JOANNE, I HAVE NEVER SEEN A DEW WORM BUT IT SOUNDS GROSS. SOUNDS LIKE YOU ENJOYED THE FRUITS OF YOUR LABOR FOR DINNER.
NANCY, IT'S ON HIS BACK, RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE. SINCE THEY CLEANED IT OUT, YOU HAVE TO REALLY KNOW WHERE IT IS TO FIND IT, BUT IF IT ISN'T REMOVED IT WILL FILL UP AGAIN. BUT THEY WOULDN'T DO THE SURGERY BECAUSE OF HIS INFECTION---DUH, WE DID CALL AND ASK AND THE OTHER DOCTORS SAID IT WAS OKAY.
DID THEY SHOW UP AND WHAT DID THEY SAY ABOUT THE DECK?
I WENT OUT AND WATERED EVERYTHING LAST NIGHT---AND GOT MY ANKLES ATE UP BY BUGS---I DO NEED TO REMEMBER TO SPRAY MYSELF BUT KEEP FORGETTING---I HATE USING BUG SPRAY! BOY, DO I NEED TO GET OUT THERE AND WEED MY FLOWER BEDS BUT IT'S JUST TOO HOT AND HUMID OUT THERE.

PANTS AND T SHIRT WEATHER SO FAR TODAY BUT THE TEMPS ARE GOING UP AGAIN AND LOOKS LIKE THE WEEKEND WILL BE THE WORST, TEMPS OVER 40c OR 100f WITH THE HUMIDITY.. GUESS I WILL BE GLAD TO HAVE THE A/C. HOWEVER I SAY LIKE JOANNE, I TAKE A SWEATER WITH ME WHEN I GO INTO STORES

LANDLORDS WILL BE HERE AT ABOUT 1 THIS AFTERNOON, SHE HAS WALKED ON THE BALCONY BEFORE AND SAW THAT IT WAS VERY SOFT, BUT DID SHE DO ANYTHING? NOT UNTIL I SAID THAT I WOULD HOLD BACK THE RENT.,SO IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE DONE IN SEPTEMBER BUT TODAY I AM DEFINATELY GETTING INTO THE SUBJECT AGAIN AND WHEN SHE SAYS SEPTEMBER I AM GOING TO ASK WHAT YEAR.. I CAN BE A BITCH AND I TOLD HER THAT ONCE, SHE DIDN'T BELIEVE ME AND SAID I WAS SO GENTLE AND KIND

LECATES GLAD THINGS ARE IMPROVING WITH YOUR HUBBY, WHERE DOES HE HAVE A CYST

OH YES! GARDEN SURPRISES ARE THE BEST! UNLESS THOSE SURPRISES ARE MOLES OR SLUGS OR SUCH! YESTERDAY I WAS SURPRISED BY AN 8 INCH DEW WORM (HUGE AND FAT AND UGLY) WHO SEEMED TO HAVE DIED HALF IN AND HALF OUT OF THE SOIL. THE ANTS WERE WORKING FURIOUSLY TO FIND A WAY TO TURN HIM INTO ANT FOOD, IT WAS ALL RATHER DISGUSTING. NEEDLESS TO SAY I PUT ON THE BIG GLOVES AND DISPOSED OF HIM IN A HURRY. WHAT IS IT ABOUT WORMS THAT MAKES THEM SO UNAPPEALING???

I FEEL LIKE THE PEOPLE WHO WORK IN AIR CONDITIONED BUILDINGS ARE CHEATED OF SUMMER. IT IS JUST AS COLD AS WINTER IN THERE! I TRY TO REMEMBER TO TAKE A HOODIE TO THE GROCERY STORE WITH ME AS GOING IN THERE IN SHORTS IS A LESSON IN THE THERMODYNAMICS OF SHIVERING.

LECATES, I AM GLAD TO HEAR YOUR HUSBANDS FOOT IS HEALING.
NANCY, MAYBE THE DECK WILL FAIL WITH YOUR LANDLORDS ON IT. I AM NOT WISHING THEM AND INJURY, BUT IT WOULD BE A RATHER JUST CIRCUMSTANCE.

WE HAD SWISS CHARD, GOLDEN BEETS, AND DILL CREAMED CARROTS WITH SUPPER LAST NIGHT - ALL FROM THE GARDEN AND WORTH THE EFFORT! THE BEST THING IS WE HAVE HAD TWO SUNNY WARM DAYS IN A ROW! BUT WE ARE STILL HAVING RAINFALL AT SOME POINT EVERY SINGLE DAY, AS HAS BEEN THE CASE ALL SUMMER...

ALWAYS NICE TO FIND A SURPRISE VEGGIE OR FLOWER. I HAVE A SUNFLOWER IN BLOOM---ANOTHER SURPRISE ---THEY ARE MINI ONES AND JUST COMING ON---BUT I PLANTED THEM LATE FROM SEED---NOT A BIG FAN OF THEM BUT BOUGHT SOME SEEDS FOR THE KIDS SO I USED THE LEFTOVER ONES HERE.
NANCY, GOOD IDEA TO REMIND THEM AND MAKE THEY GO OUT ON IT AND SEE HOW BAD THAT BALCONY IS. MAYBE THEY WILL GET IT DONE SOONER.
MARCHEM---I WOULD JUST TAKE A BLANKET IN AND LEAVE IT SO IT IS HANDY. HMMM, DON'T YOU KNOW HOW TO HIDE THAT HEATER SO THEY DON'T SEE IT AND PUT IT AWAY WHEN YOU GO HOME? LOL THEY TELL US THE SAME THING AT SCHOOLS BUT I KNOW QUITE A FEW OFFICE PEOPLE WHO HAVE ONE UNDER THEIR DESKS AND I KNOW THE HOME EC TEACHER I WAS GOOD FRIENDS WITH KEPT ONE UNDER HER DESK AS THAT ROOM WAS HUGE AND OFTEN VERY COLD.
DH'S ANKLE LOOKING BETTER---HE FOUND IT EASIER TO WALK ON BUT IT DID HURT MORE LAST NIGHT BECAUSE OF THE WALKING HE DID. CYST REMOVAL TODAY FOR HIM.
I DID PULL SOME WEEDS FROM THE FRONT BEDS YESTERDAY WHEN I TOOK THE TRASH CAN UP TO BE DUMPED. COULDN'T DO ALL OF THE WEEDING AS I WAS DRESSED FOR HIS APPOINTMENT AND DIDN'T WANT TO GET DIRTY---BUT AT LEAST THE WORST OF THEM WERE TAKEN CARE OF. OUR HEDGES HAVE JUST GONE CRAZY AND IF DH DOESN'T IMPROVE SOON, I WILL HAVE TO ASK OUR YOUNGEST SON TO COME BY AND TRIM THEM FOR US. BOY, DO I HATE WHEN MY FRONT YARD DOES NOT LOOK GOOD.

STARR--GOOD LUCK WITH THE PIANO LESSONS AND GLAD YOU'RE GETTING SOME GOOD GARDEN VEGGIES!

LECATES--GLAD DH IS GETTING BETTER AND GETTING TO SEE THE DOCTORS HE NEEDS TO SEE.

NANCY--I HOPE THE CHERRY TOMATOES TURN SOON. I LOVE YELLOW CHERRY TOMATOES. HOPE YOU FIND OUT SOON ABOUT THE BALCONY.

DD GOT OFF TO SCHOOL WELL TODAY. WARM TODAY OUTSIDE, BUT ALSO TOLERABLE IN MY OFFICE. THE TEMPS ARE ACTUALLY GETTING INTO THE UPPER 60'S. I ACTUALLY TOOK OFF MY JACKET FOR A WHILE TODAY. LECATES, WE AREN'T ALLOWED SPACE HEATERS, BUT I DO BRING A SWEATER OR JACKET EVERY DAY. I ALSO ALMOST BROUGHT IN A BLANKET, BUT DIDN'T. GLAD I DRESSED IN LAYERS, SO I COULD TAKE OFF MY JACKET AS IT WARMED UP.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE.

WHILE WATERING THIS MORNING, I FOUND A CUCUMBER-IT WAS HIDING REALLY WELL. I THOUGH THAT I WAS NOT GOING TO GET ANYMORE AFTER THE ONE THAT I PICKED LAST WEEK, BUT THEM I WAS SURPRISED THIS MORNING. THE TOMATO PLANT THAT HAS JUST THE PAST TWO WEEKS BEEN PRODUCING, HAS MORE THEN HALF A DOZEN (WHAT WILL BE) LARGE TOMATOES ON IT.

LECATES, YEP...I AM PRACTICING. I PRACTICED FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES YESTERDAY AND ALREADY TODAY I'VE PRACTICED ABOUT 15 MINUTES.

GOING TO DEADHEAD ROSES THIS EVENING. ONCE THEY BLOOM, THE ROSES SURE DON'T LAST VERY LONG.

STARR, THE KEY IS PRACTICE---LOTS OF PRACTICE---AND BE PATIENT. ENJOY THE FRUITS OF YOUR LABOR.
NANCY PLEASE SEND IT MY WAY! GOING TO BE IN THE 90'S FOR ABOUT THE NEXT 5 DAYS AT LEAST.
MARCHEM, HOPE THIS YEAR GOES WELL. GLAD SOMEONE TOOK THE SQUASH. I THINK I NEED TO PICK ONE SQUASH TODAY AND HAVE A FEW OTHERS JUST STARTING. DEFINITELY GOT SOME NICE SQUASH THIS YEAR. i THINK i WOULD HAVE TO WEAR MY WINTER CLOTHES TO WORK THERE PLUS HAVE A HEATER IN MY SPACE. CAN YOU DO THAT?
DH SEES THE WOUND CENTER DOCTOR TODAY---BUT REGULAR DOCTOR SAID IT LOOKED BETTER YESTERDAY. HE DID ORDER PT FOR HIM BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF ACTIVITY. DH SAYS IT DOESN'T HURT AS MUCH TO PUT WEIGHT ON IT.
WE DID HAVE SOME RAIN AGAIN YESTERDAY SO NO NEED TO WATER. BUT I SURE NEED TO GO OUT THERE AND WEED MY FRONT FLOWER BEDS.

GOOD AFTERNOON EVERYONE. emoticon

WELL, I WENT FOR MY 1ST PIANO LESSON THIS MORNING. THIS WILL MAKE THE 3RD TIME THAT I'VE TRIED TO LEARN OVER THE PAST 15 YEARS. WISH ME LUCK. I'D LOVE TO LEARN. THE TEACHER IS JUST A LADY THAT GIVES PEOPLE PIANO LESSONS OUT OF HER HOME. SHE HAS BEEN TEACHING SINCE 1964. SINCE IT IS ONE-ON-ONE AND OUT OF A CLASSROOM ATMOSPHERE, I AM HOPING THAT I WILL HAVE SOME SUCCESS. emoticon

WENT AND HAD LUNCH WITH MY ELDEST DD AND 11 YEAR OLD GRAND DD. (SHE IS MY YOUNGEST GRANDCHILD, AND THE ONLY GIRL. USUALLY MY DD & I GO OUT TO LUNCH TOGETHER EVERY OTHER WEEK OR SO. BUT IT HAS BEEN WELL OVER 2 MONTHS SINCE WE'VE BEEN ABLE TO GET TOGETHER. EITHER SHE HAS BEEN SUPER BUSY OR I HAVE BEEN.

MARCHEM, THANK YOU FOR OFFERING TO SEND ME SOME RAIN & EVEN COOLER WEATHER. I'D SURE ENJOY HAVING SOME OF BOTH.

LECATES, I WOULD ALSO RATHER HAVE JOANNE'S WEATHER THEN MINE!!

I PICKED A COUPLE TOMATOES AND 3 BELL PEPPER LAST NIGHT. AND I FOUND SOME LITTLE BITTY BABY CANTALOUP. HOORAY. emoticon emoticon

NANCY--I LOVE THE PICTURE! GLAD HE OBVIOUSLY ENJOYED HIS CAKE.

LECATES--I'M A DEAN AT A REGIONAL UNIVERSITY. I'M ON A 12 MONTH CONTRACT, BUT ALMOST ALL OF MY FACULTY ARE ON 10 MONTH CONTRACTS. WE START CLASSES NEXT WEEK, SO STUDENTS AND FACULTY ARE STARTING TO COME BACK. THE YELLOW SQUASH WAS GONE THIS MORNING. IT LIKELY GOT TAKEN HOME BY A STAFF PERSON ON MY FLOOR, STUDENTS COMING IN FOR REGISTRATION AND COUNSELING, AND/OR TAKEN OVER TO OUR FOOD PANTRY TO BE GIVEN TO HUNGRY STUDENTS. MY DAUGHTER STARTS 10TH GRADE TOMORROW AND MY SON STARTS HIS SOPHOMORE YEAR AT MY COLLEGE ON MONDAY.

IT'S CURRENTLY 60 DEGREES IN MY OFFICE. I HAVE A SWEATER ON AND WISH I'D BROUGHT A BLANKET AND GLOVES IN TODAY. I ALWAYS DRESS IN LAYERS BECAUSE I NEVER KNOW HOW COLD IT'S GOING TO BE.

I HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GREAT DAY!

NANCY, LOVE THAT PICTURE! THAT IS WHAT THEY SHOULD LOOK LIKE ON THEIR BIRTHDAY. HE SAYS HE DID NOTHING TO THAT AREA--BUT IT IS PART OF HIS CELLULITIS SO THAT WILL BE MY QUESTION TODAY ABOUT SEEING IF HE NEEDS VEIN SURGERY AND WHERE DO WE GO FOR THAT. OF COURSE, HE SHOULD BE WEARING THE COMPRESSION SOCKS BUT NO WAY HE CAN GET IT ON THE LEFT SIDE BUT HE SHOULD BE ABLE TO ON THE ONE THAT IS INFECTED AT THE MOMENT.
JOANNE, HOPE YOU HAVE SUNSHINE AND A BIT WARMER WEATHER. LIKE MARCHEM, I WOULD SEND YOU MY HEAT AND HUMIDITY YOUR WAY IF I COULD.. I WOULD DEFINITELY LOVE TO HAVE YOUR TEMPS FROM THE OTHER DAY. BUT I WILL TELL YOU THAT I AM TIRED OF BEING COLD IN THE AC.
MARCHEM---NICE OF YOU TO SHARE THE EXTRA PRODUCE. I WISH WE COULD ALL GO TO YEAR ROUND SCHOOLS-----I WOULD PREFER MULTIPLE BREAKS OVER A SUPER LONG SUMMER BREAK.
HOPING WE HAVE SOME MORE RAIN TODAY---GOT SOME YESTERDAY BUT NOT THAT MUCH. BUT AT LEAST I DON'T HAVE TO WATER.

LECATES--GLAD YOU'RE GETTING A VISITING NURSE TO HELP WITH WOUND CARE AND GLAD YOU ARE TAKING TIME FOR YOURSELF. AS FOR SCHOOL START TIMES, WE USUALLY START MID AUGUST AROUND HERE, BUT OUR GOVERNOR SIGNED A BILL RECENTLY THAT GOES INTO EFFECT NEXT SCHOOL YEAR. SCHOOLS WON'T BE ABLE TO BEGIN BEFORE 2 WEEKS BEFORE LABOR DAY. THE PRESS MADE A BIG DEAL ABOUT A LONGER SUMMER. IT'S NOT LONGER, THEY'LL GET OUT LATER IN MAY. I GREW UP WITH STARTING AFTER LABOR DAY, BUT I LIKE THE MID AUGUST START HERE AND THE EARLY TO MID MAY END TIME.

NANCY--GLAD THE CUSHION TURNED OUT WELL!

STARR--OUR WEATHER IS A LITTLE COOLER BUT NOT BY MUCH. OUR ACTUAL TEMPS ARE IN THE LOW 90'S AND IT FEELS LIKE MID 100'S. IT WOULD HELP IF MY OFFICE TEMP WASN'T IN THE MID 60'S. WE'VE HAD A BUNCH OF RAIN. I'D SEND SOME YOUR WAY IF I COULD.

JOANNE--I'D LOVE TO SEND YOU SOME OF THIS HEAT. MY TOMATOES ARE DOING REALLY WELL IN IT BUT I WOULDN'T MIND TURNING IT DOWN A FEW NOTCHES.

EVELYNN--HOPE YOUR GRANDSON HAS A GOOD BIRTHDAY!

MY ZUCCHINI PLANTS ARE ABOUT TO DIE. DH NOTICED ROT ON THE ROOTS. I THINK I MIGHT HAVE PICKED MY LAST ZUCCHINI FOR THE YEAR. I HAVE A PLETHORA OF YELLOW SQUASH, SO I PUT IT OUT AT WORK. HOPEFULLY, SOMEONE WILL GET TO ENJOY IT.

HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GOOD DAY!

I AM LIKE THAT TOO NANCY - I FIND A BIG BRUISE AND WONDER WHERE DID THAT COME FROM... (I AM NOT DIABETIC, JUST CLUMSY!)

LECATES, I AM ALWAYS AMAZED AT THE VARIETY OF COLOURS AND BLOSSOMS OF DAYLILIES. YOUR PHOTOS ARE BEAUTIFUL! MY FAVOURITE STATUE FROM THE LAST BLOG IS THE LITTLE BOY READING TO THE LITTLE GIRL, WHERE SHE IS STRETCHED OUT ON HER TUMMY. THAT IS SO SWEET! IT LOOKS LIKE A BEAUTIFUL GARDEN SPOT TO VISIT.

THERE IS A LITTLE BIT OF BLUE IN THE SKY THIS MORNING, SO FINGERS CROSSED THAT WE MIGHT GET A DAY OR TWO OF NICE WEATHER!

I'D RATHER HAVE JOANNE'S WEATHER THAN STARR'S---LOL
I AM FINALLY GETTING SOME TOMATOES BUT THEY ARE VERY SMALL---BUT DO TASTE GOOD---WE HAD SOME WITH OUR LUNCH YESTERDAY. I FOUND A PUMPKIN YESTERDAY---IT'S A SMALL ONE---THAT IS WHAT I PLANTED---IT IS SOOOOO CUTE---LIGHT ORANGE RIGHT NOW BUT FIGURE IT WILL TURN DARKER AS IT RIPENS.
I FINALLY GOT MY PICTURES UPLOADED AND I DID 3 BLOGS---2 OF DAYLILY FARM THAT WE WENT TO AND ONE OF WALDEMEER'S LOVELY STATUES AND FLOWERS---IT'S AN AMUSEMENT PARK IN ERIE---I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE ALL THOSE LOVELY STATUES.
NANCY, FEEL FREE TO USE ANY FROM THE BLOGS FOR THE TEAM.
CALLED THE HOSPITAL AND THEY HAVE NOW ARRANGED FOR A VISITING NURSE TO COME TEND DH'S OPEN WOUND---SO GLAD THAT IS HAPPENING---HE DIDNT WANT ME TO TOUCH IT YESTERDAY. I DID TAKE TIME FOR ME AND WENT TO THE POOL PLUS ALSO DID SOME HOUSE WALKING.

EVELYN, WHAT DAY IN AUGUST IS YOUR GRANDSON'S BIRTHDAY? MY YOUNGEST DAUGHTER'S 30TH BIRTHDAY IS A WEEK FROM TODAY. WE ARE HAVING HER BIRTHDAY PARTY AT THE BOWLING ALLEY. THAT IS WHERE SHE WANTED TO HAVE IT. emoticon emoticon

OUR TEMPERATURES HAVE BEEN 100+ DEGREES FOR THE PAST 3 DAYS, AND WILL CONTINUE TILL AT LEAST THURSDAY. YESTERDAY THE HUMIDITY (WHAT IT FEELS LIKE) WAS 120 DEGREES. TODAY IT WAS 116 DEGREES!!! emoticon WHEN I WENT OUT AT 6:45 TO WATER MY GARDEN THIS MORNING, IT WAS ALREADY 91 DEGREES. I GOT A RIPE CUCUMBER & 2 TOMATOES THIS MORNING. I GOT ONLY 5 CUCUMBERS, AND A COUPLE HANDFULS OF TOMATOES. THE CUCUMBER PLANT HAS ALL BUT DIED AND TWO OF MY TOMATO PLANTS HAVE DONE THE SAME. I DISCOVERED THE OTHER DAY THAT I HAVE A PEPPER ON ONE PLANT AND 3 ON ONE OF MY OTHER PEPPER PLANTS. JUST A COUPLE MORE WEEKS BEFORE I CAN HARVEST MY SWEET POTATOES. I AM REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT~HOPE THAT I'LL GET AT LEAST HALF A DOZEN OUT OF EACH PLANT.

I HOPE EVERYONE IS STAYING AS COOL AS POSSIBLE. HAVE A GREAT TUESDAY.

HUGS,
STARR

ANOTHER GREY AND RAINY DAY HERE ON THE CANADIAN PRAIRIES. THE TEMP IS +13C, WHICH IS 55F. BRRRRR. DARN CHILLY FOR AUGUST. I WAS OUT AT GARDEN #3 YESTERDAY, WHERE I HAVE THE ROOT VEGETABLES. THE BEETS, CARROTS AND POTATOES ARE DOING WELL, AND I BROUGHT HOME A BUSHEL OF THEM FOR MEALS THIS WEEK. IT GAS BEEN TOO COOL FOR EVERYTHING ELSE - TOMATOES, ZUCCHINI, SQUASH, BEANS - ALL HAVE BEEN PRETTY PATHETIC BETWEEN THE HAIL AND THECHILLY NIGHTS AND. OVERCAST DAYS.

DD#1 WAS SICK YESTERDAY, AND SIL WAS BUILDING THEIR NEW FENCE, SO WE HAD THE GRANDKIDS ALL DAY. THEY WERE GOOD AS GOLD AND SO MUCH FUN. MY GRANDDAUGHTER IS ALL ABOUT DRAGONS RIGHT NOW, AND I LEARNED A LOT ABOUT THOSE CREATURES. SHE HAD ME ATTENDING "DRAGON SCHOOL".

DD#2 AND HER PARTNER ARRIVED FOR A VISIT - THEY ARE STAYING A FEW DAYS - SO WE HAD A LOVELY FAMILY DINNER, MINUS DD#1. HOPE SHE FEELS BETTER TODAY!

IT SEEMS IMPOSSIBLE THAT SCHOOL/COLLEGE IS STARTING UP ALREADY! WHERE HAS THE SUMMER GONE? I NEVER DID. PUT AWAY SOME OF MY WINTER CLOTHES, SO AT LEAST I DONT HAVE A LOT OF SWAPPING TO DO...

COOLER TODAY SO I MAY JUST GET TO PASSING THE VACUUM, I WANT TO VACUUM THE SCREENS TOO, I TOOK THEM OFF AND WASHED THEM IN THE SPRING BUT GOODNESS THE ACCUMALATION OF DUST FROM OUTSIDE IS SOMETHING ELSE.

WELL TAKE CARE ALL CAUSE I HAD BETTER GET ON THE GO emoticon

MARCHEM, WE CAN'T START BEFORE LABOR DAY---LAW PASSED BY GOVERNOR TO DRUM UP MORE BUSINESS FOR OCEAN CITY----MAKES US ALL MAD---AS HE DOESN'T THINK THAT IT TAKES AWAY TIME AT THE BEGINNING OF SUMMER. SIMPLE ENOUGH RECIPE BUT I WOULD LIKE SOME PEPPERS---LOL
NANCY, GOOD IDEA TO USE A CURTAIN PANEL---PROBABLY BETTER MATERIAL FOR THE CUSHION ANYHOW---AND DEFINITELY CHEAPER THAN MATERIAL.
EVELYN, HOPE YOU GET SOME RAIN. GLAD THE KIDS ARE HELPING OUT. I HAD MY YOUNGEST COME OVER TO HELP WITH ME WITH SOME CAT CHORES. IT DOES MAKE LIFE SO MUCH EASIER WHEN THEY HELP OUT.
DH'S BANDAGE STUCK LAST NIGHT SO IT WAS PAINFUL TO REMOVE---LET IT AIR AND DID SOMETHING DIFFERENT TO BANDAGE IT SO HOPEFULLY IT WON'T STICK. HOPING TO GET AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE WOUND CENTER TODAY.
I FINALLY GOT SOME TOMATOES OFF BUT THEY AREN'T VERY BIG---WILL HAVE THEM TODAY WITH DINNER.

NANCY--GLAD THE PARTY WENT WELL. THANK YOU FOR YOUR KIND WORDS AND SUPPORT!

LECATES--MY SALSA RECIPE IS TOMATOES, VINEGAR, AND A SPICE MIX I GET FOR THE SALSA. IT'S STILL A LOT OF WORK, BUT I DON'T HAVE TO CHOP UP ONIONS OR PEPPERS OR MEASURE OUT ALL THE OTHER INGREDIENTS. GOOD LUCK WITH DH'S RECOVERY. I'M GLAD YOU'RE NOT BACK IN SCHOOL YET AND HAVE THE TIME TO HELP HIM HEAL.

DD STARTS SCHOOL THURSDAY. SHE HAS OPEN HOUSE TODAY AND WE'LL FIND OUT HER SCHEDULE AND MEET HER NEW TEACHERS. CLASSES START AT MY COLLEGE A WEEK FROM TOMORROW AND MEETINGS START UP IN EARNEST NEXT WEEK. I'VE GOT 3 MEETINGS TOMORROW.

VERY HOT AND HUMID HERE. HARVESTED MORE TOMATOES TODAY. MAY BE ABLE TO CAN TOMORROW OR TUESDAY. STAY COOL AND HAVE A GREAT DAY!

NANCY, GLAD IT WENT WELL.
MARCHEM, BUMMER THAT YOU ARE BACK TO A 5 DAY WEEK. I GO BACK TO WORK IN 2 AND HALF WEEKS---GUESS IT IS GOOD I AM OFF WITH DH LIKE HE IS AT THE MOMENT. TOO BAD NOT ENOUGH TO MAKE MORE SALSA THIS WEEKEND. WHAT ALL DO YOU PUT IN YOURS? I ACTUALLY HAD SOME SALSA WITH 2 MEALS THIS WEEK---THAT WAS NICE BECAUSE I RARELY GET IT BECAUSE OF DH.
GRASS WAS CUT YESTERDAY---HE ALSO DID THE WEED WHACKING--GOT TO LOVE A GOOD HANDY MAN.

MARCHEM. WHEN I HAD A MAMO LAST AUGUST, THE SAME DAY THEY PUT ME THROUGH AN ULTRASOUND AND THEN ANOTHER MAMA. DOCTOR SAID THEY SAW SOMETHING AND DIDN'T KNOW WHAT IT WAS, NOW IT WAS MY RIGHT BOOB THAT WAS SORE AND YET THEY SAW SOMETHING IN THE LEFT, RECOMMENDED A BIOPSY, DID THAT AND THERE WAS NOTHING, THE DOCTOR THAT GAVE ME THE RESULTS OF THE BIOPSY SAID THAT IT WAS SOMETHING THAT EVERY WOMAN DEVELOPS IN HER 20'S.. AND NOT TO WORRY.ALL WAS FINE, PRAYERS GOING TO YOU TOO

LECATES, GLAD YOUR HUBBY IS HOME AND HOPE IT HEALS FAST. NO I COULD NOT GO TO MY ROOM WHEN KIDS GOT ROUDY,, THERE WERE 12 OF THEM ALL UNDER THE AGE OF 7, BUT ALL IN ALL WENT WELL AS 98% OF THE TIME WE WERE OUTSIDE

STARR--GLAD YOUR SUMMER VEGGIES ARE PRODUCING! I REALLY DON'T DO ANY FALL PLANTINGS, SO I'M SORRY I CANNOT BE OF ANY HELP.

LECATES--GLAD DH IS HOME AND DOING BETTER. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF AS YOU TAKE CARE OF HIM. THANKS FOR THE PRAYERS AND ENCOURAGING WORDS.

JOANNE--THANKS FOR THE GOOD VIBES AND POSITIVE WORDS!

IT'S BACK TO SUMMER HERE. HIGHS IN THE 90'S AND FEELS LIKE LOW 100'S. I'D COMPLAIN, BUT THAT'S WHAT AUGUST IS SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE HERE. MY FIRST CANTELOUPE SPLIT WITH ALL THE RAIN. DH CUT OFF THE ROTTEN PART AND TRIED THE REST OF IT, BUT IT WASN'T QUITE RIPE. THAT WAS OUR BIGGEST AND BEST LOOKING ONE. NOT SURE HOW THE OTHERS ARE GOING TO TURN OUT (IF AT ALL). TOMATOES ARE DOING PRETTY WELL, BUT PROBABLY WON'T HAVE ENOUGH TO MAKE MORE SALSA THIS WEEKEND. WE'RE BACK TO A 5 DAY WEEK AT WORK STARTING MONDAY WITH MY WORK WEEK RAMPING UP. WISH I HAD ENOUGH TO CAN TOMORROW, BUT I'LL PROBABLY HAVE TO DO IT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WEEK AFTER WORK. OH, WELL.

STAY COOL AND HAVE A GREAT DAY!

I GENERALLY BUY THE SEEDS AT THE STORES---YOU MIGHT WANT TO START A FEW INSIDE IF YOU WANT TO PLANT IN THE FALL---BUT I DO KNOW THAT CARROTS NEED TO BE PUT IN THE GROUND---YOU CANNOT START THEM IN POTS AND THEN TRANSPLANT. NOT SURE ABOUT RADISHES. KNOW YOU CAN DO THE START INSIDE WITH THE LETTUCE.
NOT MANY PLACES SELL FALL VEGGIES FOR PLANTING.
NANCY, HOPE IT IS NOT TOO STRESSFUL AT THE PARTY. CAN YOU GO TO YOUR ROOM IF IT GETS THAT WAY? HOPE NO HEADACHE. THAT BALCONY JUST SOUNDS TOO SCARY. I THINK YOU NEED TO TRY HAVING THE PLANTS ON THE OTHER BALCONY EVEN IF THEY DON'T DO AS WELL, IT WOULD BE SAFER.
MARCHEM, IT SEEMS THAT OFTEN YOU HAVE A FALSE READING ON THOSE DARN THINGS AND THAT SCARES EVERYONE---HONESTLY, YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD HAVE PERFECTED THEM BY NOW. PRAYERS THAT IT IS ALL A FALSE REPORT--HUGS!
WE DID HAVE RAIN YESTERDAY SO I DON'T HAVE TO WATER AGAIN--YIPPEE---DON'T REALLY NEED THAT ON MY PLATE. I NEED TO GO PICK TOMATOES TODAY. OUR FRIEND IS COMING TO MOW THE LAWN TODAY. DH IS HOME AND I HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF HIS WOUND---YUCK---BUT IT DOES LOOK BETTER. GOT THE ANSWER TO WHY IT HURTS TO STAND OR WALK ON IT---NO EXCESS SKIN IN THAT AREA SO THE WOUND REALLY PULLS ON THE SKIN AND WALKING PULLS IT MORE SO IT CAUSES MORE PAIN. MAKES SENSE.
WEATHER IS SUPPOSED TO BE MUCH LESS HUMIDITY. HOPE SO!

emoticon all.

Well, it has rained like no body's business here the past 2 days. It has rained so hard & long that I have not had to water roses & vegetables since the day before yesterday. emoticon

My tomatoes are finally turning red. And all the plants that has gone all this time without even bearing anything, actually has tiny tomatoes on them. And, I discovered this morning that 3 of my pepper plants have good sized peppers on them! They have done a good job at hiding and doing a lot of growing when I didn't even know that they were there.

Do any of you all plant vegetables in the Fall? If so, what do you plant? I am instructed in planting carrots, radishes and lettuce. According to YouTube, your suppose to plant a lot of Fall produce in August. But upon calling around to places here, nobody has any Fall plants and won't have any till the middle of September! Do any of you order seeds/starting's from catalogs or on-line?

You all have a great weekend.

LECATES--GLAD THE FOOT IS BETTER. HOPE HE'LL BE ABLE TO PUT WEIGHT ON IT SOON.

NANCY--GOOD LUCK AT THE BIRTHDAY PARTY! MY KIDS ARE TEENAGERS AND I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN ABOUT HAVING TROUBLE WITH ALL THE NOISE AND ACTIVITY.

HAD A FOLLOW-UP BREAST SCREENING TODAY. MY MAMMOGRAM MONDAY CAME BACK ABNORMAL FOR BOTH BREASTS. THEY COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING ON THE ULTRASOUND AND THE DOCTOR COULDN'T FEEL ANYTHING. I HAVE AN MRI SCHEDULED IN TWO WEEKS. SO THE GOOD NEWS IS IT IS EITHER NOTHING (PRAYERS, PLEASE!) OR IF IT IS SOMETHING, IT'S REALLY SMALL AND THEREFORE VERY EASILY TREATED. I'M A LITTLE FREAKED OUT, BUT MOSTLY STAYING CALM. THIS LITTLE SCARE HAS KICKED MY BUTT INTO WATCHING WHAT I'M EATING MORE CAREFULLY. TRYING TO STAY POSITIVE AND NOT WORRY. PRAYING AND PUTTING IT IN GOD'S HANDS.

I DID WALK OVER AND HAD MY HAIR CUT YESTERDAY, TODAY ONE OF MY DAUGHTERS WILL PICK ME UP AT ABOUT 6 THIS EVENING AND I WILL SLEEP AT HER HOUSE,, BIG PARTY TOMORROW AT LUNCH TIME FOR MY ONE YEAR OLD GREAT GRANDSON ..I THINK IT IS MORE A FRIEND THING THAN A FAMILY THING. BUT I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO GO emoticon MY POOR OLD BRAIN CANNOT TAKE THE SCREAMING AND YELLING ANYMORE

WE HAD QUITE THE STORM LAST EVENING WITH HIGH WINDS, STRONG ENOUGH TO BLOW MY POTS ON THE BACK BALCONY OVER, SO THIS MORNING I HAD MUD TO CLEAN UP,, I ALSO REALIZED THAT THE OTHER END OF THE BALCONY IS EXTRA SOFT TOO, OH WELL ANOTHER MONTH, THAT IS OF COURSE IF IT IS TO BE DONE IN SEPTEMBER 2019.. WHEN THE LANDLORD TOLD ME IT WOULD BE DONE IN SEPTEMBER SHE DID NOT SAY WHAT YEAR.. BUT I'LL TELL YOU ONE THING IF IT IS NOT SHE IS SURE TO HELL GOING TO HAVE THE RENTAL BOARD ON HER BACK CAUSE I WILL COMPLAIN. AND THEY WILL SEND THE INSPECTOR AROUND, FORCING HER TO DO IT WITHIN 30 DAYS, THIS IS NOT IN MY NATURE BUT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH...

HOPE EVERYONE'S HUBBIES ARE DOING BETTER TODAY, TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES emoticon emoticon

EVELYN--I'M SO SORRY THAT YOUR HUSBAND HAS TAKEN A TURN FOR THE WORSE. PRAYERS FOR YOU AND FOR HIM. I'M GLAD HE'LL BE ABLE TO GET HOSPICE CARE.

TEENY--SO SORRY FOR HOW YOUR HUSBAND WAS TREATED.

NANCY--I'M GLAD YOU'LL HAVE HELP TO MOVE THE ROSE. IT'S HARD TO BELIEVE IT'LL BE COLD SOON.

LECATES--GLAD YOU'RE HUSBAND IS GETTING TREATED. SORRY IT GOT THAT BAD. PRAYING FOR A SPEEDY RECOVERY.

TONS OF RAIN HERE. REALLY WEIRD CLOUDS ROLLED IN YESTERDAY BEFORE THE THUNDERSTORMS IN THE AFTERNOON. VERY LOW TO THE GROUND AND OMINOUS LOOKING. WEATHERMAN SAID THEY WERE HARMLESS, BUT THEY LOOKED SPOOKY. STORM LAST EVENING WAS MUCH MORE SEVERE. LOTS OF RAIN AND WIND. BUNCH OF STICKS DOWN FROM TREES. I THOUGHT WE'D LOSE POWER WHILE I WAS CANNING SALSA. IT FLICKERED A COUPLE TIMES, BUT THE POWER STAYED ON AND I SUCCESSFULLY CANNED 5 MORE PINTS OF SALSA. MORE RAIN TODAY. OUR COMPANY STAFF PICNIC WAS MOVED INDOORS. HONESTLY, SURPRISED THEY WAITED AS LONG AS THEY DID TO MAKE THAT CALL.

PRAYERS OF HEALING AND PEACE!

EVELYN, SO SORRY TO HEAR OF THE TURN IN YOUR DH'S HEALTH---BUT DO HONOR HIS WISHES---YOU NEED TO HAVE THIS TIME TO SAY GOOD BYE AND GIVE HIM ALL THE SUPPORT HE NEEDS TO GO THRU THESE LAST DAYS. YOU WILL BE GLAD TO HAVE THE TIME TO SAY GOOD BYE. i KNOW THIS WILL BE A ROUGH TIME FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY--LOTS OF HUGS AND PRAYERS FOR ALL OF YOU.
NANCY, AGREE TO GET IT ESTABLISHED BEFORE THE COLD SETS IN.
MY DH ENDED UP BEING ADMITTED TO THE HOSPITAL YESTERDAY--HE COULDN'T PUT MUCH WEIGHT ON HIS FOOT AND i PUT MY FOOT DOWN TO NOT WAITING. I HAD NOT SEEN HIS ANKLE/LEG UNTIL THE EMERGENCY ROOM REMOVED THE SOCK----IT WAS JUST GROSS AND I DID WANT TO SMACK HIM FOR LETTING IT GET THAT BAD AND NOT TELLING ME! NEED TO GET MOVING AND HEAD BACK TO THE HOSPITAL.

EVELYN, I AM SO SORRY THAT YOUR DH WANTS TO DIE. I AM SURPRISED TO HEAR THAT THE VA PAYS FOR HOSPICE CARE. MY DH PASSED AWAY 5 & A HALF YEARS AGO, BUT THE VA WOULD NOT PAY FOR ANY HOSPICE CARE WHEN MY DH NEEDED IT. WE HAD TO GO TO A CIVILIAN HOSPICE CARE CENTER. I GUESS THAT THE VA HAS CHANGED THEIR POLICY ON HOSPICE CARE. AND THEY SHOULD. A LOT OF OUR VETERAN'S ARE PASSING AWAY AND IN NEED OF HOSPICE CARE, AS WELL AS ALL KINDS OF MEDICAL CARE. MY HUSBAND PASSED AWAY FROM ALS (LOU GHERRIGS DISEASE) AND HE WAS IN DESPERATE NEED OF MORE THEN JUST BASIC MEDICAL CARE. BUT THE VA DIDN'T PAY FOR ANYTHING THAT HE NEEDED. WE HAD TO GO TO CIVILIAN DOCTORS FOR HIM. BECAUSE OF MEDICAL BILLS, WHICH THE VA SHOULD HAVE PAID FOR SINCE HE WAS A 100% SERVICE CONNECTED PHYSICALLY DISABLED VETERAN, WE HAD TO FILE BANKRUPTSY ON MORE THEN $40 THOUSAND WORTH OF MEDICAL BILLS. WE TRIED TO PAY THE BILLS, BUT JUST COULD NOT KEEP OUR HEADS ABOVE WATER! I'VE SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU CONCERNING YOUR DH'S HEALTH & HIM NOT WANTING TO LIVE ANYMORE. ALSO FOR YOU & HIM PEACE & COMFORT. GOD BLESS BOTH OF YOU.

LECATES I KNOW THE FEELING ,,, INFECTION ANYWHERE AS A DIABETIC HAS TO BE CARED FOR.

AS FOR TRANSPLANTING ROSES, WELL I HAVE NEVER DONE IT, MY DAUGHTER HOWEVER HAS. SHE IS GOING TO TAKE THIS MINI ROSE AND TRANSPLANT IT EARLY ENOUGH FOR THE ROOTS TO STABILIZE BEFORE THE COLD SETS IN, I KNOW SHE CUTS THEM DOWN BUT TO WHAT EXTENT, WELL THAT IS ANOTHER QUESTION,, THE ROSE AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST CAME FROM MY HOUSE WHEN I SOLD AND IS NOW 17 YEARS OLD AND DOING GREAT, SHE TRANSPLANTED IN 2010. SHE USES PLENTY OF BONE MEAL,,AS SHE CUT IT DOWN LAST FALL SHE GAVE IT ( OH I WILL HAVE TO ASK HER) I RHINK IT WAS SULFER.

LECATES--PRAYING FOR YOUR HUSBAND! HOPE EVERYTHING HEALS QUICKLY.

MY NEIGHBOR DOES A HORRIBLE JOB OF WEED EATING. LUCKY FOR US, A CHERRY TOMATO PLANT GREW RIGHT BY THE FENCE ON THEIR SIDE AND THEY NEVER CHOPPED IT DOWN. I'M ASSUMING SEEDS FROM A PLANT FROM LAST YEAR TOOK ROOT. I NOTICED IT A FEW WEEKS AGO AND HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THE TOMATOES TO RIPEN. WELL, WE PICKED SOME YESTERDAY AND THEY WERE GREAT. THE PLANT IN MY GARDEN IS ALMOST READY, BUT STILL NEEDS SOME MORE TIME. PLANNING ON MAKING AND CANNING MORE SALSA TONIGHT.

STAY COOL AND HAVE A GREAT DAY!

NANCY, THAT IS THE FUN PART OF BEING A GRAND OR GREAT GRAND--BUYING STUFF THE PARENTS WOULD NEVER BUY---LOL
JOANNE, THINKING TRIM IT DOWN BEFORE YOU MOVE IT, BUT BEST TO LOOK ON LINE TO SEE WHAT ADVICE THEY HAVE FOR YOU. ALTHOUGH I BET NANCY WILL HAVE A BETTER ANSWER. I JUST PLANT THEM AND LEAVE THEM ALONE----LOL I NEED TO GET OUT AND TRIM OFF THE DEAD BLOOM PARTS BUT WITH THE HEAT AND THE MOSQUITOES, I HAVEN'T DONE THAT SINCE I GOT BACK.
MARCHEM, I HAVE MADE GRAPE JELLY IN THE PAST AND SURE DID ENJOY IT BUT LOST MY SOURCE OF FREE GRAPES SO HAVEN'T DONE THAT IN AGES. BUT I DO CUT AND FREEZE MY GREEN PEPPERS AND ENJOY THEM IN THE WINTER.
MY DH HAS AN INFECTION---WE SEE A DOCTOR TODAY FOR SOMETHING ELSE PLUS A SCAN OF HIS LEG, BUT HIS FOOT IS HURTING SO BAD THAT WE MIGHT JUST GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM AFTER THE SCAN BECAUSE I THINK HE NEEDS TO BE ADMITTED. HAVING DIABETES, HE CAN'T MESS WITH AN INFECTION DOWN THERE.

NANCY--HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUR GREAT GRANDSON. AT THIS AGE, THEY LIKE THE PAPER BETTER THAN ANYTHING ELSE!

TEENYSMOM--ENJOY YOUR TOMATOES AND PEPPERS. HOPE THEY RIPEN SOON.

LECATES--YES, WE OCCASIONALLY USE THE SALSA WITH CHICKEN IN THE CROCKPOT. IT IS GOOD, BUT I RARELY HAVE ENOUGH TO SPARE. MY FAMILY LOVES IT AND ITS A HEALTH SNACK, SO I CANNOT STOP THEM FROM EATING IT. I ALSO GIVE SOME AWAY AS CHRISTMAS PRESENTS. LAST YEAR, MY FAMILY HAD EATEN SO MUCH, I MADE SOME MORE SALSA FROM CANNED TOMATOES FOR GIFTS AND FOR THE FAMILY. DD IS STILL MADE ABOUT THAT ONE. SHE REALLY DIDN'T LIKE THE CANNED TOMATO SALSA.

JOANNE--I DO LOVE TO OPEN UP SALSA AND MY CANNED GREEN BEANS IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER. THEY TASTE LIKE SUNSHINE TO ME. I ALSO LOVE BEING SELF-SUFFICIENT AND BEING ABLE TO GROW AND PRESERVE MY OWN FOOD. WHEN I'M HEATING UP THE KITCHEN IN THE MIDDLE OF SUMMER, THAT'S WHAT I REMIND MYSELF OF.

HOPE EVERYONE IS HAVING A GOOD DAY!

MARCHEM, I BET THAT THROUGH THE WINTER YOU GET A GOOD FEELING EVERY TIME YOU OPEN A JAR OF SALSA, KNOWING THAT YOU MADE WITH YOUR OWN HANDS AND HARD WORK SOMETHING THAT YOUR FAMILY ENJOYS SO MUCH. LAST YEAR I MADE PICKLES AND JAM/JELLY FOR THE FIRST TIME, AND EVERY TIME I HAD SOME I HAD THE PLEASURE OF MY GARDEN ALL OVER AGAIN. IT IS A GOOD FEELING TO CREATE AND NOURISH AND SHARE LOVE THROUGH FOOD!

TEENY, I AM GLAD YOUR GARDEN IS FINALLY GIVING YOU SOME JOY!

I HAVE NEVER GROWN MINI-ROSES, BUT MY TWO ROSEBUSHES HAVE DONE VERY POORLY THIS SUMMER, AND I THINK I WILL DIG THEM UP AND MOVE THEM BEFORE FALL SETTLES IN. ANY TIPS ON TRANSPLANTING ROSES, MY GARDENING FRIENDS?

YES TIME SURE FLYS. HARD TO BELIEVE HE WILL BE A YEAR ALREADY. THEY CERTAINLY DON.T STAY BABIES LONG. I WAS A MEAN OLD GRANDMA. I BOUGHT MY GREAT GRANDSON HIS FIRST SET OF DRUMS. GRANT YOU IT IS FOR BABIES, MADE BY "VTECH" I AM ANXIOUS TO SEE HIM WITH IT, HE IS SO ADVANCED FOR HIS AGE (BET HIS MOM IS NOT PLEASED). I HAD NO IDEA WHAT TO GET HIM, IT HAS BEEN 23 YEARS SINCE I BOUGHT FOR A 1 YEAR OLD BOY, I ALSO GOT HIM PJ'S, THEY NEVER HAVE TOO MANY OF THEM.

NICE WEATHER HERE TODAY BUT HEADED FOR RAIN FOR THE NEXT 3 TO 4 DAYS, THUNDERSTORMS AND ISOLATED SHOWERS, SO WE WILL SEE, MY PLANTER WHICH IS HUNG OUT BACK HAD DRIED COMPLETELY, AND IT IS NOT DUE TO THE LACK OF WATERING OR FEEDING IT,, THE SUN IS JUST SO HOT

MARCHEM, SO GLAD YOU HAVE ENOUGH TOMATOES AND OTHER THINGS TO MAKE ALL THAT SALSA. i LIKE IT BUT MY DH DOESN'T SO i RARELY GET ANY. DO YOU EVER USE IT ON CHICKEN IN A CROCK POT---I HEARD THAT IS REALLY GOOD.
NANCY, GOSH, HAS IT BEEN A YEAR SINCE HE WAS BORN---TIME DOES FLY.
SEE, YOU JUST HAD TO WAIT FOR THOSE PLANTS. OUR CUCUMBER PLANTS ARE DYING OFF, TOO. AROUND HERE CREPE MRYTLES DON'T OFTEN COME INTO FULL BLOOM UNTIL ABOUT THIS TIME OF YEAR.

HAY THERE EVERYONE.

WELL, MY 2 TOMATO PLANTS & 3 PEPPER PLANTS (WHICH WERE NOT PRODUCTING OR EVEN GROWING) ARE FINALLY GROWNING AND EVEN PRODUCING. HAVE SEVERAL TOMOATO & PEPPERS ON EACH PLANT! I AM HAPPY ABOUT THAT? AND I HAVE JUST 21 DAYS NOW BEFORE I CAN HARVEST MY TWO SWEET POTATO PLANTS. I HOPE THAT I HAVE MORE THEN JUST A COUPLE OF POTATOES PER PLANT. MY OTHER 2 TOMATO PLANTS, THE CUCUMBER PLANT & CANTALOUPE ARE ALL DYING. I JUST A HANDFULL OF TOMATOES ON THOSE PLANTS, 4 CUCUMBERS & NO CANTALOUPE. (EXCEPT FOR THAT ONE THAT I THOUGH WAS A CUCUMBER. THERE IS ONE TINY CUCUMBER LEFT ON THE CUCUMBER PLANT, BUT AT THE RATE IN WHICH THE PLANT IS DYING, I DOUBT THAT THE CUC WILL GET BIG ENOUGH TO HARVEST.

ALL THE THINGS THAT YOU ALL ARE MAKING/COOKING SOUNDS SO GOOD.

I DEADHEADED ALL OF MY ROSE BUSHES LAST THRUSDAY, AND THEY ARE ALL IN NEED OF IT BEING DONE AGAIN. WITH THE HORRIBLE TEMPERATURES & HUMIDITY~IT IS A WONDER THAT ANYTHING IS GROWING. AND THE CRAPE MYRTLE TREE, IT IS USUALLY IN FULL BLOOM BY THE BEGINNING OF MAY. NOT THIS YEAR. I DIDN'T SEE ANY BLOOMS (OR EVEN BUDS) ON IT TILL CLOSER TO THE END OF JULY.

LECATES--THANKS FOR THE WARNING ABOUT SPARK SETTINGS!

TOOK DD FOR SOME BACK TO SCHOOL SHOPPING. STILL NEED TO GET HER AT LEAST ONE MORE PAIR OF SHORTS AND POSSIBLY SOME PANTS. I KNOW DS NEEDS SHOES, BUT OTHER THAN THAT, HE SHOULD BE READY.

SAUTEED SOME GARDEN YELLOW SQUASH AND ZUCCHINI LAST NIGHT. YUMMY! WAITING FOR A FEW MORE TOMATOES AND I'LL MAKE SOME MORE SALSA. I KNOW I SOUND LIKE A BROKEN RECORD, BUT WE GO THROUGH SALSA QUICKLY IN MY HOUSEHOLD AND I NEED TO MAKE AS MUCH AS I CAN TO GET US THROUGH NEXT SPRING.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!
