Yes, MMC, is huge. All these mazes and signs. Like anywhere you go, once you have been there, it easy to find. Even the ER can be a challenge to find your way around looking for your love ones.

Went to Portland today to see my SIL. He is doing quite well he looked good. Guess all they can do is try to keep him quiet. He has had every test you can think of.
BOY is Me Medical Center BIG. Holly molly if my Daughter didn't come meet us we would have never found him. Guess you can't take us out of the country. The traffic was horrendous. My DH says to go one way and the signs says the other. Wonder we ever got home.

My eating has gone wild. We stopped at Country Buffet how can you eat just a little there??? Hugs Barbara

Inside recess was just awful. Kids were load and disrespectful. They, all 200 3rd graders, had lunch without anyone being able to talk. Q-U-I-E-T. Awesome. Could only ask a grown a quetion. They also had to walk quietly back to their clasrooms. Yes, they did it. If they have inside recess tomorrow, they will have to sit with their heads down.

I am not feeling well and didn't want to have to shout above them.

Other than cloudy weather, it's been nice up here. Our temps dropped a little, but we didn't get the rains. My DD in NH did get all the rains, winds and flooding.

I'm so sorry for the lady who had the bad weekend. Sorry, I forgot to note your name. Bad things often happen in 3s, don't they? I hope your DSIL comes home soon.

My son is planning to move this week. He's been temporarily living with us for the past couple of months and now he's planning to leave on Wednesday. I can't say I'm happy about that. He's going to Florida to stay with a friend for a few months. I don't think I'm going to handle this well. I don't know if he'll handle it well, but he thinks he's going to. He's 25, so he's old enough, but I sure feel like he's still such a kid.

I know that I don't post on this team much, but I thought that it was pretty cool to see that at this moment this team has 21,000 members. In Maine, no less! I wonder how many of those members are active? I sure wish I could find someone close to me in Rumford! Or Damariscotta... I still have ties there as well since I lived there a long time, and still work there part-time.

Quite a few years ago I belonged to Tops in Brunswick. I was the biggest looser. I went down to 108 lbs. Sure wish I could to that again.

What a bad weekend. My Son-in-law had an aneurysm in his head we took him to CMMC and they took him to Maine Medical in Portland. He seems to be doing good but they are going to keep him for a couple of weeks. My daughter stayed all weekend with him. I went and got her dogs. Guess they will be here for a while.

Then we found out my Grandkids other Grandfather was sent home to die. He has cancer.

Then my daughters friends husband was killed in an auto accident only 27 years old. In a minute everything can change. Never to be the same again.

I am tired, I have been cooking for the kids they all come to Grandma's when they get hungry. Seems someone should teach these teens how to cook. I really don't mind they are a lot of energy and fun.

Renee, be careful with the Atkins diet. It is very high protein and very low carb. The problem is two-fold. One is that you are not developing good eating habits which are essential for long-term maintenance. Second, is that it can be very hard on your kidneys.

Renee, every woman I know around here that attends zumba classes loves it. Our local Y has one every wee and it's always a full house.

Deb, I used to belong to a TOPS chapter about 5 years ago. Men who attend usually stand out as there's usually only 1 or 2 of us. I've been invited to join a local chapter that is just 3 miles down the road. Still mulling it over.

Cold and rainy here. brrr.

TOPS is Take Off Pounds Sensibly. It's a support group for weight loss group. Sorta like WW. but we only pay a dollar a meeting. We discuss nutrition and programs on helping us to be motivated. We weigh in and then socialize before meeting. The meeting last about an hour or so. Yesterday I was at a weekend workshop. Look up TOPS on google and it will give you more info. Should be one near where you live. Keeps me accountable and gives me the suipport I need.

I usually try to exercise around 10AM, but because of daylight saving time, it's already after 11 and I'm still just hanging around and off my schedule. I hate to miss a day because with me it's usually miss a day, miss 2 or maybe 3. Hope I can get something in before this day flies by.

Amy: the videos on youtube make it look way harder than it is! I know that the Kellogs videos do break it down and they're more helpful. Maybe i just have an awesome instructor but i didn't think it was that hard. I did dance for 12 years though so maybe that helps.

Does anyone know anything about the Atkins diet? I'm thinking of doing it. I need something that's different. I keep letting myself slip and eat things i'm not supposed to and i'm just looking for something new to do...i feel like if it wasn't for being so sick for like a month and a half, i wouldn't have lost all the weight i have so far...and that's depressing.

so i was just wondering if anyone had tried it, if they liked it, what they thought of it...etc.

Hope everyone has a good sunday! I'm going to enjoy my last day of spring break and go running outside again...it's colder today but still tolerable!

So far this morning I took my physical challenge on my Wii with my Fitness Coach. I haven't done my workout yet, as DH came into the room and instead of just getting ready to start his day, he sat around and started to watch a movie that was on. I had switched it over from the Wii to tv when he came in. Probably my fault for luring him into the movie. Didn't mean to.

Still have plenty of day left to do the workout. 'Course, as soon as I sit down here, he heads outside. I think I'll vacuum now, then start my last load of laundry and then do my workout. I'll then be able to feel I can take the time to poly unfinished kitchen island I bought a few weeks ago. I took it apart yesterday so it would be easier and with water-based poly, no stink and it will dry.

I should be able to accomplish a lot inside and it if doesn't rain, I'll go out and brush the dog. He could use it. I can stay physically busy all day.

Hey Deb, what is TOPS? Is it like weight watchers? Does it cost money?

Been away on a retreat for TOPS. Keeps me motivated. A special lunch was supplied by the group. Salads, chili and various healthy deserts and fruits.

I was inside some sitting so can't tell what kind of a day it was. Had to make up for it when I got home.

hi . i need to get back on track..i have been putting long hours in as we had swim teams. thur. worked from 730 am till 1015 pm so was tired and my feet hurt

Hi, everyone. I've been out of the mix for a couple of weeks. I'm experiencing a lot of pain in my leg and it has be bummed out and eating at the same time I'm trying to exercise. All in all, I'm way out of balance and losing ground on the scale. I have registered to take a belly dance class in Bangor starting Monday. I'm hoping that will inspire me to do better.

Took the dog for a walk today. Walked 2 miles, to the Stetson Road and home again. Both Angel and I are feeling pretty beat tonight. I've taken a couple rounds of Tylenol to try to combat the ankle pain. Oddly, just as we were getting home, the dog and I were passed by a gray car and getting just a glimpse of the driver, I thought it was Rel! Rel, were you in Kenduskeag today?

Logged my food today for the first time in several weeks. I really have to make an effort to get back on the wagon. David's cholesterol is high so we've been eating better here at home. The problem is when I'm away from home at work. I binge, big time. I'm just all out of whack.

People, you'll have to watch out for rain now. Silly me, I took advantage of the good weather, like so many others today and I washed my car. I just couldn't resist getting all that mud and dust off. You know it's going to rain now!

I did a full 30 min. cardio workout this morning. I usually do different types of workouts and it's only the warm-ups that are cardio. Thought I'd give this one a try and it kicked my butt. I'll only do this one every so often. I like the other workouts better because I know I'm toning muscles more with them.

Either way is good, though. As long as I'm working out. Good to see so many are doing the same.

Great work, Steven! I know we would all like to see a loss like that every week but in reality it is not sustainable if you want to develop a healthy lifestyle. Enjoy it!

Dori, good luck with DH. Take care of you, too. The Hawaii trip... in the challenge section, we are walking to Hawaii in an airplane. lol. We spent a few days in San Jose with SparkGuy, and we left for Hawaii 2 days ago. This leg is 2750 miles. It will take a couple of months to get there.

I got the biggest compliment! You know how someone will ask you if you are losing weight? Instead of being asked, I was told I was losing weight. lol. It doesn't help that I am in serious need of clothes that fit. But being between sizes makes that a bit difficult. I can't wait to get out of this stage. It will make shopping a bit easier. : )

My sis goes to Zumba classes. she loves it. She is alot older than me and she has a blast. I told her if I lived closer, I would go with her. but I don't. lol.

Good luck to your DH. That type of surgery seems to be happening a lot. My FIL had his right knee done and my mother had both knees replaced last fall. Both of them (people, not knees) are doing fine and getting around very well. Lots of patience and PT are needed.

I'm going to be gone off and on. DH is having knee replacement surgery on Monday.

The weather has been incredible. I can't believe it's going to continue to be so warm and dry. Maybe I'll be able to get some walks in soon. Still too much snow on the sides of our road to try to walk there.

Okay people. For serious. My new found love...aside from my crock pot...is Zumba. It's so much fun and you work up such a sweat! I'm taking it at the YMCA in Old Town at 5:30am-6:30am tuesdays and thursdays and i have never felt better. it's not only fun and a great work out but its something you can do that makes you feel good! You get to shake your booty like you're at the club! haha. you should really really try it! just once. the moves are a little difficult to get the first time but it's so much fun. i recommend it for everyone. all ages, all fitness levels, you can make it as hard as you want or tone it down and make it fit your level. in the mornings i'm the youngest one there! There's only a couple people probably in their late 20's and then most everyone else is probably in their 40's, 50's, and 60's. I have so much fun and it's totally better than getting up at 4:45am to just go to the gym.

but it was really nice to only have to work and not worry about school. now i need to get my butt in gear because i have two 30pg research papers due at the end of April...ahhh.

What a beautiful day on the outside! Oh I do hope spring comes early.

It's been a good week for me. I'm beginning to get some energy and stamina back. Went to the doctors this morning just to get my blood level checked for cumadin levels. But more importantly to use their scale. Down 9 pounds this week! Oh I feel like I'm on "Biggest Loser"! I know it won't happen every time, but it's nice when it does. Hence, the new avatar to the left. I think it looks nice for the moment. :)

I have to laugh sometimes when I enter my food here on Sparkpeople. Sometimes if you're using the search function for something, when the search gets done, it tries to be helpful and ask "Did you mean ....?" Last night, I entered "Hannaford nonfat pina colada yogurt".
It came back "Did you mean Hannaford nonfatal poison called yogurt?" I definitely LOL'ed!

First to Rel - belated birthday wishes!!! Sorry I missed it earlier.

Safe flight yesterday, but no appreciable exercise - only the walk to the rental car place in a far lot... and no computer access until today. Finally got connected to the cousin's local, but secure network.

Traveling is always hard on the nutrition factor... and I haven't the heart to go back and try to figure out yesterday. I have, however, logged breakfast and fitness - good food start and 40 fitness minutes (I brought my Sansone dvd). We'll see how long this week that holds up. LOL.

MissJean (Laurie?) - I know what you mean about not having the heart to go back and reset things. I avoided that for several ups and downs, the on Jan. 1 I just 'sucked it up' and reset to a new beginning point. Progress so far is slow but steady, with an occasional backslide, but now to just keep with it...

Warm here in New Smyrna Beach, but raining off and on and sky very dark... I just wanted a few lazy days, so I'm not too concerned about the weather.

I hope that everyone is having a good day. It is nice outside, only 49 degrees. That is great. I have physical therapy today. It will feel good in the pool. I didn't go on Tuesday because my legs were so swollen they hurt really bad. I tried to put them up and put on my stretch stockings, but they made it worst. They are still swollen today but not that bad yet.

Good morning everyone. Another sunny morning. Today is 'sports day' at school. I'm wearing my Patriot's t-shirt.

I got in a workout yesterday on my Wii. I've been using a different program for weeks, which has been giving me a harder workout, but yesterday I went back to an easier program. I still put in 30 min, but wanted something less strenuous. Still, the last time I used this, my legs ached after 20 min. I was able to 30 min. with less trouble. I think the harder workouts I've been doing have done the trick. I'm in better shape. I love that.

My ticker at the bottom hasn't been accurate because I didn't have the heart to put it back up to a new starting point. I wanted to leave it where I left off and then work my way back to that point. Well, I've just about done it. Just another pound or two and I'll be there and I start counting them off again. I'm so happy.
