargic. I usually see the same people over and over again so I feel accountable to them when I don't show up - because do they ask...where were you? LOL - So that keeps me going. It's also just fun and it eases a lot of stress throughout my day and I feel great afterward.

Hi MARTILLINI! It's been pretty quiet in this group now that I've started logging in consistently again. Good luck on getting running again. I started out running again with a really bad case of shin splints and ankle pain. After keeping at it and very gradually increasing time, I am back to running 30 minutes straight. So, it is worth the effort, but not worth injuring yourself by trying too much too fast.

I am thinking of trying a Zumba class to add another cardio workout. Three days of running is the max for me right now. I dislike running while I'm actually running, but I like challenging myself with races and how I feel after a good run (and cool down and stretching and water). Also, I moved recently and need to make friends in my new city.

How will I know limits from lies if I never try? --Thrice

Hi folks :) I've been off and on. I quit going to a gym (financial reasons), but I got some workout dvds, and I've been doing Jillian Michaels' 30 day shred 5-6 days a week. I'm trying to get running again, starting out slow, but I'll do it.

It's finally nice out again, so I am back to running outside. Unfortunately, the nicest area to run is up a big hill. Tomorrow I am going up that hill, because I am sick of running in circles around the block. Anyway, I can't complete the 4 mile bridge run in November if I am afraid of a hill!

Pilates on my non-running days. I love Netflix Instant since I can vary my workouts without having to buy a bunch of different DVDs.

It has been a year of ups and downs!! But working out was something that has remained consistant! I love my treadmill and Turbo Jam!!! I alternate and add ST as needed!! It feels good to be fit!

I am still active. I do Walk Away the Pounds Interval Training. It is my favorite DVD. My favorite skinny food is the Skinny Cow Mint Chocolate Truffle Bar. I love ice cream and this is an awesome way to enjoy it 100 calories at a time. emoticon

Do the treadmill - 30 minutes - try to do every day if not - every other day and on the weekends. Joined Curves today - will go every day and then starting next week - every other day so I can continue the treadmill also. Try and follow the Sprak week menu.

Staying Active - Cardio 6 days/wk; strength training 2 days/wk; got a new treadmill in December as my "reward" for losing 35 pounds -- now at 52 pounds! Lots of great Spark Recipes that I use all the time - tonight was Slow Cooker Salsa Chicken!!

So it has been almost a year! How are you staying active? What is your favorite "diet" food? I have been loving the low-calorie pulled pork that I found a recipe for!!! I also love my treadmill!!! It it is so easy to do at least 10 minutes a day.
