Tracy - I am sorry about your Mom. I wish I had brilliant advice for you, but I don't. You just have to keep asking and trying to gently pushing her. Maybe try asking her to keep you company on the walk. Maybe she'll do it for you instead of her herself and it will at least get her started.

I weighed in this morning. ZERO lbs lost this week. This is the 1st time since I started May 4th that I haven't lost any weight in one week. Even when I went on vacation I lost 1 lb. This sucks!!!! I'm just going to have to push harder this week.

Answer - Two things motivate me. One is the competition with my husband. I'll be damned if he is loses more weight or works harder than I do. Second is my kids. I don't want to look like a failure or slacker to them. I want them to know that I do everything I can for me and them to be around for a very very long time.

Question of the day:

What motivates you to get out of bed in the morning? to lace up your running shoes? to make healthier choices?

My answer is to feel better and have more energy, I have to get up and start the day swimming myself to a healthier me. I took off 17 months from the pool, but now that I am back it the water I don't know why I waited so long.

I absolutely LOVE this song, btw! :D

How's everyone doing? I hope everyone is doing fine. Mitchell is home now with her folks. :) I hope the trip was a good one.

I got my Mom to join. Did I mention that? :) YAY! She and I are spending the day together. I don't know what to do because I know she feels bad. She's in poor health, but she's using that as an excuse to do nothing. For instance, we were supposed to go walking all week long, except for Tuesday, because she had a doctors appointment and was going to be out running errands all day long. We've YET to go walking together. One day it's her teeth hurt, the next, her head hurts....just something and no matter how many times I tell her that if she were to work out, she'd feel better, she gets pooey with me. So I wish I knew how to motivate her. Being gentle does NOTHING but let her run roughshod over everything, fighting back causes her to wall up and not listen. You know, that glazed look people get when they PRETEND to listen, but you know they've just shut you out. Yeah....she does that. And I LOVE my Mom. I want her around for a long while, she's one of my closest friends. And it breaks my heart because she's in such poor health and doesn't do anything about it.
