I was struggling with this as well. I spoke to a friend of mine who is a nutritionist and she recommended whey protein powder. I ran over to GNC and got Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard in Extreme Milk Chocolate. It has 1g of sugar and 24g of protein for 130 calories. I normally have it right after a workout to help replenish all the torn muscle from strength training (they claim that protein helps you to not be as sore the next day). I have to admit its pretty tasty with some ice and skim milk in the blender.

Lean meats of course are great in protein. Turkey, chicken breasts, pork chops or loin, tilapia, and salmon are all good picks and give you lots of variety for your menu.

Spinach has a lot of protein as well. I love making a strawberry-spinach salad. When I need extra protein I toss in some left over grilled chicken. Makes a great meal!

Eggs are good a protein source. Make scrambled eggs in the morning and add some lean low-sodium diced ham or diced turkey breat and any veggies you like. I prefer onion, red bell peper, tomato, and sometimes some diced green chiles. You can add about an ounce of shredded cheese without making too much of an impact on your calorie intake. Good protein, good carbs, and decent calories. Plus all that extra protein keeps you full longer than a bowl of cereal or a cup of yogurt.

I like turkey breast or ground turkey. I am not a fan of fish but I believe that it's very high in protein. There is a link I found to a chart that might help with your choosing something. www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=nu

So I'm down 7 lbs but I'm falling short on protein every day! How do I get more without adding a lot of calories? HELP!
