I suppose things are different because I'm a 62 year-old woman.
I slowly slipped as planned into eating LC. But after 3 weeks and no weight loss to speak of -- not even the initial rush of water loss, I decided to go VLCHF -- and with that decision it was clear that I am most attracted to the Keto Diet. I needed to figure out how Keto differs from VLCHF and I think I've got it. I decided to begin with a "fast" that is protein-sparing -- after all, I want to keep my muscles!
So, I'm keeping carbs very low without subtracting fiber (less than 20, less than 15 so far!), figured out my protein requirements (my macro-nutrient levels), and I work at eating enough protein while keeping fat at levels to give results in-or-below my total calorie range. It is working! Weight loss is finally starting to happen!

Right now, I'm concentrating on eating EGGS for breakfast and lunch. Fortunately eggs can be prepared in SO many ways.... so I'm not bored crazy! I try to incorporate some veggies in these two meals. I let dinner be the meal I use to round-up my macros to achieve goals. Usually all I need is more protein. And I have the luxury of being able to fit in a bit more veggies.

So far so good! I had a lovely egg omelet this morning filled with Sicilian Spinach, and mushrooms!

I hope you are doing well and the sleeve surgery is continuing to give you results as hoped. They say gastric surgery can be difficult to adapt to!

I have slipped. Lately, my breakfast has consisted of a buttered tortilla smeared with a bit of jam, accompanied by a cup of hot tea. I do love hot tea! I'm trying to return to my normal LC diet, but it's hard to get back into it when the tortillas are just sitting there -- ready to be eaten without having to haul out ingredients and cook. Suppers are under control though -- because I've always cooked suppers from scratch!

Smoothie made with chocolate almond milk, metamucil, oatmeal & 1 banana in it.

Health coach 3 month program starts March 12,every Monday by phone. I have chronic kidney disease and low blood pressure & blood clots in both lungs for 3 years..I am 55 years old. I do walking and ride the bike at the gym 65 minutes, 3 times a week . I hope to start yoga in April.
