I'm supposed to go dress, bra, and shoe shopping tomorrow. I have PT at 12:30 so depending on how my leg feels afterwards will determine if I go shopping. If I don't go tomorrow I have to go on Sunday. I have 2 weekends before we head to IL for the wedding and next week is so packed full of stuff I can't do it then.

I learned today that I do too much. My leg is a mess today. I went with my Mom and my 2 yo great-nephew and my 2 little ones to a big park. Rode the kids train and to the petting zoo and on the playground equipment. Then I watched my neighbor's 18 mo daughter for 3 hours. I will not do that much again for the next 2 weeks. What was I thinking????

So sorry that I haven't checked in before now. I left at 7:30 this morning and didn't get home until just after 5pm. Then it was time to fix dinner and eat it. I then got on the computer and it has taken awhile for me to get through my emails until I came to this one. Sorry that so many of you are having difficult times. I hope that you are all doing better soon. Congrats to all of you who lost weight.

Hope everyone has a good night and that today is a great day. I'll be gone all day again tomorrow so I'll check in tomorrow night.

Cecelia, great job losing 3 lbs! emoticon Your on the right way!

Zoe, most people in Germany speak English. We have to learn English at school! Only the elderly might have problems understanding you. I totally understand that feeling. I was in Greek once and I felt the same way about not even knowing ONE Greek word. But that is something I like about German schools. One has to learn at least English and in most schools one has to choose a second foreign language and may even choose a third later on. But it is more important for us to learn foreign languages, of course. Our country is small and nearly all countries around us have different languages. And English is SO important as a world language... All the music, all scientific papers, everything is in English! I have to admit that I sometimes even prefer English.

AArrrh, I'm not making any progress on my protocol! I'll have to try harder now.

Cecelia, I just spent 3 hours at my laptop, just browsing the internet! You found at least something out for your business ;) What is it going to be by the way? I'm curious, too!

Mitchell - I'm sure you'll do well presenting in English because your English here is very good. Do a lot of people speak English in Germany? I don't know but a couple of words and I'll be there next month. Ugh, I hate being the ugly American who only speaks English, which isn't true because I speak Spanish also. My brother has been there many times and he will be with me plus I'll be with a tour group. I hope your boyfriend's family gets well soon; so nice of you to support him. Try to have a good weekend.

Ginger - major kudos on avoiding the vending machines! The ice cream would have taken over my mind and made me eat it if it was that handy. You could put your vending money in a jar and have a slush fund to reward yourself with something in addition to the reward of just feeling better.

Shelly - hang in there, this too shall pass. While laying on the floor, can you do crunches? Or maybe something silly to make your kids laugh? I would lean toward silly myself; of course my kids are grown so now they would just talk about putting me in a home LOL.

Shelly and Mitchell and Cecelia - great job losing this week!

Elynnie - good attitude! You are probably building muscle which weighs more. Healthy is good and will defeat the evil chubby!

Cecilia - what business are you starting? I've been unemployed since last June so I'm thinking of doing something on my own when I get back from Europe.

I think I got everyone - go check out my pictures on my blog today to see what it's like to take a walk in Phoenix.

Merry Christmas!

Blah, I've been sucked into the computer for the last 2 hours!! I've got to get some stuff done around here. I don't know where the time went. Good news is that I found a website that will print business cards, labels, stationery, car magnets, and even design a matching website! I'm so excited to get started. Kinda scary to start a business.

And for even more good news... I'VE LOST 3.5 LBS!! YAY!! It's finally happening for me. I'm only going to track 3lbs and save the half for next time! I've got some motivation and momentum going. WOOHOOOOOO!! (Did I mention DH lost 20-25lbs while he was gone last month?? He was barely 180 to begin with. UGH!)

I'll read over everyone's posts later, and catch up with everyone!!

Have a fabulous day!!

~Cecelia~

My scale is refusing to believe that I'm eating healthy and exercising daily. I'm going to keep at this until that stubborn thing agrees! To keep up my morale (since I've actually gained a kilo!) I have decided that I have a new "skinny" girl lifestyle. I just need to keep up this lifestyle until my body falls into line!

There's no way I can be this healthy AND chubby!

Ginger, that is really good work. And I'm sure you'll be happy when you made preparing something there a habit! It'll save both, money and calories at the same time! Win win! emoticon

Shelly, emoticon 5 lbs?! That is awesome! Really good work! Looks like low carb works well! I gave it a thought and biologically it sounds convincing, so I'll cut out most of saccharine and flour. For fruits and veggies I won't set a limit other than my daily calorie limit because I think the benefits of fruits/veggies outweigh the disadvantages of their sugar.
Oh and of course I hope the blood will be reabsorbed!

I just came home from running. I ran 5.2 km in 50 minutes. For me, that is a new high score! Especially since it was a very hilly route =)
Today SHOULD be my weigh in, too, but I forgot my scale (right, the one I BOUGHT for this weeks weigh in! lol) and my boyfriend doesn't have a scale. He's as thin as a rake and never had weight problems so he never thought of buying one. Anyway I think I might already have lost an inch at my belly and that would be a good sign, too. The weigh in will have to wait until monday.
I'm going to take a shower and write a protocol afterwards. Keep moving everybody!

Ginger - That is awesome about not sticking money in the vending machine. You are right, it is not worth it. My husband said someone brought in homemade chocolate chip cookies to work this week. He grabbed a giant cookie and set it on his desk. He said he and the cookie stared at each other for next 3 hours. He then threw it away. lol It just wasn't worth it.

Mitchell - I'm sorry to hear about the boyfriend's Mom and Grandma. That's a lot of stress. Glad you are there to help him out.

On a really positive note, I lost 5 lbs this week. I have to idea how. I'm thrilled and am not going to question it. I just hope I can, at the very least, maintain where I am while I heel. I think I may go buy some resistance bands this weekend and work on some toning. The doc warned me about a hemmorage in the muscle and I woke with nastiness he said could happen. I have a pocket of blood in my ankle. It traveled toward gravity. It is absolutely disgusting. So I get to lay on the floor with my legs propped on the wall several times today in hopes that my body will reabsorb it all.

have a great day ladies!

Better day today! I had no idea WHY I was so grouchy and crabby and hate the world yesterday afternoon until I checked my food numbers. I had only eaten like 600 calories. I was hungry. I had no idea I was hungry though because I didn't feel hungry. So, remembering what you all told me to do... last night I ran over to the grocery store. I picked up high fiber English muffins, liquid egg substitute and light sausage links. I am going to see what happens if I pack my morning with fiber and protein. The real pain in the butt is packing it all up to take to work so I can fix it there.

I can see that everyone has such busy lives! My goodness it's really no wonder we all gave up on looking after ourselves!

Oh, and I thought of another little victory that others might be sharing with me. It's been at least two weeks since any of my money has gone into a vending machine at work! I have gazed longingly at the freezer machine filled with ice cream bars, but it's not worth it. emoticon

Good morning everyone!

Mom6, thank you! I actually meant I prepare the presentation. The presentation will be on the 23rd. I sometimes tend to translate German sentences to English with the same sentence structure and words and that is misleading sometimes. I'm sorry about that.

Shelly, congrats on your positive attitude! I hope you get better soon! I'll include you in my prayers.

Cecelia, I'm glad your husband is home! We all need support from our better parts ;)

Zoe, thank you :) The presentation is about sleep efficiency and power napping! The topic is quite interesting, but we have to present in English instead of German. I hope that will go well! We finished the preparations yesterday and I'm quite pleased with the outcome.
I'm glad your husband joined in! I'm sure you'll do even better when you have a partner at home in this!

I'm in Aachen with my boyfriend. His mum is in the hospital because she had a nervous breakdown and his granny is ill, too. So I wanted to support him here and do some healthy cooking and so on. That is also why I didn't check in yesterday evening. I'll go for a walk now and then I'll do some grocery shopping. I hope you all have a good day!
