Hello everyone! As you read this will be my last post! I believe it's time to end it and I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I have sharing them with you! With that said here is the last one!

Sunday tips: I like planting in strawberry jars, but it can be difficult to water the bottom plants. My husband cut a piece of PVC Pipe about the depth of the pot, capped the bottom and drilled holes at different intervals up and down the pipe. When planting, place the pipe in the center while filling the jar with potting mix. Then pour water into the top of the pipe to water all of the plants.

DID U KNOW? De- grime a car's grille: after last weekend's road trip to visit relatives, the front of your car is covered with dirt and debris. To get it clean without a trip to the car wash, spritz a layer of nonstick cooking spray on the grilled; let sit for 5 minutes. The oil in the spray will break down the grime so you can wipe it away with a soft cloth.

I would like to invite my friends to another post that I share tips called " Valuable Tips to make Baking Easier" it's in the Love to Cook team,General Team Discussion Forum.

Sunday tips: A shoe caddy hangs in my garage to store garden tools, gloves, garden shoes and any other items that will fit in the compartments.

DID U KNOW? Simply secret to softer beach towels: There's nothing like wrapping yourself in a comfy towel to dry off after a dip in the pool, but lately your towels are feeling stiff. To soften them up,add 1/2 cup of baking soda to the rinse cycle the next time you wash them. The pantry staple will absorb the buildup of detergent and body oils that cause the towel fibers to lose their fluff.

I don't like peat pots. They never seem to break down in the soil and stunt the plants. I usually just tear them off the plants.

Sunday tips: a 2- liter soft drink bottle cut in half makes a great greenhouse. I put a soil-filled peat pot with seeds into a flowerpot set on a saucer. Then I water and cover it with the bottle top. The peat pot makes transplanting easy.

DID U KNOW? Each time you deflate your kids beach balls, tubes and floaties you bought for sunny days at the pool. The problem: each time you deflate the toys and fold them away, the plastic ends up sticking to itself, leading to rips when you try to blow them up again. To prevent this from happening, deflate the toys, then sprinkle a layer of cornstarch over the plastic before folding. The corn-starch granules will soak up any moisture and create a thin barrier that keeps the plastic from sticking.

Sunday tips: Save the silica packets you find in vitamin bottles and shoe boxes. Place one packet in a plastic bag with dry seeds you've collected from your garden. This keeps them dry and prevents deterioration,so more seeds will germinate when planted. I've kept seeds for several years this way.

DID U KNOW? A better way to pack boxes? Lay a piece of string on top of the closed box along the center " seam" before taping it shut, leaving a bit of string hanging over the edge of the box. Then when it's time to open the boxes, you can just pull the end of the string up and away from you- no searching for scissors or a knife necessary.

Another quick remedy for a bee sting is to take some tenderizer, add some water to make a paste and apply it---I have used this several times on myself and my kids and it really does work.

Sunday tips: to keep sunflower heads for winter feed, cover them with panty hose in fall. This will save the bulk of theses for the birds that stay in winter.

DID U KNOW? Soothe a bee sting fast? If you run out of first-aid ointment,a friend told me to cover the sting with a bit of honey for 20 minutes would help. I tried it, and it worked! It turns out honey contains anti- inflammatory enzymes that quickly soothe pain.

Sunday tips: pest-proof your plants? Your garden is full bloom and it looks gorgeous, but hungry deer and raccoons have been snacking on your flowers! To keep them away, scatter soap slivers on the soil around the plants. ( I heard deer do not like the smell of iris spring soap) when the animals catch a whiff of the soap, they'll think there are people nearby,so they'll steer clear of your garden.

DID U KNOW? Quick relief for a stomachache ? The dessert spread at your niece's baby shower was amazing, but after sampling a few sweets, you're dealing with cramps and belly bloat. To feel better fast, use both hands to apply gentle pressure to your lower back, on either side of your spine, for 2 minutes. Acupressure experts say stimulating this area, known as the "Sea of Vitality," relaxes abdominal muscles to speed digestion and release gas.

Sunday tips: In fall, don't pull out the dead annuals in your garden. They'll come out much easier in spring after the roots have rotted. If you cover your bed with leaves in fall, the annuals also help hold the leaves in place.

DID U KNOW? Keep a necklace knot-free! Unclasp the necklace, thread the chain through a straw, then ref astern and pack in your luggage. The long plastic straw will keep the chain from tangling.

Sunday tips: every summer I tAle photos of my garden. In fall, I mount them in a lined notebook and write comments under each photo. I record what I planted that year, plants I'd like to try and tips to improve next year's garden.

DID U KNOW? 60- second energizer you're wiped out after a fun day in the sun, but you still have to make dinner and do laundry. For a burst of pep, massage the webbed area between your big toe and the toe next to it for 1 minute. Traditional Chinese medicine experts say this increases blood flow to the brain, boosting energy by 50 percent for up to 2 hours.

Sunday tips: I plant dahlias, gladiolus and cannas in black plastic greenhouse pots, then set the potted plants into the soil. In fall,I just lift the pots and store them for the winter. This saves time and money. And it prevents me from injuring tubers and corms with a shovel.

DID U KNOW? The simple soak for younger looking hands? Soak 1/2 cup of uncooked white rice and 2 cups of water for 30 minutes, then dip your hands in the solution for 10 minutes. Rice contains vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that minimize sun damage, plus moisturize and tighten skin, leaving your hands feeling silky- smooth and looking years younger!

Sunday tips: Tie onions in old pantyhose, using a clothespin or twist-tie to keep them from touching each other. Then hang them in a cool dry basement. I've kept Vidalia onions for months this way.

DID U KNOW? Fast relief for achy legs? The afternoon you spent strolling around the outlet stores with your friend was a blast, but now your legs are throbbing. For relief, try this: lie on your back on the floor and place your legs flat against the wall so your body forms an L; hold for 1 to 2 minutes. This position drains fluid buildup in the legs to relieve swelling, plus it gently stretches the calves and hamstrings to recharge tired muscles.

Sunday tips: place unripe melons on small tin cans turned upside down- empty tuna cans work great. This keeps them off the ground, and the metal soaks up the sun's heat! I believe it helps the melons ripen faster and taste sweeter.

DID U KNOW? No-scrub toilet cleaner? An easy way to ensure your toilet sparkling between cleanings: remove the tank cover and flush the toilet. As the tank fills, drop 1/2 cup of baking soda into the water. The baking soda will settle on the bottom of the tank and every time you flush,it will mix with the water to neutralize odors and gently scrub away any grime.

Sunday tips: I found a good use for bird feeders that have been destroyed by our area squirrels. I clean them out, fill with potting soil and plant annuals or hardy ivy. They turn out really nice.

DID U KNOW? The at-home soak for stronger nails? Mix 1/2 cup beer ( it's silicone increases collagen production to fortify nails), 1/4 cup of vegetable oil ( it's hydrates) and 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar ( it wards off nail infections) soak nails for 15 minutes, then rinse. Repeat twice a week.

Sunday tips: don't cover a tree's root with dirt to add flowers because it can damage the tree. We encircled a silver maple with cinder blocks. Each block was filled with potting soil and four impatiens plants. Before you knew it,the shady spot was full of color, and it wasn't real expensive. Best of all,our tree is still healthy, too.

DID U KNOW? Keep bugs away naturally? Citronella candles are sure fire way to outsmart mosquitoes and other pests at a barbecue, but they can be pricey. A better way: add a few sprigs of rosemary and 2 or 3 slices of lemon or lime to a mason jar, fill with water and add 7 to 10 drops of lemon essential oil. Finally, place a floating tea candle on the water and light ( the heat will intensify the aroma). Insects detest the scent of rosemary and citrus,so they'll steer clear of your table.

Sunday tips: to lighten the load in large hanging baskets, use packing peanuts in a mesh onion sack to fill space. Use a soil-less planting mix around the peanuts and plant as usual. This method also works well in half whiskey barrels, large clay pots and in flower boxes.

DID U KNOW? In-a- pinch reading glasses: the next time you find yourself in the grocery store squinting at the label on a bottle of multivitamins because you left your reading glasses in the car, grab your smartphone and look at the text through the camera lens, zooming in until the words are legible. The camera acts as a magnifying glass to enlarge the words on the packaging. Genius!

Sunday tips: dress up rusty clothesline poles by wiring a trellis to each post. Work up the soil in front of the trellis or add a planter for morning glories. They reseed themselves and make my wash area look pretty.

DID U KNOW? Full, healthy hair-for pennies? Pour 1/4 cup of uncooked rice and 1 cup warm water into a spray bottle. Let sit overnight. In the morning, spritz the solution onto damp hair and style as usual. The starch in the rice water clings to each hair shaft, adding volume. Plus, the mix contains proteins and minerals that nourish damaged hair and give it extra shine.

Sunday tips: the best thing you can put in your garden is your shadow. Spending a lot of time there is the best way I know to fight weeds and pests.

DID U KNOW? Outsmart goopy lip gloss? You love the sheen of your new lip gloss, but it's so sticky that your hair gets stuck in it every time there's so much as a slight breeze. The fix: after applying the gloss, run an ice cube over your lips. The ice will thin out the sticky outer layer of your gloss for the color you love--without the goop.

Sunday tips: When you bring in cut flowers from the garden to make a bouquet in the house, always trim the stems on a slant or angle instead of straight across. This helps the flowers take in water because the stems are not sitting flat on the container's bottom. The flowers stay fresher.

DID U KNOW? Nix brain freeze fast! Nothing hits the spot on a steamy summer day like an ice cream cone- until you eat it to fast and end up with brain freeze. To ease the ache, simply cup your hands over your mouth and nose and blow on them as if you were outside in the cold. The pain of brain freeze is caused by blood vessels in the palate constricting, and this breathing trick warms the palate, dilating blood vessels to eliminate the discomfort in seconds.

Sunday tips: when planting gladiolus bulbs, tilt them a little. When the plants bloom, they will have less of a tendency to fall over.

DID U KNOW? Child- proof kitchen cabinets: to keep little ones out of harms way in your kitchen-- stretch a thick rubber band between two adjoining cabinet knobs. If the doors can still be opened, wrap the band around the knobs again. This tip also works on the bathroom cabinets, and it's simple enough for you to slip off when you need to access the cabinets.

Sunday tips: grandma's green thumb? When daffodils finished blooming,my grandmother would braid the foliage and tuck it under so it didn't interfere with other plants. She wouldn't remove the leaves until they yellowed,so they would feed the bulbs for next year.

DID U KNOW? Genius trick to mend a broken umbrella? When you notice that the fabric has detached from one of the metal ribs: cit a few lengths of waxed dental floss to 2 feet and use a sewing needle to thread the floss through the umbrella's fabric and tie it back to the spoke to secure. Sunday tips: save money by purchasing petunias late in spring. The flats I buy are half price because the plants are tall and straggly. Before planting ,I loosen the roots and cut the plants back, taking off most of the blooms. The petunias bounce back better than ever.

DID U KNOW? Wrinkle proof scarves? Wrap each scarf around an empty paper-towel tube, secure with a ponytail holder at each end and place in a drawer or a closet shelf. The cylindrical tube will keep the delicate fabric smooth and crease free so you can just pull the scarf off and wear it.

Great suggestions. someone gave me a lavender plant and I read that it is better to mulch around them with stones, not regular mulch---betting not many know that.

Sunday tips: a nursery worker told me to plant my Clemens and cosmos at least 8 inches deep. That way the crowns of the plants were at least 6 inches underground. Both plants bushed out and were much larger and sturdier, standing up to wind and rain without staking. They produce more blooms than usual, too.

DID U KNOW? Outsmart wall scuffs: the last time you pulled a nail out of your wall to rearrange your photo display, the claw end of the hammer left a mark on your wall. Next time, slide a sponge between the hammer and the wall, just below the nail, then press the hammer against the sponge as you use the claw to extract the nail. The sponge creates a barrier that protects the wall from scratches and indentations.

I read that baking soda can be used to prevent weeds---but not in with plants you want to keep---I had a box I was getting ready to throw away so I tried it---will let you know if it works since we just had rain and want to see if no weeds come up again where I tried it.

Sunday tips: A "seed board" helps me plant seeds at the correct depth. On a decking board, I planted the depth at which various seeds should be planted, from 1/4 up to 2-1/2 inches. I use the edge of the board to press down the soil to the desired depth. Then I just add the seeds and cover them with soil.

DID U KNOW? in -a- pinch corkscrew: if you can not find your corkscrew to crack open that bottle of wine? Grab a screwdriver and twist a long drew into the cork, leaving 1 inch sticking out, then use the claw end of a hammer to carefully pull on the screw. I tried it,and the cork popped right out of the bottle. So easy!

Interesting idea on the use of liners---good idea on those days when you know you are gardening and sweat will be the rule of the day---like yesterday here---I needed a liner in my hair, it was soaking wet when I came in ---and I wasn't out there that long---just over an hour---but it was super hot.

Sunday tips: don't throw away extra seedlings after planting what you need. Plant a few between your regular plants in case you need replacements. Then donate the remaining ones to a daycare center or preschool class. Youngsters love to learn about plants, especially if they get to care for their very own.

DID U KNOW? No more sweat? Place a panty liner in the armpit inside each sleeve, sticky side down to secure the liner to the shirt. The cotton liners will absorb perspiration, warding off stains.

That is interesting about oatmeal--I know that sprinkling cornmeal around ant hills does the same thing to them. I think I will try the oatmeal for the slugs---it won't hurt the soil if no slugs are around but have had them in the past---hate stepping out of the house and seeing or almost stepping on one.

Sunday tips: when planting morning glory seeds or other hard-shelled seeds, soak them in water for 24 hours. Then place them on a damp paper towel and cover them with another paper towel. Once the seeds sprout, carefully remove them from the towels and plant them. Seedlings should be popping out of the soil in a few days.

DID U KNOW? Banish garden slugs naturally: sprinkle a handful of dry oatmeal on the soil around your plants. When the slugs eat the oats, it will fatally swell up their belly, ensuring your blooms stay safe.

Reminder that you can plant those Easter lilies after you enjoy them inside---next year they will come back, but not at Easter---as they are forced to come early---usually the end of June---mine from last year is just starting to send up some green---later than my other lilies but that is okay--they are lovely no matter what time of year they bloom.

DID U KNOW? Get gorgeous hair for less? To add a bit of oomp to your locks, try this: shampoo as usual and rinse, then pour a cup of club soda over your hair. Immediately follow with a cool- rinse. Sunday tips: try watering hanging plants with ice cubes. As the ice melts, the soil absorbs the water, and it doesn't drip out of the bottom of the pot.

DID U KNOW? Get rid of garden pests: if slugs and snails have begun to nibble at your plants, try this to keep them away; fill a small bowl with cola and place near your most vulnerable plants. DID U KNOW? Stop fluffy from eating your plants: give her a few plants of her own. Set up a cat-friendly potted herb garden with plants like basil, dill or parsley, which vets say are perfectly safe for cats and can even help freshen their breath and boost immunity. P.S. always ask your vet just to make sure that these herbs will be alright for your little fluffy.

If you tell God no because He won't explain the reason He wants you to do something, you are actually hindering His blessing. But when you say yes to Him, all of heaven opens to pour out His goodness and reward your obedience. What matters more than material blessings are the things He is teaching us in our spirit.

Sunday tips: Don't throw away a bucket just because it has a leak in the bottom. Use it to water plants slowly. Fill the bucket with water and place it so the hole is near the plant stem. The water will seep out slowly, giving every drop a chance to soak into the ground right at the plant's roots.

DID U KNOW? Sharpen focus-stat: if you need to concentrate but your mind keeps wandering to your weekend plans, open both hands wide and let the corresponding fingertips on each hand touch for 2 minutes. Yoga experts say this gesture is calming and centering, helping to clear away clutter so you can focus on the task at hand.

This was sitting on my counter and when I cut into it that is what I found. I live in Central Florida so it could of been that I let it sit too long before using it. I did plant it and will find another one to plant in.

Now that is strange!
Learned at MG meeting that you can do starts from most of your houseplants with a single leaf.
Also, your plant can get sunburnt---that damage needs to be cut off---often happens when you move to a new location and it gets too much sun. Most houseplants don't want a lot of sun as they are often tropicals that grow under the canopy of the rainforest.
