TGIF everyone. Shelly, you want to hear something really silly? You know how most people freak out at the big 3-0 or the big 4-0? I freaked out at 24. Not age 25, age 24. Why? Because I couldn't do stupid stuff and blame it on my age. I had to take responsibility when I did something crazy. I was so bad, my BF bought me an Over the Hill cake, complete with tombstones.

My fitness goal is to run a 10 minute mile. I could do that in high school when I ran cross-country and I'd like to do that again. Well, when I say I ran a 10-minute mile, I'd run an 8-minute mile, a 10-minute mile & that last mile would take me 12 minutes. I wasn't fast, but I was consistent.

Shelly, I know it might sound like a bad joke given my age, but I don't really like birthdays either! Until I got 18 every birthday was a true celebration but from then on? Not so much. I have the feeling that time really FLIES away and I really don't feel like I already lived a good quarter of my life :/ It got better in the last year though and I try not to think about getting older so much. I hope you can find a way to celebrate. Perhaps not getting older, but celebrating YOU because it's your day! And be sure to think of all the things you accomplished this year! =) Have you plans for a party with the family?
Oh and kudos to you for that weight loss! Really great job. You're so consistent in losing it! Way to go!

Tracy, I'm so glad you survived! That must have been horrible! Man, I'm sure you learn to appreciate life a lot more with that kind of experience.
And good job with the walking! I really like that you get into it. Sounds like you're really doing great! :)

The final exam in anthropology went well. I don't know my grade yet, but I'll sure let you know when I get all my grades!

The past days have been very active, I was on the road a lot and went to Goettingen and back to my parents house, I had a deadline for a protocol and I'm writing more exams next week and the week after that. No time for me in sight :(
I really hate those busy days plus the fact that I'm alone in this without my boyfriend. He is in that same stressy situation, but I don't get the chance to talk to him very often. He trains for a tennis cup at his club and he has to learn a lot, too. So I really hope the rest of this month passes successful and fast!

I really like the idea of a question of the day ;) And I think you picked really good goals! Not too hard or fast to get there and not too easy to achieve on the other hand. I have many goals set for myself. I want to reach level 36 on the XBX (still doing it every day!), I want to get shredded (first day of the 30 day shred with Jillian Michaels today), I'll try to get into shape for the hike at the end of the month and of course I want to climb that mountain on our vacation in september!

Shelly, don't feel bad about your birthday! It's your PERSONAL holiday! I love my birthday. That means that I've experienced another year (good or bad) and that I've not ticked anyone off enough to put me down yet, so it's all good. *L* Nah, I almost died in an apartment fire 13 years ago. So for me, I'm just now becoming a teenager again. (birthday wise, not mentally!)I think you should whoop it up for your birthday, girl! You are ONLY 8lbs away from GOAL! :D It'll be a couple of years at least before I can say that. I have to lose half of me, pretty much.

And to answer my own question...

My fitness goals are: I want to run a 5k. But before that I have a 1.5 mile relay for life walk in August. I also want to go hiking next spring. I want to ride a bicycle when my son is ready for riding. (several years from now! but I want to be in good enough shape for it, plus it's been so long I'll have to practice before he gets started!) That's it for the moment. :) If I like running I might try a 10k. We'll see!

Tracy - Good job keeping moving! Its admirable that you are sticking with the exercise despite any sest backs. That says a lot about you. I love the question of the day idea. I will answer below.

I weighed in this morning. I lost 2 lbs this week. I had a revelation yesterday. My birthday is next week! UGH!!!!! I absolutely despise birthdays. I know its silly and immature and completely irrational to behave and think the way I do about getting older but its what I do. My hubby asked me last night what I wanted to do this year and I burst into tears. (I'll chalk that up to "that time of the month") LOL With all that we have been through as a family this past year and all the times I have given thanks for surviving all that I have you'd think this birthday would be a reason to celebrate. I guess I need to quit wallowing and suck it up and celebrate.

FITNESS GOAL: My goal has been set and that is to run a half-marathon in March 2011. Prior to that though I will run a 5k at the end of August and a 10k in Oct. My oldest wants to run with me. Who am I to say no to fitness.

GOOD mornin' ladies!

How's things been you ways? I hope everything is going well. :) Yesterday was a decent day for me. I walked around a store for 3 hours killing time waiting on my car to be serviced. So though it wasn't HARDCORE walking, it was CONSTANT walking. So I counted it. Also my blood pressure behaved itself last night. My heartrate though....That is pretty high. It doesn't get below 106 sitting down most of the time. Which I know is kind of high, so exercise is the best way to go to lower it. Gotta work out that muscle!

So my goals today are 2 miles with Leslie (minimum), the strength exercises that are given to me by SP, and 5 minutes (times 2) of Zumba. The two miles with Leslie won't be hard to do, I walk all the time. I think I might carry my weights this time to "add" too it.

I'm also going to try for the low end of my nutrition guides. Not be off of them, but instead of BARELY meeting them by having too much, I want to just come into them.

So what are your goals for the day, nutrition and goal wise?

Oh and let's start a question of the day...

Question...

What's your fitness goal? You know that goal we foresee ourselves doing when we're at our most fit. What's yours? I'll come back later and tell you mine.
