Wow, Tracy! Well, like you said, that could explain some things. I guess it was lucky timing that you got dizzy while you were there, now you can monitor your blood pressure and see what happens. Hopefully it will go back to normal and it was just a fluke, or has something to do with exercising in the heat.

I've had a frustrating day myself. Yesterday afternoon, the air conditioning in my car gave out. My husband had the day off today, so he planned to take it in to have it fixed. He stopped at the grocery store on the way to the repair shop, and the battery died. He got a jump and took it to the repair place, but noticed that it was overheating. Repair place said there are two major leaks in the air conditioning system and it will cost $1000 to repair, plus, it will be a week before they get the parts in. They thought the engine overheating was related to that. Oh, and they replaced the battery. We decided to get another repair estimate. My husband took it to the second place. They don't do AC work, but looked at the overheating issue, and said I needed a new thermostat. So, at the end of the day, I've put $300 into a new battery, new thermostat, and a diagnostic assessment of my AC. I still need to get another AC estimate in hopes of NOT having to pay $1000 to get it fixed. If only it wasn't summer in Georgia, I might not even deal with it.

So, nothing major, just frustrating. Hopefully all will get back to normal soon.

I hope everyone has had a good "humpday". Tomorrow is one day closer to the weekend!

Don't feel bad! I'm right there with you. I'll lose some weight, then gain a little back, get depressed and quit. And I've done that so far but like you I recognize it and am going to keep on trucking! :D But don't forget, muscle weighs a LOT more than fat and takes up much less space, SO those inches lost COUNT big time. Especially the closer you get to goal. So don't discount them for the scale. I am currently in a hate mood with my scale. It wants to keep me in the dark with my weight.

SO, update on my son. He got his DTaP shot. His last one for a very long time. No more shots until he's 2 years old. We had a question about his toe stepping, and she doesn't like that his arches are different and he's over-compensating with his right foot. So she's sending him to a specialist (in our hospital, YAY) to see if it is something that he will outgrow, or if it needs attention. While I was there I got VERY dizzy. So Patricia, the nurse, took my blood pressure. It was 140/80. Which is BARELY high. However, my NORMAL blood pressure is 100-105/60-70. So this is significantly higher. So since the last time it was like this, I was pregnant, they did a pregnancy test. It was very negative. YAY! However, now I have to monitor my blood pressure for 6 weeks. Unless it gets dangerously high before then. I go back in and see her. So, her rules are as follows. NO exercising outside PERIOD. (bummer, no 1.5 mile walk in August unless she approves it first) No intense cardio. I can do mildly intense in short bursts. She said until we can get it back down, to stress it with no meds is unwise. She said walk all I want on a treadmill at a good pace. One that I can carry a lengthy conversation without being winded. She said zumba would be ok, ONLY in short bursts though because it is very aerobic. She said if this is an issue, it could be part of my fatigue and my inability to lose weight. So we'll see in 6 weeks. And all this from a well baby visit.

OOOOKKKKKKK so the last two weeks have done a number on me, what with vacation and then the fourth :( I have gained back 2.5 lbs and only lost 4 to begin with...however, this is usually a hump that I come across and then, give up...I recognize it and I vow to not let it happen! I had an amazing workout today and have renewed my promise to myself to continue beating myself in the butt until I get back to the original 4 lb loss I had going on! My inches are still down, but we all know how much the scale means :( ! Thank you ladies, for being so motivational! I look at your weight loss and know that I can do it too! This might sound all sappy and such, but SP really has given me a way to stay motivated!!!

Shelly, HUZZAH! for running without pain! That's always good. You will get back to where you were. It took you time to get there before, and it will again because it's been so long. But don't stress it. :) It will all come back to you. Remember, it's not WHEN you cross that line....it's the crossing that matters! And I'm not worried about his speech. He does talk. It's garbled up at the moment. His dad and I and a few that are around him ALL the time understand him. But he's trying. Mom said I wasn't very clear either until I was closer to three. I will still mention it to his doctor and see what she says. This has just been her response in the past. She's generally spot on if I bring up something that concerns me and she thinks it needs further investigating. I brought some strange "fits" that he was having to her attention last fall, and IMMEDIATELY got me an appointment to see a pediatric neurologist in Nashville at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. And that was taken care of. He had his third SEVERE asthma attack in less than 6 months and she's got him an appointment with an pediatric allergist to start to figure out why. So if she's not worried about his speech, I won't be worried. I'm just sad that she's leaving. She's such an amazing doctor.

Good morning!

Mitchell - Good luck on your final today! I think I have asked this and you have answered but for the life of me I can't remember. What are you studying? What is your degree going to be? You should look for a race. I think it would be awesome for you to convince the BF to join you. How fun! And yes, my oldest is a strong strong girl. Sadly she is surrounded by immature, irresponsible, narrow minded adults, (myself and my husband not included in that LOL).

Tracy - You know you could ask for an Early Intervention evaluation for your son's speech. At least you would have an independent opinion from someone who is a speech professional and it doesn't cost you anything either. It might be something to consider. Good luck on the shots today! They always break my heart because they cry so hard. emoticon

I ran this morning. My leg felt great! I wasn't able to run as far or as fast. That was a little deflating. But I shouldn't complain. I was able to do it without any pain and that's the best thing right now. I did TERRIBLE with my food yesterday. Dang PMS!!! My little ones were eating colored/flavored mini marshmellows that Grandma brought over for them. And I just couldn't stop myself I kept eating them. About 30 minutes later I had the absolute worst sugar headache and belly pain and I felt so ill. I really just wanted to vomit! Learned my lesson. My body is not used to sugar at all. On top of that I just did not eat good things in general, it was a very unbalanced day. Back on track though this morning. Scrambled eggs with bell pepper and lean ham and a little cheese and a big bowl of cantaloupe. Yummy!

Be good to yourselves today!

Mitchell, everything is good with him. We have "well-baby" visits at certain stages of his infancy and toddler-hood that checks and makes sure he's thriving and he's reaching milestones. This is also the time that they give him his vaccinations. The only problem I have with the health department, is just because he's not doing something like "mimicking" someone doesn't mean that he's behind. He will look at you like you're a dummy if you try to get him to say something. But he says things like "dinner" and he'll call for a "bwue bob-bhoa (blue bottle) and will not accept anything other than the BLUE bottle. Now, I'm not sure if he's genuinely recognizing colours because he's not repeating, or if he's remembering what we call certain things and does it on recall. But they're wanting to look into speech therapy, and asking me to talk to his doctor about getting him tested for certain things. Which his doctor just laughs off and says that he's perfectly normal. And that some babies skip certain stages. And of course, because he's SHY they never hear him utter a peep! *sigh* But if his doctor isn't worried, then I'm not worried.

And you should find some running events there. :) I'll eventually be doing a 5k. I probably won't be doing one THIS year, but I will be doing one, I'm hoping next year. :)

I get to take lil man to see his doctor today. It'll be a bittersweet day for him. She's been his doctor since the day he was born and now she's moving back home to Miami to be closer to her family. So I'm going to have to shop for a new doctor for him. And since it's our family practitioner, I'm going to have to shop for a new doctor for me as well. I have one in mind, but I'll have to interview him and make sure he's on par with what I need for my son before I make a decision.

Oh and things are going well for me on the staying consistent note. I'm still eating within range, and I'm still exercising. My weight is still being a bit of a strange phenomenon of floating upwards a LOT then dropping down a little. But while we're at the doctors office today, I'm going to ask her about it and see what she says. (this is why I love family practitioners instead of pediatricians)

Good morning ladies!

Tracy, everything alright with you son? I sure hope so!

Shelly, thank you :) if I had the money I sure would! That'd be SO much fun! Really, it was a fantastic idea to start that challenge. I have to look out for some running events here so I can perhaps challenge my boyfriend ;)
I hope your daughter will get through this. It sure is tough for her!
With all that stress make sure you manage somehow to get some time for you in!

Tricia, I hope things get back to normal for you and you find the motivation you need!

Darla, wow! That sure sounds like busy weeks! I hope everything will go well and you'll have the relicense. YOu're so dedicated with it, I'm sure although it is a lot of work, it won't be a problem in the end!

The doctor said my patella looks diffrent from a normal patella. It looks like it was like this since my birth but noone ever noticed. It has a tendency to jump out to the side because of its form. But he said with a little training and a bandage I should be doing okay as I'm too young for an artificial patella. I just wanted you guys to know that I'm alright and that it went... okay.
I've gotta hurry! Final anthropology test today, I have to drive to Goettingen and I don't want to be late!

Wishing all of you a great day!
