I don't like moving either. I am just starting this Spark thing and it is hard. I have walked a little everyday and have been trying to drink more water.

Thanks for being my friend!

Good luck with getting the walking in. I don't think I would get my exercise in if I was working right now. I did 57 minutes of riding my exercise bike yesterday and I feel great. emoticon

I don't want to exercise. I get up at 4:30 to leave the house by 5. I drive an hour commute and get to work at 6. I sit at my desk and type until 3 when I get back in my car to get home about 4:15. Then it's homework with the kids (one of whom is high functioning autistic and he takes TONS of prompting to get A LETTER on the page), make dinner, shower and get in bed. That being said... I have made myself a deal. LOL emoticon If I can do the Walk Away the Pounds 1 mile walk (18 minutes) dvd then I never have to exercise again if I don't want to. Of course, I then have to tell myself it wasn't so bad and the house didn't catch fire when I was doing it/my husband didn't mind making dinner or whatever and I should do it again tomorrow... but then I never have to do it again if I don't want to...

I am usually good on the exercise thing (although I may lose motivation for about a week at about the 3 week marker). However, it's counting the calories and measuring food that I'm not so good at. If the food I'm eating has all of that information on it, then it's all hunky dory but let's say I'm cooking something or eating food that someone else has cooked, then it becomes a headache. Wish there was a maching that told me exactly how many calories I'm eating once I put it in my mouth~ emoticon

Exercise is a two-edged sword. The lactic acid that builds up when we exercise creates water retention and CAN cause the SCALE to go up the day or two AFTER. It's often discouraging:(. Strength build muscles which burns fat even when at rest...but cardio strengthens the heart to pump and deliver oxygen to our bodies which also will cause us to lose. The goal is to do SOMETHING everyday. Incorporate "exercise" in your own daily routine works best for some. Squat while folding laundry...do abdominal work while the kids/you are watching TV...squeeze your buns together while sitting in a chair for 2 sec. then release and do again. Walk from the farthest parking spot instead of driving around looking for a closer one. All of those are minor changes that will equal big results for ALL of us. Now if I can begin to do again on a DAILY basis, lol. Goodluck!!

“Don't wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles, and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful.”

For me it is a matter of having the determination that I am going to do it. It has been 2 weeks since my doctor told me how much exercise I should do a day and Yesterday is the first day I did it. I had to be determined that I was going to do it. I now have the determination and am going to strive for my 45min a day 6 days a week.

Well I have the same problem. I am super sedentary computer addicted fatness.

All I can say is. Get over it. (to both of us)

I was watching Dr. Oz yesterday and a woman in the audience asked if cardio or strength training was better for weight loss. Apparently when we strength train the muscles trying to rebuild themselves burns calories long after we are through excercising. This is maximum results.

I am one who needs to see results or I lose motivation to push myself to take good care of my health. I'm not sure if you are this way, but if so you may want to look at sparks strength excersises. I plan on doing stuff as I watch TV at night.. strength excercises. Ill do the treadmill 30 minutes also.

Good luck at finding your motivation to move.

I'm doing good on meal counting, great on water but I suck on exercise. I know that this is the key to start the major weight loss but can not get motivated enough to walk across the street. I need to do this, but its the worst part of this whole new journey thing!
