Ginger, that's great! You make a good example of will power! Resisting when you have such a good excuse is even harder! emoticon

It was so hot last night in my bedroom, I bearly slept. That resulted in a completely tired me. I wasn't even hungry, so I skipped breakfast. And in addition to that my parents got something from Burger King tonight. :/ I didn't resist, but a salad with balsamico dressing and this (at least in Germany) new grilled chicken sandwich (only 330 kcal and very little fat) were not SOOOOO bad. Although something homemade would have been 1000 times better and healthier, no question.

At least I was outside a long time. Walked the dog in the morning and walked by myself in the afternoon (our dog didn't want too! I guess it was too hot for her ;) ).

I hope you slept better and enjoyed your sunday! :)

I did see Supersize Me. I loved it. Then I went to get McDonald's. I kid! I kid! I did see it. I thought it was a good movie.
If I eat there I generally get a happy meal. 1. small portions and 2. I want the toy. However, I didn't go to McD's for lunch. I went to the supermarket and hit the salad bar. Picked up strawberries, turkey, couple of eggs, broccoli, grapes and green peppers. Oh, and a chocolate mousse type whipped yogurt. Oh my heck, was that delicious!

Ginger- If you hadn't seen Supersize Me yet, then you should. It will keep you from EVER wanting to eat at McDonald's again. I think the grocery store would be awesome. Get some yogurt and some fruit and some jerky and I'd be in business! PLUS the jerky would make some decent snacky foods for when you need a quick eat. If you don't want the meat, then some planter's mixed nuts.

Guess who was late for work this morning!! I was still sort of asleep and wondering why I felt so rested. Opened my eyes and it was 5:45 and I am supposed to be there at 6. It was completely surreal. I don't think I have been more than 5 minutes late for work ever. So, as a result I forgot my lunch and everything. I did manage my water bottle. There is a McDonald's right up the block from me but I think I can resist it. I like McDonald's but it's not that great. I will just hop the train tracks and go to the grocery store on the other side. Everyone remember I said that because now I am thinking of the lovely Chocolate shakes and their plasticity. mmm

The bbq was a hit, but of course I couldn't resist to drink a beer and eat something besides my prepared food... BUT I resisted potato chips and only snacked salad. I'm really tired it was a tough day, I'm going to bed! I just wanted to report how the bbq went! Sleep well later on and have a good evening everyone!

Hey all - got back from the mall and library and now my son THINKS it's way too late for a nap:) Why when you are young do you NOT want a nap...then when you are a parent, u beg for one?:)

AuntR - hope your back gets to feeling better. My husband has disc prob's and it's no fun. Thinking of you....

Tracy - glad today is better! Tell your Mom to get online and join us too, lol The more the merrier:)

Cecelia - all I have to say is mmmmmmm coconut creme!!

Ginger - I love chic flick books too...right now I'm into anything mass market that I can replenish for 6 bucks:)

Zoe - goodluck car shopping. I feel for you tho...when my kids were younger and driving, I was an overprotective wreck:) It's hard to drive DEFENSIVELY when you are still learning mechanics of your own vehicle.

Shelly - our Farmer's Mkt here sounds just like yours. It rained today although I'd like to go next Sat. and get some strawberries. They are reasonably priced, organic, and SOOOOO SWEET:) Better than the ones in the grocery store BY FAR!

Mitchell - so glad you got out for a walk and talked things over with your BF. Long distance is tough!

Gonna go get a pedicure:)after my hubby gets home from work....did not exercise today and probably won't tmw as I want to visit with my mother. I'll be back at it on Mon. tho. BE GOOD TO YOU!

Sounds like most of you have very busy days ahead of you. I am going to try to take it easy today because I am having severe back pain. I think the herniated discs in my back are acting up again.

I went to the library yesterday so don't have to do that today. I will still get my workouts in today even though I'm not feeling good because I really don't want to mess up on my goals. My husband want to go to the grocery store. I didn't really want to but it is better to do it than argue with him in the state that I'm in.

I hope that everyone has a terrific day.

Well the market was a bust. It was absolutely packed. Lots and lots of really cute things, over priced, and nothing that I could find a place for. I would have loved to buy a set of these little colored crystal goblets but they were $80! Too much for something right now that is just going to sit in my china hutch. They sure would of looked cute next to my colored crystal martini glasses. Oh well, I'll use that $80 towards my impractical shoes. We haven't made anywhere else as the kids were tired and hungry and wanted to come home. So here we are. I'll probably leave them here with Dad and I'll go do some shopping therapy. Need to work out yet, maybe late tonight when it has cooled off some.

Good morning ladies! (I can squeeze that in, it's 6 minutes till noon here)

Yesterday was a completely sucky day! Today has started out better. The doctor put me on Metformin, and from past experience, I KNOW it's better to start off at night because if not....you'll have pains all day. That's how yesterday morning started out. But today, no pain. Thank you, Lord! And I am a stress eater. But for what all was going on, I did well. My Mom is scared, but she's doing ok. I'm hoping to get her on here to be a weightloss buddy with me. I think it would be awesome. And I think it would help her out a lot.

I ended up not going to the concert yesterday, even though it was a birthday present from my boyfriend. He understood why I didn't feel comfortable going, and instead we gave the ticket to friend of ours, who recently had a birthday. He's still sleeping, so I'm not sure how the show went, but I bet they had a blast. Instead, I cooked dinner for my Mom and niece. We hung out and talked last evening.

Shelly, I LOVE flea/street markets. But my wallet and house aren't fond of me when I get home! (I steal from one to stuff the other!)

Ginger- I crochet and sew and cross-stitch :) Yay for crafting!

Mom6- I absolutely LOVE listening to thunderstorms. I'm glad you get to visit with your mom. I couldn't stand living so far away from mine!

Mitchell- Men troubles come and go, just like them. The only advice I have is to not lose yourself. Compromise is necessary for all relationships, but never compromise yourself. I did that once, and it took years to find myself again.

Zoe- I've never been to the desert. It looks wildly beautiful. Like a fire or a snake. For some reason, it's almost as dangerous, but so beautiful anyways. I'm excited for your son. I know how excited I was when I bought my first car.

Cecelia- I'm glad that the financial situation calmed down. I probably would have had a stroke. I was in something similar and didn't have such a good ending, and refused to use banks for almost 10 years. OH, and I had a doctors appointment that same day and my blood pressure was 210/104. They were so scared that I was going to have a stroke they gave me a sedative that day. So I probably would have a stroke. You did much better than I could have.

If I forgot anyone I'm sorry!

Thanks everyone for the comments and advice! I'm really lucky to know you all! emoticon
I went for a walk with my mom and our dog and I spend the afternoon with two good friends in the city. I ate a piece of cake, but that's within my calories today. Although I have to be careful. For me it's often that I can't have a little because when I tasted it I want more and more and more. Most of the time I'm better off eating nothing sweet so im not tempted.
Tonight is a bbq at a friends house. Luckily everyone has to bring his own meat, so I don't have to fear the famous but fat Bratwurst! ;)
And about my boy... Oh well. We talked on the phone this afternoon, and I think it's going to be alright. He has a lot to do and often I get the feeling he has/makes/takes not enough time for me. And as we (sadly) don't live together yet I have to go visit him (3.5 hour drive for one way) and it's annoying to be on the giving end all the time. That is the problem. But he said he'd visit the weekend after the next and I'm fine with that. At least it looks like he is trying!

I'm interested in all your free time activities, as well! I knit and crochet, too! AND I'm into audio books, as I have to drive around a lot!

I hope you have a good day and thanks again for the support, I'm sorry I can't write more to every single one of you, but I'm in a hurry to get to the bbq! I'll check in later on :)

Mitchell, Boys will getcha down every time! I holdout on mine until he sees it my way too! I won't try to tell you that we don't need them because the truth is that we do. So hang in there.

Mom6-I love watching thunderstorms too, and the smell of the earthy rain. I'm glad your mom's coming for a visit. I'm fortunate enough to have mine just minutes away. It sounds like you've given your day some structure.

Ginger-Woohoo for staying in your calorie range. Wish I did that more often! As for fun, I have no idea. My life is so centered around my husband and kids that I have no life. My 2 oldest daughters do ballet, so we're at the studio 4 days a week. During the school year, we're there 5! There's just no time leftover for me at the end of the day after kids, husband and chores.

Shelly-Street markets sound like fun! I've thought about doing flea markets and such for my crafts, but I'd have to get a tax license and file quarterly returns. No thanks! I bought myself 2 new pairs of sandals just because last weekend. But sadly one of the puppies chewed a pair up before I could wear them. It broke my heart and made my stomach sick! Have a great time!

As for my wildly fun day... Laundry, cleaning house, swimming, and coconut cream and lemon meringue pies! On Sunday we're having one last going away dinner for 2 of my friends. My bff is moving to Las Vegas, and another is moving to Florida. I'm gonna be so alone. I've also got the post office and library to squeeze in. I need to find puppy training books before I drop these 2 off at the shelter!! They're killing me!

But today is a new day day, and yesterday is finally the past. I'm gonna try hard today.

~Cecelia~

Let's see. I like to bake (not cook). I knit, crochet and bead. I *heart* reading but I don't get much time for it which is why I listen to audio books on my commute. Mostly chick lit sort of silly things that just make me feel happier that I am up at 5a.m. lol

56_PICKLES - What sort of stories do you like to write? I love your name, by the way. My son didn't talk much (what we didn't know was an affect of autism) but he would say "eetsa peekle" when you asked him what a pickle was. Of course, he will read you a Lego catalog from cover to cover now with added commentary from various Youtube reviews. LOL

Good morning! I hope you are all getting out and enjoying the day.

Mitchell - Good job not eating from the bf and university problems. Stress eating is not a good habit to get into, I know from experience. You are still young enough to avoid that route. I agree with teachrmom6, Ginger, and Shelly with the advice they've already given. Hang in there - men are like from another planet lol.

Teachrmom6 - rain and thunder sounds so nice. We get massive thunderstorms in the summer here and the rain comes so violently and short lasting. I miss the California rain that would just be gentle all day. This weekend we are suppose to see 110 degrees F.

Ginger - great job on the calories! Hmm, fun? I like to read (books and internet), write (journal, stories), puzzles, games, or if I can go somewhere, I like the zoo or botanical gardens or museums or rarely horseback riding. What do you do?

Shelly - the Paris Street Market sounds like fun. On Saturdays (except blazing hot summer) the park near my house has one of the city's biggest Farmer's Market. In addition to fresh, local produce they have arts and crafts. It's nice to be able to take a dog and walk around.

This morning I am off with my 18 year old son to buy his first car. He got money for graduation from his grandmother and he is very excited. I'm sure I'll survive him being able to drive on his own (he has only had a permit up to this point) because I survived it when his older sister went through this. I just worry. A lot.

After that, I'm not sure what. Usually Saturdays are reserved for my hubby and me as alone time.

Have a great Saturday!

~Zoe emoticon

Merry Christmas!

Ginger - Its fun finding out something is better than you thought. Its almost like getting away with something. lol When I am not exercising I am running my kids everywhere. My oldest to her activities and off with friends. My youngest 2 to parks, museums, library, playgroups, and things like that. The husband and I get a date night once every couple of months. I don't have much time for other things. Making changes to fit in excercise negated freetime. lol

Mom6 - We're going to the library today too. I love that my younger 2 get to participate in the reading program and get to pick at books at the end of it. I think its a wonderful program.

Mitchell - Don't let that boy get you down. Get something to eat and head out the door for a walk. It doesn't need to be for excercise, just to clear your head. Put on some funky music on your headphones and put a spring in your step. It will help you focus on your studies and hopefully help you deal with the boy. emoticon

We're heading out today. Going to an outdoor mall that has something once a month called Paris Street Market. Its pretty neat. Vendors with all sorts of stuff to spend my money on. Furniture, clothing, antiques, jewelry, and other crap I don't need. The husband always goes just to be my financial compass. lol Then its off to the library to sign the 3 kids up for the summer reading program. At some point this weekend and next I am going dress and shoe shopping for my BIL's wedding. I'm actually looking forward to shopping. Told my husband I plan on buying 2 pairs of shoes. One for the wedding and one just because I lost 20 lbs. You know, something totally unpractical, unreasonable, like red leather stilletos. emoticon

Have a great day today! Not sure if I will make it back here. But I will try to at least see what everyone is up to.

Sorry ladies. I didn't see a Saturday post so I jumped the gun and made another!

Morning everyone! I was so excited that I stayed within my calorie range after checking my bread's nutritional info again. I was thinking it was high at 100 calories a slice but I chalked it up to it having lots of grains. Turns out it's 140 for 2 slices. w00t!

So what does everyone like to do for fun when you aren't exercising? Because we all know that exercising is the best part of the day.

MITCHELL - I am sure things will turn around with the guy. You just have to wait him out until he's willing to see your side. LOL I kid... a little.

TEACHRMOM6 - I really hear you with that unstructured time issue. Thanks for the reminder that I have to get my kids over to the library to sign up for summer reading!

Happy Sat. everyone! It's raining here in corn country:) and I woke early to sit outside and listen to the thunder. I'm so glad the weekend is here, it's been a busy week. My mom is from Louisiana and is visiting on Sun...can't wait to see her! Going to try to eat well today. Weekends are tough for me because my time is so structured during the week. Unstructured time I don't do well with:) Finishing up a book hopefully before my four yr. old wakes up, doing the library to sign up for the summer reading program, fighting the crowds at the mall to make some returns, and going to drop in on my SIL and new granddaughter while her mommy works today.

Michell - so sorry you have man problems. Think we ALL do from time to time. They are a unique species:) Prayers for you to rejoice in the strides you've made so far! I'll check in from time to time today to see how you are doing. EAT SOMETHING so that it doesn't catch up with you and you just grab something out of starvation:) God made YOU...HE doesn't make mistakes:) Blessings to you for this day....

Good morning everybody!

I hope you slept well and had a good rest of the day yesterday!

I'm really down today. Problems with the boyfriend and not feeling able to work for university aren't a good combination. I haven't eaten too much because of it or anything, it's just... I'm in a really bad mood. I hope your day is better and you keep motivated!
