STRESS EATING

I'm going through a tremendous amount of change right now with closing my business, possibly relocating cross country, etc. and I'm fighting the urge to stress eat. I'm keeping low calorie hot chocolate, tons of fruit and veggies on hand to help me when I want to snack. Oh...and I also bought a mixture of bulk peanuts and dried peas to eat when I need a salty crunchy snack. Just a pinch though due to the calories.

one of my biggest challenges to keeping my weight under control is eating out with friends. A friend asked me to go to a culinary school where they have a restaurant. i told her i could not go as i was to busy. i just didn't finish the sentence. i was too busy 'staying on my health program'!!! so this time, i was able to stay on track....i'm hoping to keep my 'slips' to a minimum!!!

IF IT IS NOT GOING ON THE FOOD JOURNAL - DON'T EAT IT!

One of the things I've found is I will eat something I shouldn't and then not journal it - or just not journal that day. I need to face the music every day. I need to see what I am doing to my body and then at the end of the week when I weigh in I can look back and say, "yep it all started with that donut!" etc. It is easy to see what causes our weight to fluxuate when it's right there in writing.

HAVE WHAT I NEED ON HAND

I find that if I don't have what I need before I need it, I start eating whatever is on hand. That can and does lead to a string of not eating right.

For me, I need to make sure that I have my smoothie stuff on hand well into the next shopping day so that I don't run out and not have my healthy breakfast. So I will plan better to not run out.

I also run into this problem if I have what I need but it is old. So I need to make sure to not buy too much that it will go bad. For fresh fruits and veggies, I need to shop more often. I am also freezing fruits which will make the smoothie nice and cold without watering it down.

Please post what you have encountered on your health journey that contributed to not staying committed to your healthy journey here on this thread.

Try to title it to show a subject so we can all use it for reference as we attempt our daily journey of HEALTHFUL COMMITMENT. As we each look our posts over along the way, we can search for some insight and perhaps a little strength to carry us through....In fact, one may even be a 'note' to your future self to help you get through a day and NOT make a bad choice! Hmmm....sounds a little like a Back to the Future show, eh?
