For many months, I've been riding my stationary bike for exercise. I like that alot. Then, with the snow we've gotten this last week....I've shoveled snow everyday as my exercise. That actually burns less calories than the bike! Boo Hiss. Recently, I bought myself a Richard Simmons DVD (and if one can get over the sillyness factor, it's not bad)....at the same time as that purchase, I got my DD a Jazzercise DVD that she asked for. I tried out the Jazzercise last night and Whoa! they're fast! I had to follow the person to the side doing "low impact"...and still worked up a sweat! I'm currently doing the 28 Day Bootcamp Challenge Team here on SP. I like that a lot b/c it's keeping me focused on daily exercises. The feeling of accomplishment is great, too, and makes a little bit of soreness worth it.

I just started a 12-week half-marathon training program. The programs incorporates two days of strength-training, 1 day of rest, and gradual increases in running. I'm excited! :)

I think varying my workouts has really helped me stay motivated. Today I did Zumba, yesterday I did step aerobics & weights, the day before I did intervals of walking/jogging with my dogs. Tomorrow I plan to do a cycling class. Thankfully we have a membership at a great gym, so I have tons of options to keep me interested.

Yesterday I did not get out of the house early enough to do my run before my kids woke up or my husband had to leave for work. So I went old school. Today I realize that it kicked my butt. I simply jumped rope, did push ups and sit ups. My arms hurt today for the push ups. My abs are screaming at me, didn't know I actually had muscle under the flab. And muscles in my legs hurt that have never squawked during my runs. I think I may start to incorporate that in my schedule at least 2 days a week if not 3. I jumped 50 rotations, 10 sit ups, 10 push ups and repeated until I crossed the 30 minute mark. I was huffing and puffing and sweating.

I had already joined the gym before I found SP, and I committed to my trainer to do cardio 3 times a week and weight training 2 days a week. I am on the treadmill for cardio for the most part, but tried a water aerobics class last week and really enjoyed it. I do a full body weight training twice a week, and I'm slowly adding more machines/exercises. I like working on the stability ball, it makes me do 2 things at once! I need to try some of the fitness things I have on my Wii, and I'm gonna look for that Jillian Michaels 30 day shred, it sounds tough.

I do 20 min of weights 3x a week to hit each major muscle group, then I hop on the arc trainer for 30 min right after and finish up with sit ups. Then on Saturdays, I found a zumba class close by and absolutely love it. The FI and I also try to walk 2 miles on the weekends when we can.

I walk, a lot, and do Jillian Muchaels 30 day shred. I love the shred, but I don't do it on a daily basis. I've made it to level 2 and definitely have seen a difference, and feel more energetic on the days I can squeeze the exercise in :)

Another member posted something about a Zumba class, and I have to say- those are a lot of fun! Right now I am doing an exercise DVD called Insanity. It is definitely no walk in the park, but I really am enjoying the challenge. If you are the type of person that likes to be outdoors you should try hiking, walking, kayaking, biking, or running. Out of all the things I have done over the years, my body has always looked the best when I was running consistently. If you have never been much of a runner, there are a lot of free programs you can find online that ease you into running with a combo of walk/run intervals. Hope this helps!

I had a Wii game by Jillian. Of course a fitness game... I really didn't like it (partly because of her xD) and sold it on ebay the second day I had it!

I usually try to go running/walking two times a week and substitute running/walking on the thrid cardio day with Wii Fit. Especially when the weather is bad!
Monday, wednesday and friday I try to do the strength exercises the "my fitness" page indicates and sometimes I work out with a pilates DVD on sundays.

I've heard good things about Jillian's 30 day shred. Not sure I could stand her as a trainer though. I may hurt her through my tv. lol

I've been walking and jogging. I like it. Not in love with it yet but I will soon. On days that its too windy or too hot I use our elliptical. I don't like it as much because I'd rather be outside and frankly it kicks my butt. I was going to do a Zumba class last week but instead I'm going to try it this week. Plu s I plan on going to the rec center and lifting weights once a week. My oldest goes to youth group next to the rec center so I have no excuse not to work out there for the 90 minutes that she is there.

I am just wondering what kinds of things you are doing to get your exercise in. I have my Walk Away The Pounds videos which I love. Leslie is so sweet and encouraging. She tells you how great you're doing and talks about how she knows that lifting your leg more than a millimeter from the ground is hard work! She's such an angel. emoticon

Then there is Jillian emoticon and her horrific 30 Day Shred. I hate Jillian and she knows it. I tell her every time I see her. She makes me do jumping jacks while she smugly says "I have 400lb. people who can do jumping jacks so I know you can do it." This statement is followed up by plenty of acronyms and 4 letter words by the audience.

Aside from those 2 things though, I haven't been doing much else. What have you been doing? Is it going well? Do you love it or hate it?

Allons-y!
