Pat - I meant no criticism in my comments about being claustrophobic. I do realize that you have lived through more than I can even ever imagine. I think you have to be a very strong person to have lived through that. I just would rather live where I do than in a city, but I also get very claustrophobic at my daughter's which is on a dirt road with very few other buildings in sight. I like having people within walking distance, but just not too close.

It is a a very rainy day here. I got a pot of soup simmering on my wood stove very early, and am looking forward to it for lunch.

EILEEN, When you have been attacked when I was about 7 walking through the back alleys I was terrified of the dark. We had gas lights and the gas went out I flipped even in the house.
I love Maine. I would never be a city girl walking around as long as I had a vehicle.

My daughter was one of the contestant for Mrs. Maine. She is Mrs. Windham. No she didn't win, but what an experience for her. She has been working with a coach to guide her. Family and friends brought signs and voices to cheer her on.

It has taken me a long time to get here due to health problems. I wish all of you Spark's Hugs and you too will get there too.

Barb - All I do for vegetables are a couple of raised bed in the back of my house, and a couple of small ones against the kitchen porch. One of them usually has tomatoes and peppers and the other are perennial herbs. All of my flower gardens needs so much work. My daffodils and tulips (starting bloom now) are too close to the road, and I want to move them in at least to the point where plowed snow from the road won't hit them. I did have many colors of iris in this garden as well, but the weeds have been too much for some of the,m. I also have a flower garden against the house with a few perennials including a couple of peonies, but the years that I did so many summer craft sales left no time to care for any of the gardens except for the bare minimum of care in the vegetables. If only I had more energy and time now to as much as I want in all of these gardens, but I am but one person and the lawns, etc. take time.

Hope everyone is enjoying this sunny weekend. It is much cooler here today than yesterday, but I am in hopes of doing more to get the tree branches cut for firewood.

We made a habit of planting fruit trees every year since I have lived here, I don't really need more fruit trees but decided to try some nut trees, I didn't buy any that took longer then a few years to start bearing!

There was little in the way of any fruit or berries here when we got here, some plum and cherry trees and a pear tree that died that spring. I decided after about 5 years of no plums from mature trees to get rid of them and plant something that will have fruit up here. I found the paperwork to the trees that were here in the shop, from Gurnies and all out of our zone, so they lived but never bore fruit. I started the raspberry patch, blackberries, blueberry bushes, elderberries, grapes, black currents, and almost all the fruit trees. I grafted quite a few of them, this year I grafted 5 stone fruit trees on the stone fruit grafting stock in my garden that I got a few years ago, and my neighbor mowed down one year while I was gone. Fedco was a great place to get trees back then but now they are getting expensive, they used to be $12 each, now they are $29, the nut trees are only $16.

I have always loved to plant things, there were no gardens here other then a vegetable garden and that was on ledge and did poorly, we started one on the other side of the house. Now I have gardens everywhere. A lot of then have not had the care they needed in the last few years while I was working long shifts, but I hope to get them fixed up. I have a rose garden, herb garden, the terraces on the side that are in poor repair now, used to be a small pond and waterfall there too, I am hoping to get that straightened out, then there are daylilies and some perennials up by the fence that is no longer there, they need a lot of work, and the fence needs putting back up. I plant a lot of veggies in my raised beds in the courtyard, but also have a big garden including an asparagus patch. It was all easier when there was two to take care of things, but the gardens have always been my department.

Pat it has been a strange day all the way around. Kindle stopped working, and then I temporarily lost my Fitbit. Got the Kindle working again, and did find the Fitbit, but I lost at least an hour worth of outdoor work and steps. Will get the minimum number of steps to keep a streak going, but that is all I have the energy let to do.

I lost my talk to you all last night. It was long but it does not matter.
We are getting the yard ready today so we can fertilize the grass. I do not call it a lawn but it is nice and green Pat in Augusta.
Our son will help ( I HOPE) I think his wife might have plans but we must get it done it was too expensive not to do since we bought it.

Barb - You are so much more energetic than I. I would love to have established fruit and nut trees, but at my age it really doesn't make sense to plant them. I do have some apple trees, but they are mostly wild. My husband tried unsuccessfully to graft them so they do attract the deer when the apples drop, but the apples are not good for human consumption.

Pat - I think you are a "city" girl at heart, since I love the wide open spaces with fewer houses and would feel claustrophobic in the city as you are. Guess it is each to their own.

I used to use FEDCO, I helped start with MOFGA. Our Augusta Junior women helped to get the word out. That year I was the president and we were big in to ORGANIC Gardening.
That puts me back to 50 years. Our women's club was sending teens to Bryant Pond to go to conservation school for the summer. These were the people I knew at the beginning.
We were going to buy a friends farm and I was the one to do gardening it was in Windsor. The house and only 40 or 50 acres. Our eldest son was a baby. The Durrell's wanted to go to live back where there families were. They let us stay at the house for a few nights Friday to Sunday night and when I went out to look at the stars I was claustrophobic. There were no stars and I told DH no way can I live here. So we told PHIL he said his wife got used to it but I never have to this day. I like my back yard and seeing house lights on.

That brought up FEDCO and MOFGA so I ran amok remembering those days.

We have had rain on and off all day, sometimes really hard, sure is muddy out there! I went down to the Fedco Tree sale today, a fun day. I am planting some nuts this year, two each of walnuts, butternuts, and hazel nuts, plus an apricot and I found a green gage plum to replace the one the mice killed last year! I also got both plug spawn and sawdust spawn for 4 different kinds of mushrooms. While there I picked up a black iris, a dutchmans breaches, a red peony, and some sweet potato starts along with a few garden seeds. My neighbor came down with me, he got a couple of peach trees and some seeds. We had lunch at the Olive Garden, soup salad and breadsticks, I always ask for the dressing on the side and hold the croutons so it is more healthy. I had the /pasta-e-fagioli yum! Lots of fiber anyway!

Eileen I have tons of deer here too, it is amazing the tracks and droppings every where in the spring, there is a deer yard down in the swamp. We use to sit on the deck and count up to 300 deer grazing in the fields, sure miss my deck!

Pat - My problem is in my hip so that is why I dare try to fix it myself. If it were my spine I would probably not even try. I am fortunate that I can keep things "tuned up" with a few chiropractor visit and some re-setting that I can do myself.

It has been damp and cold so much this week that I am looking forward to when I can get out into warmer temperatures. When I do I will cut some firewood so that I can light the kitchen stove when I want to.

Barb - I have deer in my field regularly. Since the dog and I walk in the field daily, they have gotten used to our being out there, and will usually just look up see us and go back to eating. Fortunately the dog does not bark at them as I have trained her to be quiet and let the wildlife co-exist with us. She really is a good dog.

Had a dentist appointment for cleaning this morning. It was still very gray and overcast early this morning and hasn't really started clearing yet. Need to go do my workout.

Good Morning! Happy Friday! Grey and overcast still here this morning. With my luck it will be nice the weekend days that I have to be inside for rehearsals and concerts! I did some walking inside last night because it started to rain. Before that we re-potted some herbs, nothing major. Then I spent some time simply relaxing! It was lovely!

I have heard geese the last couple of weeks too, usually they pass over, often they land down in the back corner where there is a small spring fed pond, so they never come in the yard, they do make a mess! My younger brother had a huge problem with them at one of his schools, they were really making a mess in the playground, and you can't do much about it in a city. His problem was solved when some coyotes came to call and the geese left, there is certainly a lot of wildlife in cities lately! Mike has deer and turkeys in his back yard all the time, a flock of 17 turkeys come around daily, and I saw several deer in the morning when I was there, he gave up on his garden with the deer, raccoons and groundhogs all trying for a munch, now he plants up on his garage roof!

Aroostook Milling called me at about 1:30, to say the chicks had come in after all, they were stuck in Bangor and someone drove them up. I had already decided to do other projects and had an abrupt face when I got the call. I was not going to set up the area until after it got dark because I wanted to work outside. So it was a quick cleanup and shower and off to Houlton, I had to finish some stuff so didn't get up there until quarter to 5, they close at 5. Got my grain and while I was doing that the girl put the chicks in a big box, I was going to object to the size of the box, but it was late, it was way too tall to keep them warm on the way home, so they were a little chilled, but under the light for a while warmed them up nicely, and now they are doing fine, I covered the pen with some cardboard so they would stay warm, baby chicks need 100 degrees at this stage to keep warm.

I went for my walk at almost dusk, the frogs were peeping loudly and it is quite warm outside, actually warmer then inside right now! Way too warm for the cows to be in the barn at night, so I am letting them stay out tonight. So off to do chores!

EILEEN, I cannot set any of my problem spine. Disc 3/4 split opened and the pulpous spilled out so they took it out but left of course the bone is there. L5 and SI have a tear between the spine and sacrum and three surgeons told me the tear is there but do not mess about with it, so I do not.

I have had a lot of walking again but now my wrist feels fine so I am ready to do my bands and my dumb bells again. I have to have the shoulder evaluated with him and then May I will be using bands and dumb bells. I hope so.
Take care . I will need to have new resistance bands the rubber or what ever they are made of have perished and they snapped when I tried to use them. I wonder if I can buy just the rubber .I like the plastic goes so nicely on my shoes. Pat in Maine emoticon

I hope you get sunshine to dry up all the rain. I am looking forward to emoticon

Hi Eileen, I am happy to hear you can get your exercises and take the walks. You have rebound from your picking up the child.

Great you must be doing some thing right. I am waiting till May 2nd to see if I have to have rotator cuff tear. I prefer he can order PT and then I can use my Resistance bands.

Barb - I didn't have turkeys, although I have seen them in my backyard recently, but heard geese while I was walking the dog this morning. They were flying over the field to land in the mill pond across from me where they spend the summer. I have had geese years ago, and they, like turkeys can make an awful mess. I had a pair of geese feeding on one of my lawns last week--possibly the same pair that flew over this morning--and just hope they don't make a habit of crossing the road and feeding here.

It is looking much brighter here so we just might have a bit of sun this afternoon. I did a long video workout this morning with stretchy bands and all, but I will go out and do some yardwork to remove stones from areas I mow and smooth in some ruts left by vehicles in the wrong spots during mud season.

Hope everyone sees the sun today. If has been a long stretch without it.

Good morning, I woke to turkeys gobbling this morning, hoping they are not going to hang around, they really make a mess and I don't want them in my garden. The first couple of times I heard them, I wasn't thinking yet, I have raised turkeys many times and for years had Royal Palm turkeys, so the sound was familiar, but then realized, no turkeys this year! The wild ones are really getting to be pests to farmers, getting in silage bunkers and leaving behind lots of droppings you don't want to feed your cows, plus they attack grain fields. I saw a field not far from here with over 100 turkeys eating the grain, last fall.

No chicks today, guess it will be tomorrow, but tomorrow I am going to the Fedco tree sale, this is the weekend for people with orders to go get them, next weekend is the general sale.

Eileen, glad you are feeling better, seems like strains and hurts crop up more often now, I think I need to do more stretching to get more limber.

Pat, the snow is almost gone now, still a lot in the woods and along the east side of the line fences. I was planting bare root dormant plants, my trees will be picked up tomorrow, I got several nut trees.

I spent yesterday working on fences, fencers, plumbing in the barn and moving the chickens, luckily I had a helper on the move the chickens project, so I was able just hand them up through the trap door a purple at a time, I would have had to go all the way across the barn, up the stairs, and back across the bar with two at a time. Grant said after we were done, I guess I robbed your Fitbit of about 5000 steps lol.

I may go out today and dig some holes for my new trees, if it is not raining hard!

No appointment first thing this morning, so have spent a lazy morning. I had turned off the water heater as I usual do when I don't anticipate needing much hot water for a long time, and forgot to turn it on this morning. Got on the computer waiting for the water to heat, so now need to go wash and dress. I have an early appointment again tomorrow so glad this happened this morning. I don't like to wash in cold water, and the wood stove is not burning so no teakettle full of hot water either.

I think I have my hip back in line as it does not bother me this morning. The stretches yesterday helped a lot. Thanks everyone for your concern.

Tonight is the first night we actually get to be home for the evening all week! I can't wait! We have a busy weekend of rehearsals and concerts ahead, though so I had better use my time wisely!

Last night our middle son called to say he has a hernia and tomorrow he will be at the hospital so they could fix the inguinal hernia.
I had never told me about that he said he would be home. He is a bachelor and he lives in a huge house alone. That bothered me. He lives in Wisconsin and I offered to try to get a flight but he said there are people who will help him out.
I went on to the internet and found the hospital and I took their phone number. I knew he went to Hospital at 6am and the procedure was 7:30am. I left it till 10:30am and I asked if he was back in the recovery area. They said he was so I felt better. He said he would call but he called at 7:30pm and he was still at the hospital and they are keeping him in because he passed out. They took x-rays for his heart he said they will keep him in over night.

Eileen I am glad you are feeling better. I have had a very busy day. The beagle has hurt his back leg. Every time he moved he yipped out loud. He could not do steps and it was getting bad. They are at work and I adore this animal but I have no way to get him to a vet.
The afternoon the beagle did better and our son gave him some medication so we shall see.
I was supposed to go to the university but called another student had told them I will not be coming.
I did some baking for dinner and watching the dogs.
RITA, The Y in Augusta was supposed to be a therapy pool, that what it was made for. Instead thy wanted a slide for the kids and sure did speak up. The water is rarely warm. The laps pool is mostly for the swim team and the swimmers so, the little pool is much over used.
I just gave up. I tried Waterville but it was too far and too many cars at the car park. We have a pool but it rarely gets warm. It has been in the ground 43 years and I never wanted to use a gas heater for it. I might do another solar blanket it heated it up OK. I also need a wedding cake steps to walk down because my wrist will have to pull too hard to drag myself up for the ladders. WE NEED STEPS.I am hoping to find someone who is taking out their pool so I am looking for a set by the roadside.

I am so tired I have not been blogging but I have been doing long walks instead.

I do feel better, Rita. I have just finished doing a long walking video and then 10 minutes of yoga stretches. I couldn't do one of the stretches where you sit with your legs crossed and then walk hands out in front of you, but other than that I did the others.

I had decided that this is a good day to read and possibly knit. I think my dog feels the same way as she is not asking to go out. It was raining when we went out early this morning, and she hates to get wet. I'm with her!

Today I'm thinking that it's going to be a day of laying around and reading after I tidy up and get in some exercise. I'm just too chilly to get out is this messy weather.

Have a good day everyone. Feel better Eileen.

Thanks everyone for the concern for my aches and pains. I think I had dislocated my hip or back either picking up the baby or loading my dog back into my vehicle. It is a problem I have had many times, I I am usually able to get it back where it belongs by myself. Once I got a chance to let it relax and go through the various steps to get it back in line, it feels much better. May take a while to be completely pain free, but it is getting there.

As to the dog going out by herself, it will not happen as she is used tome holding her leash. She wants to be a distance from the house before she does anything, and there is no way I can accomplish this just hooking her out. Actually I don't mind taking her on a leash as I gets me to move and that helps limber up my hip.

Need to do a long enough work out today to make up for the shorter one yesterday.

Monday evening we had a concert, yesterday I had school, a staff meeting and then a district meeting! We didn't get home for dinner until 7.30. It was a looong day! We have one more evening out this week. Tonight we have a regular rehearsal and even though it is another evening out, it already feels more relaxed because it is less 'official' than the past two nights. I'm ready for an evening or two spent at home though! I can't wait to pull outside furniture down from the garage attic (and put away things like snowshoes)!!

If it is to be, it is up to me!

Hi everyone,
Pat - I only keep the insulin I use out. The problem was that I got the other one out so I could use it also. Then while I was busy thinking about 3 or 4 things at one. Running myself down, I just grabbed the wrong one. I'm pretty sure it won't happen again anytime soon. I'm thinking positive about it. I didn't keep eating the high carb crap after that insulin was out of my system. I didn't feel sorry for myself. I just got behind on my plans and am now playing catch-up. It'll be fine.
So your Y only has the 1 pool? If so, you should check, if it's being called a "therapy pool" then they're suppose to keep that water at a certain temp. Our therapy pool is downright bathwater warm sometimes.
Eileen - I hope you're feeling better. I'm sure you're already drinking plenty of water to flush the lactic acid. I hope you're back to normal tomorrow.
Barb - I don't know how you do all that you do up there. You are my hero.
Everyone have a Wonderful Wednesday!

TCD, is the water warm at the Senator. My Y in town has a nice pool but it is so darned cold. It was to be a therapy pool for arthritis so it should be warm but they prefer to keep it much cooler so I quit swimming there. We have a pool in the back of the house but it takes a lot of sun to warm up 40,000 gallons. The comfort Inn has one but it is smaller. I will call the senator to see their rates.

EILEEN, My son in Wisconsin has to go to the hospital tomorrow. He called to tell me the day before. I told him I would go over to help but he said he will be OK so I will have my cell phone on all day even at the lecture at the University. He is a Bachelor and he lives in a big house. He said there are people who will check on him so I would like to see him and his house.
I hope you have had some kind of anti-inflammatory Take it easy I hope you are less painful in the morning and hopefully your little dog will be able to go outside by himself ,maybe on a line. Do let me know if you are still aching tomorrow.((((HUGS)))) Pat emoticon

Barb, you are planting and I thought you had snow still. We have showers till Thursday and Friday is supposed to be better and warmer.

RITA perhaps you should keep your Insulin you are using out and the other one put in a baggie so you will be able to tell you which is which.
I have been busy and our son in Wisconsin is having a Hernia fixed. He is a Bachelor and I wanted to go over to help him. He said no. I did check out the hospital. I will call tomorrow and get his room and check if he is OK. All of our kids and my DH and his sister. He was in fourth grade when they did his hernia and his father went in the same day. The kid came home the next day and DH stayed 3 days. Both of them had the old fashioned Hernia patch so they might need to get the mesh out. I will wait and see. Had a chiropractor's appointment this morning, and then went out of town to visit my sister-in-law who had her grandchildren for a couple of days. I had only seen the oldest once before and never seen the younger who just turned one. Had a good time, but think I shouldn't have picked up the younger one as he is not walking yet and is quite heavy. Hard to tell if my aches are from the early appointment, driving as far as I did or from picking up the little one. At any rate I haven't done as long a workout as I would like, but my body is telling me NO loud and clear.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Morning all, I am coming up for air after a busy week. This time of the year the Ed. Committee goes on hyper-speed trying to get through all of the bills by the end of the session. This means I'm spending time writing testimonies, giving testimonies at public hearings and attending work sessions. Makes it hard to keep up with everything else. I'm looking forward to Splash aerobics at the Senator tonight. I started attending a couple of weeks ago. it's a great workout and I always find the water very relaxing.

Keep your umbrellas handy today.

I pretty much ruined my day by giving myself the wrong insulin. I've had to take it easy and keep monitoring my blood sugars the past 4 hours. Now I can get outside. Going to do dog poop scoop duty. He's gained 2.5 pounds eating a weight loss dog food and yet he's pooping 3-4 times a day. emoticon

reThis morning we went to walk the rail trail. We started at 10 am and we were of the trail by 11: 45a.m.I walked with one buddy. DH uses the gazelle
We went with DH and our friend to McDonalds and I had a south west salad , no dressing just the lime wedge. I love that salad. I had coffee no soda for me. Never drink it -too cold and I dislike soda.
I used the plastic rake to rake the pool cover to catch the Pine needles and the Oak and Maple leaves. I had to drag the debris from as long as I could reach. Tomorrow we will have rain so the middle will make the cover deeper so I can get more leaves out.
Finally I vacuumed the pine needles that have been trapped under our taught cover. So far this cover has been great. We have the cover pulled tight using springs in the big Paving stones. This has been our easiest year after 42 years with the pool.
If only I wish I could have it very warm I would swim all day. Pat in Augusta.

Have we had enough rain and snow that it's not selfish to want sunshine for a few weeks? I'd just love some nice weather so I can play my "in-and-out" yard work. Go out a little while, in to rest my back, back out a little while longer......... I got a rake with my name on it and hundreds of acorns to go with my leaves that are stuck in the bushes emoticon

I have been raking the yards. I have flower beds that were covered with oak leaves from our English oak. The English Oak has very different leaves so I know these brown rusty oaks are mine so I picked them up and bagged them. I have been working in the house to set up my sewing. I have 5 pairs of pants to shorten that I bought last year and I have never worn them, so I have to get the blind stitch machine cleaned up. Pat in Maine.

Did spend some time outside today clean up a lot of glass that was on the ground. One of the porch storm windows had broken. Hope I got all of the glass cleaned up. Wanted to cut up more of the branches for firewood, but it was too wet after the rain at the end of the week.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

We had wet weather and cold all week just about but SUNDAY is SUNNY so I am going outside to see if I can do some more raking the grass.
We are supposed to get cold and they said better weather on Friday.
I know we are cold but hopefully this will be the last of the snow and cold. emoticon emoticon emoticon

The doctor has cut my hormone replacement pill in half. After a few months she wants me to stop them all together. She says since I'm 60 now that it's time for me to go through menopause. I am having even more trouble sleeping and my weight loss is pretty much at a stand still. EVERYTHING irritates me. But no hot flashes. Weather or hormones?

No snow here, but it isn't very warm.

My daughter and her family came over today, and go my raised beds spaded over and the manure and ashes mixed into them. As soon as it's warm enough, I can start planting.

We had snow last night, a couple of inches that has stayed so far today, and it is again cloudy and gloomy just like yesterday and tomorrow so the forecast says. I need to plant some stuff but this is not the weather for that. I am going to start some rye bread and then get dressed warm and go out for a while, I need to walk the fields to pick up any deer antlers so the tractor doesn't find then first.

Rita - Enjoy the sun, it was out only briefly here. The weather forecast is not sounding that it is going to get any better tomorrow.

I'm going to get out and run my errands while the sun is out and pretend it warmer than it is. I've got fleece lined pants on and a t-shirt under my blouse. That ought to do it. emoticon
It's much better than the gloomy days at least. We've just got to hang in there and summer is bound to happen right?

Barb - I am glad you are taking a strong hand with your heifer. I think almost all animals can be trained if you start when they are young. Good luck.

Rita - I agree. I feel it should be warmer than it is.

Need to vacuum so, guess I better get busy and do it if I want to watch the game later.

Have a great day and stay warm.

I hope everyone is warm and dry in this rainy, messy, cold weather. For some reason it just seems like it should be warmer by now. The calendar tells me no, but my body says it's time to be warm.

Have a great Thursday. Do something fun. Even if it's only for a few minutes. Have fun.

It was cold here just like everyone else today, there are a few snowflakes here and there now, I am going out early to do chores tonight, hoping Spice and Bud will cooperate and come down to the barn without a guide tonight. The water has slowed down a lot, only one river to cross now instead of two, and it is more like a swift stream now. My Dad suggested I contact the Soil Conservationists, instead of trying to deal with the state, they have clout when something the state is doing causes the severe erosion the water is causing on my property.

I walked the fences today, mostly to kick the side and back pastures off the electricity for now, the amount of down wires brings the charge down, and also pick up any problems in the two pastures the cows are in right now. Every year there are deer antlers laying around, both in the pastures and in the hayfields, and now is the time to pick them up. An antler laying with the prongs up will ruin a tractor tire. Today there was a huge one by the apple tree in the newest pasture, only 4 points, but about 2" in diameter at the base. Last year I found a pair of two 5 point antlers in the central pasture that are about half the size in diameter and length, and a 10 point buck is pretty big usually, wonder how large the deer is with this antler!

I went over to my Veterinary friends today and dug 3 rows of those purple/almost black carrots, ended up with 7 5 gallon pails of them for the critters, they don't care about the color! Then dug 4 5 gallon pails of parsnips, only one for me! He is having some lung problems and is not able to get some of that stuff done. I also got two holes dug for the peach trees we are getting next week from Fedco. I will have to dig my holes sometime in the next week, I ordered a few nut trees. He got some chestnuts a few years ago and planted them in the garden, most of them got messed up by the snow, but there was one nice tree, about as tall as I am, that was a sucker to dig up! I am going to plant it down below the lower orchard where I plant the rest of the nuts. The final thing was a 4 black currant bushes, offspring of the big ones he has. I was too cold to try to get some offspring of the elderberries, maybe next week. Now I need to plant all these things!

My leg is really black and blue, about. 4" across right under my knee on the inside, good thing she didn't hit the knee! She did get some training on not kicking, and after several times of trying, she stopped, she doesn't like getting yelled at, but needs to start behaving herself. I stood back away from her and just lightly touched her with a stick, she kicked, and not just in irritation, but a kick to kill. I was avoiding training because she is flighty, but I think she finally discovered what she is not supposed to do, this morning she was quiet, and very good when I unsnapped her to go out. We will see.

I did finally get some wood cut even though it is very cold here, and the wind was blowing quite hard. I filled up the wood cart in the kitchen, with wood that is big enough to last more than a few minutes. Most of the branches I am cutting are a few inches across so that they are not hard to cut with my electric chain saw. I don't try to do anything too big.

I have the wood stove burning nicely now, and that heat really does feel good.

Take care everyone and stay warm.
