ORTATK - i know exactly what you mean. We had our previous dog put to sleep several years ago, and stayed with her through out the procedure. She looked up at us at the very end and had such a peaceful look on her face that we knew we had made the right decision. It was if she was saying thank you.

Thank you, LAPERLE, we did euthanize the cat and as I stayed for her she did look so peaceful and comfortable which she had not looked for a few months.

On my way to my new normal.

Had some SNOW this morning! That really is a bad four letter word. It is gone now but I had an appointment just as it was snowing hard. This is October! Perhaps the calendar turned two page at once and thinks it's later in the year?

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Good Morning team,

Just a quick run through to say hi.

Sorry to hear about your cat, we have put down 6 cats and one dog over the years. It is always hard. Still miss each one for their unique personality, but always seem to grow and love another one equally as much.

Been crazy on my end with a day trip to Portland (about 6 hours round trip) board meeting last night and baking two batches of muffins and a breakfast casserole for a recognition breakfast at work this morning. I need to arrive an hour early to set things up as well.

Wish you all a great week!

Sandy

emoticon ORTATAK - It is such a difficult decision to end a pet's life, but it is always the most humane thing to do when you know they are in pain and suffering. I know you will make the right decision and be at peace knowing that you have done the right thing if that is what your vet advises.

What a crazy month. Finally putting the kitchen back together from my Spring-summer-autumn projects. Have painted kitchen and will do eating area before holidays. Will also need a new area rung under the table.

I am dealing with my cat once again. Vet and I have discussed ending her life, it is such a difficult time.

On my way to my new normal.

Just stopped by to share a story from SparkGuy about his whole experience. It was interesting to read, and goes to show that we just do not know from one minute to the next!

Rachelle, I can relate as to having the two teeth pulled. I don't like to go to the dentist at all. It is the appointment that I dread the most especially if I know I have to have my mouth frozen. I had a hematoma(sp?) many years ago caused by the dentist as he froze my mouth for dental work, and am uncomfortable every time he starts to freeze it. I opt to not have my mouth frozen for simple work on my front teeth so I am sure you can understand how much I dislike the procedure.

Good morning all,

Thank you for helping me reach out to GOLDENROD!

In case you missed the link posted on the team wall, SparkGuy's surgery was successful and optimistic for the future.

Rachelle, Dental work is the worst. I am not sure why, but I really dread dental work more that any other appointments I have for healthcare. Hoping you get a good fit.

I have the privilege of my oldest granddaughter visiting this weekend, and it has totally made my days! What a treat!

Eileen, wonderful job on getting all of the walking in as well as winter wood!

ORTATK, thank you for your optimism and support. Enjoy your grandsons football game!

Grands are the best! You are doing well on your goals, wish I could say the same.

I am off to enjoy the day with my girl!

I put a note on Goldenrod's page. I hope all is ok.

I have had some help with not overeating due to a sore mouth. Friday (before heading our with my GDs) I had two teeth puled and a temporary partial put in. My face has been sore all weekend. The partial needs some adjustment as it's chafing on one side. Back t the dentist next week!

It sounds like a great day Rachelle with you Grands.

Sandy I have been worrying about GOLDENRODFARM recently as well.
She was such a regular with a postings, I am hoping she is still OK. Summer can be very busy on a farm, but she has always found time to post in the past.

Just a quick drop in before I head to work today. Nice to see you all.

Has anyone heard from GOLDENRODFARM? I did send a sparkmail, but have not received an answer. I wonder if she is okay, or just does not have internet at this time.

Missing her and all of her farm stories.

Fun day today with my GD. We started the day off at the Children's Museum in Portland and then on to the mall for a visit to Build a Bear. Both were so tired that they were sound asleep before I got to I-295. It was a great day and I got lost of steps in!

Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Thanks Sandy for calling our attention to the fact that Spark Guy needs our support. We get his so often on this site.

Have done over an hour of exercise today by walking dog, piling firewood and doing a 2 mile walking video. I think I have hit the mark today.

Glad to see you here Rachelle.

Thank you Sandy for the link!

It's been a while since I've visited here. September was an incredibly busy month and October may be no different. It's all good though. My DH and I spent 3 days in New York and got to see a production of Wicked, along with a visit to the 911 Memorial and Statue of Liberty. I have also been busy with mom's estate and thankfully, and end is in sight. We closed on one of the two properties on 9/21. I will close on the other on 10/12. It has been a challenging experience and, unfortunately, relationships between siblings may have been impacted forever. Only time will tell.

Tomorrow is a Granny day with my youngest GDs. Still trying to decide what to do. They want to go apple picking. I was thinking of taking them to the Children's Museum in Portland. Maybe we'll do both!

Wishing everyone a wonderful fall October day!

I like October for all the reasons you have listed HIKERSAN, and I love to start cooking on my woodstove again no that it is cool enough to light it on most days. I will b e trying to get a few baskets made for the craft fairs that I will be doing this fall. I have been doing some as part of the classes I teach, but I need to do more of some of the more popular ones. Problem is that I am busy with the regular yard work, housework, etc. that leaves me tired on most days.

Good morning team!

I always love the month of October. We live in such a beautiful state with the autumn colors popping all around us! The temperatures are cool at night, and perfect for walks and runs during the day.

Time to put the gardens to rest, and get firewood in for the winter. It warms you more than once!

Apples, pumpkins, squash are plentiful additions to our menus. It is also the time that some of us did out our knitting, quilting, or craft projects. What will you be working on?

Feeling optimistic that it will be a great month!

Why do you like October?

Sandy
