Shelly - your day sounded wonderful yesterday, especially the dancing and staying out late! But you and Tracy need to come to my house because I STILL have not gotten to it. I've done a bit here and there, but my motivation sucks right now and yesterday I had a pity party and way overate. Whew, so much for transparency! No one would have known otherwise, but I'm trying to keep it real here. Ok. I'm going offline now. Really. No! Really! lol [bullhorns saying "step away from the computer!"] (I crack myself up!)

Hugs,
Zoe

Merry Christmas!

I'll get out my clipboard and check through everyone's food journals then. I will publicly announce it if you have a Twinkie binge. .... mmm... Twinkies... *runs* Don't check my food log! LOL

Zoe - I hope all that cleaning happened for you. Its such a good feeling when its done, but what a pain getting it done.

Nancy - I hope the hubs is ok. That’s awful!

Tracy - I agree with your Mom about the phase. Our boys are similar in age and all of a sudden my little guy screams hysterically if I leave the room he is in. I could walk 5 feet away and he loses it. My girls did the same thing. Its frustrating but this too shall pass. I’d wait on switching his bed too. We just moved my 2 ˝ year old into a toddler bed last weekend. If you son is feeling insecure about sleep right now I wouldn’t change things up. My 3 rules to move kids is 1) the start climbing out of the crib or 2) they simply outgrow the crib or 3) they can vocalize that they want a big kid bed, which is what happened with my 2 ˝ yo.

Tricia - Have a fantastic trip! I love the food in LA too. I know I wouldn’t be able to behave. Lol

Ginger - LOL You are too funny! I completely empathize with the wanting the kids out of the house. If I go one day without my kids I have a hard time functioning. But when I’m back for just 10 minutes I remember why it is I wanted to leave. J

Yesterday was all about scrubbing and cleaning around here. We pulled weeds (sure wish I had a goat) until my hammies could take no more. Since my hubs is home he helped me move our kitchen table and chairs out of the kitchen (it’s a huge granite top table that I can’t scoot by myself) so I could sweep and hand wash my floors. What a pain in the knees. I hadn’t actually scrubbed the floors, longer than I am willing to admit. Today is the farmer’s market and finishing laundry. Last night was date night. My oldest and her BFF babysat for us. It costs me more to have her sit than if I hired someone else but its worth it. We had a blast! Had a couple of drinks out and then went dancing. My hubs hates dancing, he has no rhythm, but he did it for me last night. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. He’s such a good sport! Oh my aching legs and tired body. We strolled in at 1:45 this morning. I’m too old for this. lol Alright, off to get the kids dressed and go buy some “good food” as my 2 ˝ year old says. She is jonesing for some melon.

Ginger - I still have my son at home and my daughter is living in an apartment with her boyfriend only about two miles away, so I see them all the time. It was weird when I was in Europe last month to be that far away, and that inaccessible. But they survived and so did I. I guess with them still in my daily life, I haven't quite reached the empty nest syndrome yet. Some days I'm ready for that, some days I'm not.

Also, I just put my nutrition and exercise as public so feel free to check up on me lol.

Tracy, I don't think I'd change his bed yet; you want him to feel secure and change may hinder that. They couldn't make manuals because every child is different, even within families. You just have to do the best you can with what you know at the time. He'll survive and best of all, he won't even remember this time of his life lol.

Going to huddle etc now but I'll be back later to see who shows up. Oh, and hi Tricia!

~Zoe

Merry Christmas!

Heya Ginger! You've been missed here! But I do understand being busy. Yanno, honestly, I don't know if he'd understand the concept just yet. I know he goes to sleep easier if we go to sleep at the same time. And most nights we do. This is just a recent development. He doesn't even find THAT as a comfort that we're all going to sleep. He will not calm down until I'm sitting there within arms reach of him. I'm beginning to wonder if that's his cue that he's ready for a bigboy bed or if that will just make things worse. *sigh* I really wish they had manuals....

I am here. I know I don't get into the room to chat often, but I'm here. My family is away for the next couple of days and then I am off to Indiana to visit family there for a week. It's my first vacation since starting this new life and I'm going to try to be cognizant of it while I am gone... but I am having a couple of Chicago dogs! LOL

Tracy, maybe you can have your son put you to bed. You might get a better picture of how he sees what's going on when it's happening. Maybe he will say something that helps you.

Zoe, what's it like having kids out of the house? Tell me it's all I dream it will be?! LOL My kids are away at horse camp and I feel like I've lost a limb...an annoying, demanding, frustrating, cute, huggable limb.

Just wanted to say a quick hello. We're traveling again, spending the weekend with my father-in-law in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Lots of good food here, it's hard to behave!

Well, I'm typing on my phone, which is NOT a lot of fun, so I'll catch up with you all this week.

Well, hang in there. It's been awhile since I had little ones - my daughter is 22 and my son is 18, both in college.

Zoe, my son is 19 months old. And I see more evidence of him trying to exert his independence. He's saying NO more to lots of things, and getting upset when I won't let him do something he wants to do. So I'm sure it's just him not wanting to be alone. Once he's asleep he's good, it's just him getting there. It doesn't help that we've snipped his paci. We're doing this slowly, so that he gets used to losing it slowly. He's ultra-attached to it.

Hi Tracy, thanks for your encouraging words on my blogs. I appreciate them. How old is your son? My son went thru a phase called "night terrors" that was pretty scary. It was like he was terrified of something but we couldn't get him to wake up. But he outgrew it, so I'm sure this too shall pass with your son.

I am still procrastinating housework LOL

Merry Christmas!

Mornin ladies! I got to sleep in today after being up late with my son. He's in a weird phase where he will scream and cry if I'm not standing next to his bed. So I stand there and rub his head if he cries or he holds my hand. I don't know what's got him scared, but he's scared about something. And since he's never slept a night without me at home, I know nothing bad has happened to him. Mom says it's just a phase as they realize they are completely independent and it's overwhelming. So all's good.

I have some serious grocery shopping to do today or tomorrow. I didn't get to attack my vanity like I wanted. My son was doing everything he knows he's not supposed to do. So hopefully I can attack that today. If not, then I don't know when. *L*

Anyways, you ladies have a good one. I have my August goals to map out, and I have my 100 day challenge to get mapped out so's I can DO IT! (as nike says!)

Hi everyone, I hope you all have a great weekend. My hubby is having a kidney stone flair up - so its waiting time to see if it'll pass or if he will need surgery - this is his third time.

Wow, I'm first again! Where is everyone?

I am still jet lagged. Last night my daughter came for dinner and I literally had to go to bed before dessert (around 6:30) and didn't wake up until 6 this morning. I didn't even hear her leave or my son get home from work. Hopefully I'm done with that.

I did wake up to beautiful gentle rain this morning and I'm loving it. Usually rain in Phoenix is hail and thunderstorms that last only 20 minutes.

I'm going to actually do the housework I said I would do yesterday today, so must go offline soon.

Have a great weekend everyone!

~Zoe emoticon
