I was planning to get the chicken coup cleaned up and the plants moved, but it took all day to do the chicken coup. We took down most of the chicken wire and doors, so tomorrow I should be able to scrub the inside and outside of the coup with multipurpose detergent. I think next week I'll get to the plants.

Keep saying I can do this!

Evelynn, I wish it is the last snow you get, I think you've had enough!

Nancy, it looks like bamboo, because it is segmented. It is prehistoric, because it has spores that make them regenerate, It grows very deep into the earth, which makes them hard to kill. Tomorrow Ill be digging them out of two areas where they are prolific. At least it is not the whole yard but it's enough work for me to last all day.

Keep saying I can do this!

LECATES, DON'T YOU JUST LOVE WHEN EVERYTHING DISAPPEARS?? I HAVE HAD THAT HAPPEN SO MANY TIMES AND MY DAUGHTER SAID I MUST HAVE TOUCH A WRONG BUTTON, emoticon WHEN IT HAPPENS I JUST DON'T FEEL LIKE RETYPING SO THE POST IS SHORTER.
I TOOK ADVANTAGE TO REORGANIZE THE CUPBOARDS AND ALL THE BAKING PANS ETC ARE IN A LITTLE CUPBOARD BESIDE THE STOVE,, SO HOPEFULLY I WON; LOOK FOR THINGS FOR TOO LONG,, I DON;T USE MY BIG MIX-MASTER OFTEN SO THAT IS IN THE CUPBOARD UNDER THE COUNTER, EASY ENOUGH TO GET TO IF I NEED IT.. TODAY I WANT TO WASH THE DRAWERS IN THE KITCHEN

MY GRANDSON CAME OVER YESTERDAY AND DID A FEW THINDS FOR ME, HE ALSO BROUGHT ME HIS VEST OVER SO AS I CAN SEW PATCHES ON BY MACHINE.. HE IS HEAVY METAL AND I TOLD HIM TO NEVER FALL IN THE WATER WITH IT ON CAUSE HE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT. emoticon I ALSO TOLD HIM TO BE CAREFUL WHAT HE POSTED OR SHARED ON FACEBOOK, AND I SHOWED HIM WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT AS HE DID NOT KNOW WHICH ONE I MEANT..HE SHARED ONE POST AND IT WAS VERY VULGAR, I TOLD HIM TO DELETE IT AS IT COULD COME BACK AND BITE HIM IN THE BUTT..

I GOOGLED HORSETAIL TO SEE IF IT WAS VERY MUCH LIKE BAMBOO. AND IT IS,, HOPE THE GARDENER CAN GET RID OF IT FOR YOU,, WHERE IS IT IN YOUR YARD?

WELL I HAD BETTER GET THIS DAY ON THE GO IF I WANT TO GET ANYTHING DONE

Looks like my Gardener is suggesting for me to take the plants I want out of the ground and move them, out of the area where the Horsetail is happily growing, so he can spray the area with a chemical to kill the Horsetail. Everything I've read and have been told is this is a prehistoric weed that is hard to kill. So I guess I'm going for an extreme solution.

Keep saying I can do this!

Nancy, I've heard of everyone using it for their lawn and plants, so it seems it's like a fertilizer, but it actually raises the pH in your soil. Since my soil is acidic, and it is clay, it will balance the pH. Horsetail thrives on very poor wet soil. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this will work. Also, it should help my Rhododendrons, since they always looked kind of malnourished, but flower every year.

Take Care!

DEB, I THOUGHT DOLOMITE LIME WAS A FERTILIZER;; GOOD LUCK WITH GETTING RID OF THE BAMBOO (OR WHATEVER IT IS CALLED)

ANOTHER BRIGHT BUT COOL DAY HERE TODAY, GUESS THIS IS THE DAY TO WASH THE BOTTOM CUPBOARDS AND REARRANGE THEM, THE STORAGE DRAWER ON MY NEW STOVE IS THE PITS, THE BACK OF IT IS NOT VERY HIGH AND AS SOON AS YOU TILT ANYTHING IN IT TO GET THE BOTTOM ARTICLE, THINGS END UP ON THE FLOOR UNDER THE STOVE, SO LIKE I SAID REARRANGE THINGS

DON'T WORRY, I DID TAKE IT A LOT EASIER YESTERDAY AND PLAN ON THE SAME FOR TODAY---I WAS SORE---DO FEEL BETTER THIS MORNING AFTER BEING IN THE POOL LAST NIGHT. IT TURNED REALLY COOL HERE AFTER THE HEAT OF TUESDAY---SO KEEPING THE VINCA IN THE BACK OF MY CAR FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS---I CAN OPEN IT UP IF IT GETS WARM WHILE AT SCHOOL BUT IT IS GOING TO BE OVERCAST AND COOL SO THEY SHOULD BE BETTER OFF IN THERE THAN OUT IN THE COLD.
NANCY, DID YOU GET THE FOOD FIXED AND FROZEN.
DEB, HOPE THOSE SUGGESTIONS WORK---WE ARE FINALLY SEEING IMPROVEMENT IN THE STUFF THAT WAS IN OUR BACK ALLEYWAY----IT WAS KIND OF THE SAME WAY HERE BUT WITH DILIGENCE, IT IS SLOWLY DISAPPEARING---BUT IT IS NOT YOUR STUFF AS IT IS HIGHER BACK THERE THAN OTHER AREAS ARE.
EVELYN, HOPE YOU CAN GET THAT LETTUCE PLANTED SOON.
I HAVE TO PROCTOR A STUPID TEST TODAY--BET THE KIDS WON'T EVEN TRY.
HAVE A GOOD DAY!

I realized this plant looks like bamboo, but it actually is called Equisetopsida, which is known as Horsetail Weed. Living in a wet state, with the soil being crappy, I looked up some ideas of how to kill it . One is to keep spraying the Horsetail with a chemical, the other is to change the landscaping so the water drains, add dolomite lime around the Horsetail, then wait a week or two, and add fertilizer. Every year this has to be done, until all the Horsetails stop coming up.

The things not to do which I did this weekend is, pull the Horsetail from the stem and dig it out of the ground, because the tiny roots will regenerate. Looks like I need to get me a bag or two of Dolomite.

Lecates,You sure did a lot of Gardening, it sounds like its going to look beautiful when you're done. I imagine after a long day in the yard your feeling a bit stiff. I know I usually do, but it takes me a day or two to recover. Take it more easier today, if you can.

WE ARE AT 3O DEGREES RIGHT NOW GOING TO 44,, YOU GUYS SURE HAVE NICE GARDENING WEATHER, LOL,, AND I DID NOT SENT THE COOL WEATHER SOUTH OF THE CANADIAN BORDER,, LOL

. I WENT SHOPPING YESTERDAY AFTERNOON AND BOUGHT A BUNCH OF MEAT TO MAKE UP THE INDIVIDUAL MEALS, SO OUT I GO WITH KIRBY AND THEN INTO COOKING

NANCY, THAT HAD TO HAVE BEEN A LONG BORING DAY FOR YOU---BUT AT LEAST IT IS OVER WITH---YIKES TO 4 DIFFERENT DROPS--I BALK AT HAVING ONE KIND---LOL---BUT I AM A SISSY!
EVELYN, OH, NO---THAT IS TOO MUCH---MAYBE IT WILL BE THE LAST
DEB, WAS IT ALWAYS NATIVE OR DID IT COME OVER AND HAS TAKEN OVER? I ALWAYS ASSOCIATE BAMBOO WITH WARMER CLIMATES ALTHOUGH I KNOW IT WILL GROW HERE AND, NOW THAT I THINK ABOUT IT---THE PANDAS PLAY IN THE SNOW AND THEY EAT PRIMARILY BAMBOO ALTHOUGH IT DOES NOT GIVE THEM MUCH NOURISHMENT.
WE HAD VERY HOT WEATHER YESTERDAY---INTO THE 80'S---I GOT A LOT DONE BUT NOT AS MUCH AS I WANTED TO BECAUSE OF THE HEAT--NOW TODAY IT WILL STRUGGLE TO REACH 60---A BIG CHANGE---THINK NANCY SENT IT DOWN TO ME--HEEHEE.
hERE'S MY LIST FROM YESTERDAY---DUG UP THE DIRT IN THE CIRCLE BED, MOVED IT TO FILL IN THE EDGES OF THE REPAIRED BEDS, PUT FRESH DIRT IN THE CIRCLE AND PLANTED FLOWERS THERE, CLEANED UP THE AREA BESIDE THE HOUSE WALKWAY AND PLANTED SOME NEW ITEMS THERE, PLANTED MY ORANGE GERANIUM IN A POT AND PUT AT THE FRONT STEP, PLANTED IRIS BULBS ALONG THE DRIVEWAY AND THE HOUSE, PAID A NEIGHBOR BOY TO PULL UP THE MILLIONS OF LITTLE TREES IN THE BACKYARD(BOY, WAS THAT WORTH DOING THAT), PLANTED IMPATIENS BACK ALONG THE FENCE, TOOK APART THE FOUNTAIN AND THE BASE IS NOW PLANTED WITH A COMBO FLOWERS WE SELL, THE VEGETABLES ARE PLANTED AND WE WORKED A BIT WITH THE GRASS SEED, HOPING TO SEE SOME GERMINATION OF THAT SOON. I STILL HAVE LOTS OF SPACES TO PLANT AND 4 FLATS OF FLOWERS TO PLANT---BUT THE VINCA CAN'T BE PLANTED FOR A FEW MORE WEEKS---GIVING THE TULIPS TIME TO DIE BACK MORE BEFORE I CUT OFF THE LEAVES.
HAVE A GOOD DAY---AT LEAST WE ARE GETTING A BIT OF LIGHT RAIN TO HELP WHAT I PLANTED.

Evelynn, Thought it got up to the 90's, we're back down to the high 50's. It's just up and down, with the wearing shorts to sweats. I know this is not a good comparison to how cold it is in Colorado, but it would be nice if we were all climbing to higher temperatures.

Nancy, Usually when I have my eyes done, it takes about an hour. They don't put the drops in until I get into the exam room and I only wait about 5 - 10 minutes for the Lab Assistant to do the pressure test, then the Doc pops in 5 - 10 minutes after that. I can't see why you needed to be half blind waiting for the doctor that long to get your glaucoma pressure test. I'm sure your Butt was real flat! I hope next year it won't take as long, and glad your eye exam went well. Driving home is not comfortable when your eyes are dilated and you have to wear your shades.
I'd like to see how the blankets came out.

Lecates, Bamboo is native to Oregon, but this year it has exploded everywhere in the yard. This is unusual! I bought some seeds from Burpee Seed Co. I ordered Asclepias Red Butterfly Milkweed, Chinese Lantern and Phlox( Multicolored). I'm hoping this type of milkweed is the right type. I'll have to look at other types that are native to our area. I'm also figuring I'll have to be very selective wear the plants are going to grow in my yard.

Hopefully the Low temperatures are starting to creep up, so everyone can get outside more.
Take Care everyone!

IT WAS A VERY LONG DAY YESTERDAY, LEFT HERE AT 7.30am AND GOT TO THE HOSPITAL AT 9.00 DUE TO TRAFFIC. BY 9.30 I HAD HAD THE FIRST SET OF DROPS, EYE EXAM AND THE PICTURES OF MY EYES HAD BEEN TAKEN,, THEN WE PLAYED THE WAITING GAME. IT WAS 12.45 WHEN I WAS CALLED INTO THE DR'S OFFICE,, THE NURSE CHECKED THE PRESSURE AND SAID THAT THE DOCTOR WOULD BE IN,, WELL HE SHOWED UP AT 1.50.. SO WAS MY BUTT FLAT?? YOU BET YOUR LIFE IT WAS, SO THAT WAS THAT FOR ANOTHER YEAR UNLESS I HAVE ANY PROBLEMS , THEN I HAVE TO CALL BACK... AND I ALSO HATE THE DARN DROPS.. THIS MORNING AS I TRIED TO OPEN MY EYES THERE WAS A CRUST, SO TEAR GEL TOOK CARE OF THAT

I STILL KNIT IN THE SUMMER, THIS IS THE SECOND BLANKET/THROW SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR AND I HAVE ANOTHER 2 TO GO,, THEY ARE TO BE CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR MY GRAND DAUGHTERS, SO I CANNOT STOP... I WILL TAKE A PICTURE WHEN I AM FINISHED THIS ONE

SEEMS LIKE YOU ARE ALL BUSY WITH YOUR GARDENS AND FLOWERS.. TOO DARN COLD UP HERE YET. RIGHT NOW IT IS ONLY 33 DEGREES.. I AM GOING OUT WITH KIRBY THEN I HAVE TO DO LAUNDRY, I WAS SUPPOSED TO LAST WEEKEND BUT DIDN'T AND NOW I NOTICE MY DRAWERS ARE STARTING TO LOOK EMPTY,

DEB, BAMBOO IS SUCH A PROBLEM---I JUST CRINGE WHEN I SEE SOMEONE PLANTING IT OR SEE A GROVE OF IT---IT IS DEFINITELY AN INVASIVE PLANT. I WILL HAVE TO SEE WHAT GROUND COVER WE HAVE AT SCHOOL---THERE IS A PRETTY ONE THAT FLOWERS IN THE LATE SUMMER THAT YOU MIGHT LIKE BUT CAN I THINK OF ITS NAME RIGHT NOW? NO.
NANCY, GLAD YOUR EYES ARE FINE AND THAT THE BLURRY VISION CLEARED UP NICELY FROM THE DROPS---I HATE HAVING DROPS.
I HAD A BUSY DAY OUT IN THE GREENHOUSES---BUT I MADE SURE I TOOK SOME BREAKS---IT WAS JUST THE TEACHER AND I FOR MOST OF THE MORNING AND WE WERE BUSY. I DID GET TO PLANT 2 POTS FOR A CUSTOMER AND ALSO FIXED 2 HANGING BASKETS AND MADE UP ONE---SOMETIMES WE HAVE BASKETS WHERE PART OF THE PLANTS JUST DON'T TAKE, SO WE ADD IN OTHER PLANTS TO FIX THEM. I GOT IN 7 MILES JUST ON THE FITBIT YESTERDAY SO YOU KNOW I WAS WORKING. I DID GET MY VINCA AND ALSO A TRAY OF MIXED STUFF I WANT TO TRY. I AM OFF TODAY DUE TO PRIMARY SO HOPE TO GET SOME THINGS PLANTED AND SOME WEEDS PULLED. ALREADY WASHED SOME STUFF THAT I HAVE TO PUT OUTSIDE TO DRY---BATHROOM RUGS AND MY THROW ON THE COUCH----THEY ARE ALL OUTSIDE NOW DRYING SO I HAVE BEEN BUSY THIS MORNING, TOO.
HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GOOD DAY!

Lecates, I do buy Petunias, every once in a while, but I've never experimented with them. Petunias are beautiful and there are many colors to chose , but the sad thing is they are Annuals. I'll probably pick up some for the front yard, since I've been mostly working in the backyard for about a month. I need to finish building the planter in the front.

I just subscribed to Burpees while I was looking up Petunias, too see if I could find some ground cover that could help keep out the grass and bamboo. I believe the reason I have bamboo is the swampy soil I have in some areas in my yard. We have a lot of blue clay if you dig down a foot into the soil. Normally I'll mix in good compost with the crappy soil whenever I plant. I've done that for over 20 years and I now have more worms in my yard than I started out with. I'm sure when they built these houses they took all the top soil and moved it to make a public park. At one time the land my house sits on, was a cow pasture. There used to be a Country Market and the area looked more wide open. Now builders have come in and squeezed in more Condos, and split properties to add another house using the same driveway. Someday I'll probably have to move, due to more traffic, unless they can detour some of the traffic. The whole city is building up so fast that they aren't considering changing the road system. The Planning Commission is moving forward to make our city more denser. I'm waiting to see someone Sue the city for an ambulance not able to get to the hospital in time.

Big News! Clint Eastwood will be moving to Beaverton, which is next to us, in Aloha, OR. I'm sure the house is going to be big, or he's going to have it built. They didn't say when.

The weather should be mostly cloudy all week with showers on Wednesday.

Keep saying I can do this!

NANCY, WE HAVE A NEW PETUNIA COLOR CALLED HONEY---VERY PRETTY AND DIFFERENT---A PROVEN WINNER BRAND---YOU SHOULD LOOK TO SEE IF THEY HAVE THAT IN THE CENTERS THERE JUST TO SEE THE COLOR. YOU WON'T BE CROCHETING ONCE IT GETS WARM, WILL YOU? MY GRANDMOTHER ALWAYS PUT HERS AWAY FOR THE SUMMER.
EVELYN, GLAD YOU GET A BREAK FROM THE KIDS ALL WEEK---ENJOY
DEB, I LIKE TO EXPERIMENT WITH A NEW FLOWER OR 2 EACH YEAR---DO YOU DO THAT? I MIGHT TRY SOME OF OUR NEW PETUNIAS AS I LOVE THE COLORS WE HAVE IN.
STATE TESTING STARTS TODAY---HALF THE KIDS WON'T COME UNTIL LUNCH TIME SO I WILL WORK IN THE GREENHOUSES THIS MORNING AND AGAIN THIS AFTERNOON---WE MIGHT BE BUSY AS IT WILL BE A PRETTY DAY AND WARMER THAN YESTERDAY.
GOT TO GET READY FOR WORK--HAVE A GOOD MONDAY

Nancy, I crocheted a blanket many years ago and it took me a whole year to complete it. It was my first one I ever did. I worked on it mostly in the evenings and I wanted it to cover a Queen size bed. The colors I used were white, blue and yellow. The blue and yellow were mostly a border on both ends with a white strip and the middle was all white. It sure does keep you warm in the winter time.

Still have some plants in the green house, but they are the flowers and herbs I started last indoors. All my planting is done, unless I see something else at the nursery. I also did some weeding and cut my grass, since I needed to move the greenhouse to cut the grass inside. Had a great day, lucky the weatherman was wrong about it raining all day.

Keep saying I can do this!

Nancy, The last big earthquake I experienced was a 7.0 earthquake in 1971, in Southern California. I was about 17 years old and it caused a lot of damage. Houses still were standing, but it was pretty scary. I can't imagine a 9.0 earthquake and a danger of a Tsunami.

My leg is doing better, I've been able to wear a sock that pulls above my ankle; Before it was too painful, near the bruise. The swelling seems to be going down, also.

Today, my hubby and I planted most of our veg's outside, except the squash and pumpkin's. The weather was scattered showers, so it was cool enough to ease them outside.

I also cleaned the exterior of the gutters so they will look nice when the roof gets replaced next week. We also got the sprinklers checked out so we can water the raised beds without watering with the hose.

My list of things to do is still long, but some jobs take most of the day. I hope I can get a cloud break tomorrow so I can get the squash and pumpkin's in the ground.

Keep saying I can do this!

NANCY, YOU DON'T MIND SUMMER UP THERE BUT I HATE SUMMER HERE, ALTHOUGH LAST YEAR WASN'T TOO BAD---I HATE HEAT AND HUMIDITY--WE NEED TO START SHOPPING FOR A NEW AIR CONDITIONER AS WE DROPPED ONE LAST YEAR---THE BIG ONE---BUT FIGURED IT WAS ALMOST TIME TO REPLACE WITH A BETTER ONE SOON ANYHOW.
DEB, NO, DID NOT HEAR ABOUT OREGON ON THE NEWS, JUST ABOUT JAPAN AND ECUADOR EARLIER THIS WEEK---WE ARE ABOUT DUE FOR A MAJOR ONE ON THE WEST COAST----THAT IS SCARY TO ME---WE HAD ONE A FEW YEARS BACK NEAR DC THAT WE FELT THE TREMOR EVEN HERE---IT WAS A STRANGE FEELING. I LIKE GOING TO THOSE CLINICS MUCH BETTER THAN THE ER----WE LIVE LIKE LESS THAN 5 MINUTES FROM THE HOSPITAL AND WE WILL DRIVE HALF AN HOUR TO THE SMALLER ONE IN BERLIN THAT RARELY HAS A LONG WAIT TIME EXCEPT IN THE SUMMER WHEN THE BEACH GOERS ARE IN TOWN---WE FEEL LIKE WE GET BETTER CARE THERE, TOO. MY GD'S MOM WORKS IN THE ER CLOSE BY AS A TECH, AND HONESTLY, I WOULD NOT WANT HER WORKING ON ME.
HEADING TO THE GREENHOUSES SOON TO PUT IN VOLUNTEER HOURS---EXPECTING TO SELL OUT ON TOMATOES AND MAYBE HANGING BASKETS---SUGGESTED WE PUT THE GERBER DAISIES ON DISPLAY AND THE TEACHER DID AND WE FINALLY STARTED SELLING MORE OF THEM----WE HAVE THE BEST PRICE IN TOWN BUT THEY ARE JUST NOT SELLING FAST ENOUGH. HOPE WE SELL A LOT TODAY.
HAVE A GOOD SATURDAY!

Nancy, That's one thing we can look back on, when we move from a house, all the trees that we have put into the ground. The fences and flower beds may change, but the trees will continue to have their place. I always defend the big trees, since some can be over a thousand years. People in Portland are now defending the trees more, due to the city growing way to fast, and more Condo's/Houses are filling up as much land as they can.

Our Health Care is good and bad, we have Urgent Care Clinic, that weeds out those that don't need the ER and it may take 15 - 45 minutes to see a doctor. I'm not sure why they couldn't have sent me to the Imaging Clinic across the parking lot to check my Gallbladder, which would have been faster than sending me to the ER. My insurance is Providence Health and Services, which it does cover visiting the doctor and dentist. I also have VSP for my eyes. The other plus is that they give $400 each for my husband and I to use for the pharmacy and any other related medical expense. Like most insurances, they don't always cover as much for serious conditions and certain drugs.

Its been said if we had a major earthquake, the hospital would not be able to handle the amount of injured people. So just stay put and have an Emergency Kit available. I imagine you've heard the news about Oregon having a 9.0 major earthquake. We have an area in the Pacific Ocean, called the Cascadia Subduction Zone. So there is a lot of work on retrofitting the bridges and buildings right now. Of course no one knows when it will happen, but many are getting prepared.

Lecates, I'll check on the pine trees online and speak to the nursery in Burns,OR.

Keep saying I can do this!

JUST PLAYED DUMB, I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT ON MONDAY MORNING AT THE HOSPITAL FOR MY EYES,, I HAVE SEEN SO MANY DIFFERENT DOCTORS I COULD NOT REMEMBER FOR THE LIKES OF ME WHICH ONE MY APPOINTMENT WAS WITH, SO I CALLED THE HOSPITAL AND ASKED. THE GIRL SAID "DON'T YOU REMEMBER?" AND I ANSWERED "NO CAUSE IT WAS MY DAUGHTER THAT TOOK THE CALL" DAHH THERE IS ALWAYS A WAY OUT emoticon

NANCY, I THINK YOU HAVE SPRING FEVER---LOL---GOOD IDEA TO HAVE SOMEONE GET THE SWING OUT FOR YOU---TIME TO ENJOY SOME NICE WEATHER FOR A CHANGE.
DEB, HERE IN THE STATES WE ARE USED TO GETTING PROCEDURES DONE PRETTY QUICK---BUT NANCY HAD TO WAIT FOR CATARACT SURGERY FOR ABOUT 9 MONTHS---SOMETHING WE CAN GET DONE IN AT THE MOST A COUPLE OF WEEKS HERE. IN SAME WAYS IT IS BETTER AND IN OTHER WAYS NOT----GOOD LUCK WITH THE PINES---CERTAIN PINES DO NOT TRANSPLANT WELL----MAYBE GOOGLE TO SEE WHICH ARE THE BEST FOR THAT.
EVELYN, GLAD THE SNOW IS ALMOST GONE.
MY STUDENT DISAPPPEARED ON MY YESTERDAY---I CALLED AND HE WAS WHERE I HOPED HE WAS, BUT BOY, AM I MAD AT HIM---I TOLD HIM HE WOULD GO AT HIS REGULAR TIME AND HE DID NOT LISTEN---HE IS NOT GOING TO BE VERY HAPPY FOR THE NEXT MONTH AFTER THIS ESCAPADE---GOING TO HAVE HIM SIT THERE AND DO BOOK WORK FOR THE NEXT MONTH OR OUTSIDE WEEDING ALL BY HIMSELF. SO GLAD I ONLY HAVE ABOUT A MONTH LEFT WITH HIM!
GOT TO HEAD TO WORK---RAIN IN THE FORECAST---HOPE IT HITS AS I PLANTED GRASS SEED YESTERDAY.

DEB.. WE HAVE A GOOD HEALTH PLAN HERE BUT IT IS SLOWLY GOING DOWNHILL. IF YOU GO TO PRIVATE CLINICS YOU PAY THE BILL(ANYWHERE FROM 100 T0 125 JUST FOR THE VISIT) ,, IF YOU HAVE PRIVATE INSURANCE YOU MAY GET 80% OF IT BACK.. BUT IF YOU HAVE NO INSURANCE (STRICTLY MEDICARE) YOU GO TO THE ER OR WALK IN CLINICS AND YOU WAIT..HERE IN QUEBEC JUST ABOUT ALL IS COVERED.. THANK GOODNESS AS IT WOULD COST ME CLOSE TO 300 A MONTH IN MEDICATION,, IT COSTS ME 55.. THE ONLY THING THAT IS NOT COVERED IS THE LANCERS TO CHECK MY SUGAR,,

MY DAUGHTER HAD BROUGHT ME A LITTLE PINE ONCE,, I DID LIKE YOU, INTO A BIGGER POT, KEPT CHANGING THE POT , PUT IT OUTSIDE AFTER ABOUT A YEAR AND WHEN I SOLD THE HOUSE 40 YEARS LATER IT WAS STILL THERE..

Nancy, I don't know much about the Health Care in Canada, but they always have said in the US that Canada has better service and coverage for anyone who lives there.

The weatherman was right! We did get Thunderstorms around 6pm yesterday. The clouds were so black, and there was a lot of thunder and lightening, with some showers.

My granddaughter had brought home a pine seedling, which I don't know what kind of pine tree it is. We transplanted into a big pot.

My new project is collect some pine cones and start up some seedlings for my property in Burns. I'll be growing them for the next 4 - 5 years to plant them on my land.

Have a great day!

GLAD HE GOT SOME HELP TO DO THE BEDS ,, IT IS ALWAYS APPRECIATED. GOODNESS THAT IS A LOT OF FLOWERS TO GO OUT IN A DAY,, AND YES YOU HAD BETTER GET YOURS

NOT TOO MUCH PLANNED FOR THE DAY EXCEPT MAYBE GET THE THINGS OUT OF THE SHACK , BRING THEM UP ONTO THE BALCONY AND WASH THEM,(THE FRAMES) DON'T HAVE MANY TO DO BUT THEY ARE BOUND TO BE DUSTY AND HAVE COBWEBS ON THEM.. I WENT INTO THE SHACK ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO TO GET A BAG OF EARTH AND MANAGED TO BRING IN 2 SPIDERS WITH IT,

TODAY IS TO BE THE WARMEST DAY OF THE WEEK SO I WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE NICE WEATHER AND GET IT DONE, I ALSO NOTICED THE OUTSIDE WINDOW LEDGE OF MY BEDROOM WINDOW IS QUITE DIRTY SO I MAY GET TO CLEANING THE WINDOW AND THE LEDGE TOO.. NEXT TIME I HAVE ANYONE COME OVER I WILL GET THEM TO GET MY SWING OUT FOR ME.

HAVE A GREAT DAY ALL AND TAKE CARE emoticon

CRUZ, GOOD TO HEAR THAT YOU ARE SAFE AND DRY AT YOUR HOUSE--DO YOU KNOW IF YOUR OLD HOUSE GOT FLOODED?
DEB, SO GLAD IT WAS NOT BROKEN--GUESSING THE CRUSH INJURY IS WHAT IS TAKING SO LONG TO HEAL---HOPE THE KNEE IS OKAY.
NANCY, HE HAS MORE ISSUES WITH HIS BACK NOW THAN HIS KNEE---IT STILL DOESN'T BEND AS MUCH AS IT SHOULD BUT HE STILL DOES STUFF. HE LIKES PUTTERING AROUND. THE 4000 IS THE TOTAL SALES FOR THE DAY IN CASH---TOO DARK TO PUT THE DOLLAR SIGNS IN WITH DH STILL ASLEEP---LOL
EVELYN, HOPE THE SNOW IS GONE TODAY
CAME HOME TO A NICE SURPRISE---DH CONTINUED TO WORK ON THE REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT OF THE FLOWER BEDS UP FRONT---A NEIGHBOR SAW HIM WORKING AND CAME OVER AND HELPED HIM ---SO HE GOT IT ALL DONE---NOW WE CAN PLANT THE GRASS SEED NOW THAT THE BEDS ARE IN---AND SINCE IT IS SUPPOSED TO RAIN TONIGHT, TODAY IS A PERFECT DAY TO GET IT INTO THE GROUND.
STARTING TO SEE BIG HOLES IN THE GREENHOUSES AS THE FLOWERS DISAPPEAR INTO CUSTOMERS CARS---LOL---I NEED TO GET MINE BEFORE THEY ARE ALL GONE.
HAVE A GOOD DAY!

Nancy, I see the doctor for my knee on May 4th. I am really glad that I didn't fracture my leg, my daughter is good at scaring me. She's the type that runs to the ER as soon as something happens. I just hate to sit in the ER for 5 to 8 hours.

Glad everyone's weather is getting better. Snow is the best thing for tulips, it allows us to enjoy the flowers for a while longer.

I think we all break down our body in some way, but Betty White still gets around pretty good in her old age. I hope I can keep going like her.

The nurse said the X-rays look good and I have a follow-up on my knee, with a doctor. She says my leg will take a couple of months to heal.

Back to the weather, we're supposed to have some Thunder showers, but the weatherman is not really sure. Rain is good after 2 days of upper 80 degree heat. I had watered the Greenhouse plants, but when I got home the squash was starting to pass out. So I watered everything.

Keep saying I can do this!

NANCY, GLAD THE CREAM HELPED---BUT KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON IT. THOSE THINGS HAPPEN WHEN WE GET SIDE TRACKED.
DEB, SEEMS LIKE ONCE IT GETS MESSED UP, IT ALWAYS IS THE LEG WE HURT AGAIN AND AGAIN. THE LEG I HAVE THE MOST PROBLEM IN IS THE ONE I ALSO GOT THE SHINGLES ON---AND I REALLY FEEL LIKE THAT CAUSED NERVE DAMAGE IN MY LEG.
EVELYN, GLAD THE TULIPS SURVIVED ALL THAT SNOW---HOPE YOU SEE ALL OF THEM SOON.
SPEAKING OF TULIPS, SOME OF MINE ARE STILL HANGING ON ALTHOUGH I DON'T THINK THE TOO WARM TEMPS THE LAST 2 DAYS HAVE HELPED THEM AT ALL.
WE SET A RECORD ON MONDAY AT THE GREENHOUSES--4000 FOR THE WEEK DAY AND I AM BETTING WE BROKE THAT RECORD YESTERDAY---WE WERE BUSY AGAIN--I CAME HOME HOT AND TIRED AND THERE DH WAS OUT IN THE YARD WORKING TO GET IT READY TO START THE REPLACEMENT FLOWER BEDS---SO I HAD TO HELP WITH THAT---WE GOT A GOOD START AS WE ARE NOT ONLY REPLACING THE LOST ONE BUT REDOING THE OUTSIDE OF THE ONES LEFT WITH NEW BOARDS--THEY DID NEED REDOING ANYHOW. I WAS SO ICKY AND SMELLY THAT I HAD TO TAKE A 2ND SHOWER LAST NIGHT AS I COULD NOT STAND MYSELF---LOL TODAY WILL BE A MORE SEASONAL DAY SO HOPING THINGS ARE JUST A TAD SLOWER FOR US IN THE GREENHOUSES.
HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GOOD DAY!

Lecates, I injured my knee 2 years ago, when I missed my step off the patio, looking at my 2 turtles. I landed on the knee, so its behind the knee cap that hurts. When I sit or walk too much it starts hurting. Now it hurts most of the time. One thing I'm starting to learn is to try to quit early working in the yard, because I end up injuring myself. I've always worked from 10am-6pm almost non-stop. Now I quit around 3pm and try to enjoy the rest of the day; Also I'm going out fishing more.

I'm hoping I have a bone bruise, since I was fighting with the Yard Debris can from dropping on my leg. I know I stretched a ligament that runs over the front part of my leg. Lucky the ground was mushy or I would have broken the bone.

Its going to be 86 degrees today, so I'm not going to be planting the seedlings. I was hoping the temperature would be around 67 degrees and then rain for the rest of the week. Tomorrow they call for Rain and Thunder in the late afternoon. I'm hoping I can plant a few seedlings before that happens.

Keep saying I can do this!

ANOTHER NICE DAY HERE TOO. IT WILL TAKE A WHILE TO WARM UP CAUSE OF THE DAMPNESS THE RAIN CAUSED YESTERDAY,, BUT WE DO NEED RAIN IF WE WANT THE GRASS TO GROW,
LECATES THE LAST TIME I WENT IT WAS $10, GOODNESS KNOWS WHAT IT IS NOW,

DEB, YOU TAKE CARE OF THAT LEG ,, DID THE DOCTOR GIVE YOU ANYTHING TO TAKE TO HELP IT ALONG?

I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO HAVE TO END UP AT A CLINIC FOR MY LEG BUT IT SEEMS TO BE DOING FINE THANK GOODNESS,,I WAS LOADING THE DISHWASHER, WENT TO GET SOMETHING OFF OF THE TABLE, GOT SIDE TRACKED, WENT TO DO SOME THING ELSE, CAME BACK INTO THE DINING AREA, PICKED THINGS UP OFF OF THE TABLE AND AS I TURNED THE CORNER TO GO INTO THE KITCHEN I FORGOT THE DOOR OF THE DISHWASHER WAS OPEN, WELL IT MADE A GOOD MESS. HOWEVER I WENT TO SEE THE PHARMACIST ON SUNDAY MORNING AND SHE GAVE ME AN ANTIBIOTIC CREAM AND IT SEEMS TO BE A LOT BETTER. ..SO YOU SEE DEB THINGS HAPPEN TO ALL OF US AND WE WAIT AND SEE.

WELL OFF FOR MY WALK WITH KIRBY, TAKE CARE ALL emoticon

NANCY, HOPE YOU GET TO GO BACK SOON AS IT SOUNDS LIKE A PLEASANT WAY TO SPEND AN AFTERNOON. IS IT VERY EXPENSIVE TO GO IN?
EVELYN, YOU DEFINITELY NEED TO KEEP THAT COLD AND THAT SNOW IN YOUR AREA!
DEB, DON'T BE SURPRISED IF YOU GET A CALL FROM HIS OFFICE SAYING THEY HAVE SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE BONE DOCTORS. BUT A CRUSH INJURY DOES TAKE A WHILE FOR THOSE TISSUES TO HEAL IS THAT IS ALL IT IS---AND PROBABLY WRENCHED THE KNEE WHEN YOU TRIED TO GET FREE---LET'S HOPE NO MENINCUS TEAR THERE. I BROKE THE TIP OF MY FINGER ONE YEAR---A CHAIR SNAPPED AND VISED ON IT--SO IT WAS TREATED AS A COMBO INJURY---BECAUSE THE SKIN WAS BROKE THEY CALLED IT A COMPOUND FRACTURE PLUS A CRUSH INJURY---THAT FINGERNAIL IS STILL WIDER AND WILL ALWAYS BE THAT WAY DUE TO THE CRUSH--AND THE FINGER HAD TO BE SET AND THEN QUITE A BIT OF PT TO BE ABLE TO BEND THE FINGER AGAIN AFTER BEING IN A SPLINT FOR 6 WEEKS.
ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL DAY ON TAP HERE---WE DID 7500 AT THE GREENHOUSES ON SATURDAY AND I AM BETTING OVER 3000 FOR YESTERDAY.
HAVE A GOOD TUESDAY!

Lecates, I can't remember why I didn't go to the doctor, except that I've been fighting the flu and then the stomach virus. I also was motivated at the time to get the weeding done for the gardener, no mater what my problem was. You're right I did put myself last to everything else. I have a mind of a 35 year old, in a 62 year old body!

The doctor will be getting the x-rays of my knee and lower left leg. He also said if my lower leg wasn't 90% better by June, that he wanted to see me. He says there is most likely blood that is inside that needs to come to the surface. The knee has had a problem since 2014 and it could be arthritis. Physical therapy and exercise didn't help.

Evelynn, I'll send you some Sunshine your way.

NANCY, THAT PLACE SOUNDS INTERESTING AND VERY BEAUTIFUL ---YOU SHOULD GO BACK AGAIN. GLAD YOU GOT SOME NICE WEATHER TO ENJOY. WE WILL HAVE 2 LOVELY DAYS --OF COURSE, WHEN i AM AT WORK---LOL---BUT THAT MEANS THE GREENHOUSES WILL BE HOPING WITH LOTS OF CUSTOMERS---WE WENT TO LOWE'S YESTERDAY AND OUR FLOWER BASKETS ARE TWICE AS FULL AS THEIRS AND LOOK BETTER---LOL NO WONDER WE ARE SELLING OURS SO QUICKLY.
EVELYN, OH, MY---WHAT A MESS!
DEB, YIKES, YES, YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN SEEN 3 WEEKS AGO---SHAME ON YOU FOR PUTTING IT OFF---BET YOUR DD FUSSED AT YOU. LET US KNOW WHAT THE DOCTOR SAYS.
WE DID GET THE WOOD TO REBOX IN MY FLOWER BEDS---DH PLANS TO GET IT DONE THIS WEEK---IT WOULD GO QUICKER IF ONE OF THE BOYS COULD COME HELP HIM OUT A BIT. I MIGHT TAKE OFF TOMORROW TO HELP HIM SOME PLUS I DO WANT TO GET THAT GRASS SEED PLANTED.
HAVE A NICE MONDAY!

Wow Evelynn! That's a lot of snow! Hope it doesn't melt too fast, since you'll have a flood problem.

We're now going back to rain on Wednesday to Sunday. I hope their wrong, which does happen a lot here. The mountains around us make it impossible for the Weather Reporter to be 100% sure.

I didn't get a chance to do everything I wanted to get done this weekend, but I did a little bit. My daughter had a Pampered Chef party on Saturday, and my daughter came over on Sunday. I guess I needed to kick back a little.

My daughter is thinking I may have fractured my leg, since the swelling has not gone away and I most likely also strained my ligament on the front of my ankle. I'll be seeing my doctor tomorrow, so we'll see. She was giving me a sharp needle test on my toes and I was telling her it felt dull, she said I should have felt more sensitive, since she was poking my toes pretty good. Its been 3 or 4 weeks since my little accident, with the Yard Debris can.

Keep saying I can do this!

THE INSECTARIUM IS WITHIN THE BOTANICAL GARDEN BUILDING, THEY HAVE A LOT OF PLANTS ALONG WITH TROPICAL FISH AND INSECTS,, I WENT ONCE AND REALLY ENJOYED VISITING, WALKING THROUGH THE GARDENS WAS FANTASTIC,, HOW THEY ACCUMULATE SO MANY BIRDS, BEES ,, BUTTERFLIES AND OTHER INSECTS IS BEYOND ME, THEY ARE RELEASED INTO THE OUTSIDE AIR,, SOME STAY WITHIN THE GARDENS AND ANOTHER COULD FLY ONTO MY BALCONY.. NO KNOWING WHERE THEY WILL END UP

GRASS SEED SHOULD SPROUT PROVIDING IT IS NOT SUPER HOT, GET THE SEED FOR THE APPROPRIATE AREA.. SHADY OR SUNNY,, BUT DO LIKE MY DAD ALWAYS SAID" PUT SEED DOWN FOR GRASS AND SOME FOR THE BIRDS"

DEB, GLAD YOU ENJOYED THE DAY YESTERDAY AND HOPE YOU GET OUTSIDE TO PLAY IN THE DIRT TODAY

CRAZY WEATHER HERE,, WE HAVE GONE FROM A WINTER JACKET TO A T-SHIRT IN 24 HOURS..WE ARE AT 69 DEGREES RIGHT NOW.. I THINK I WILL GET MY CHAIRS OUT OF THE SHACK AND SIT OUT IN THE SUN FOR A WHILE

NANCY, I HAVE A FLAT TOP--IT CAME WITH THE HOUSE--IT'S OKAY BUT WE WILL GO BACK TO A GAS STOVE WHEN THIS ONE GOES UP. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PICTURE OF THAT BUTTERFLY---HOW NEAT THAT THEY RELEASE THEM---BUT DO THEY DO THAT IN A PROTECTED ENVIRONMENT THERE?
EVELYN, OH,MY--THEY HAD PICTURES OF YOUR SNOW ON THE WEATHER CHANNEL---CRAZY
DEB, GLAD YOU ENJOYED THE FISHING LESSON AND GOT A NEW TOY TO PLAY WITH..
WINTERFLOWER---GETTING BEDS READY TO PLANT BUT NOT READY HERE TO PLANT. I JUST LOST A GOOD PORTION OF A FLOWER BED DUE TO HAVING MY SEPTIC LINE REPLACED SO THAT IS THE MAIN THRUST RIGHT NOW TO GET IT REPLACED AND READY FOR FLOWERS IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS. I DO HAVE SOME NEW BULBS TO PLANT THAT ARE DIFFERENT TO SEE HOW THEY DO---I LOVE EXPERIMENTING WITH A FEW NEW THINGS EACH YEAR.
THE SCHOOL GREENHOUSES WERE VERY BUSY YESTERDAY---BUT i WARNED PEOPLE TO NOT PLANT JUST YET, PUT THEM OUT DURING THE DAY AND THEN PUT BACK IN THE GARAGE OR HOUSE AT NIGHT FOR AT LEAST ANOTHER WEEK---ESP. THE BASKETS. OUR BASKETS ARE REALLY BEAUTIFUL THIS YEAR.
HOPING TO GO GET THE MATERIALS FOR THE FLOWER BED REPAIR TODAY---AND HOPE TO GET GRASS SEED PLANTED THIS WEEK---KNOW IT WOULD BE BETTER IN THE FALL BUT NO CHOICE BUT TO TRY TO GET SOME GRASS GROWING WHERE THEY TORE UP THE YARD.
HAVE A GOOD SUNDAY!

I'm stopping by to peek over the backyard fence and say Hello! I was looking to see if folks have been out gardening yet and what's up in the neighborhood.

I think I am going to go out and pull mulch off some of my perennials and keep my fingers crossed for great weather the next month or so! Maybe even give them a drink to help wake them up. It's been very dry here.

DEBDENSR71 great idea going to a fishing class and congrats on your ugly stick! I hope you are successful in catching some big ones this season!!

It was a beautiful day for fishing, had a class by the NW Steelheaders club and learned a lot of things to improve my fishing. I also got a new Ugly Stick fishing rod and some fishing jigs. Spent most of the time learning, so we didn't fish too long after that. That's OK! met a lot of nice men and women who enjoy fishing.

Tomorrow I'll spend working on the vegetable garden; It will be near 82 degrees, they say.

Keep saying I can do this!

NO LECATES I GOT A STOVE WITH THE COIL BURNERS.. TOO MANY PEOPLE I KNOW HAVE THE FLAT TOP AND SAY THEY WILL NEVER GET ANOTHER. THE STORES DON'T HAVE MUCH OF A CHOICE WITH THE COLI BURNER TOPS, MOST ARE ALL THE CERAMIC TOPS. AT MY AGE THIS IS THE LAST ONE I WILL BUY SO I GOT WHAT IS EASIER TO CLEAN , THE ONLY THING I DON'T LIKE IS WHEN YOU WANT TO CLEAN THE DRIP PAN UNDER THE BURNER IS THAT THE PAN AND RING ARE ALL IN ONE.

GLAD YOU ARE ABLE TO START USING THINGS IN THE HOUSE AGAIN,, I DID GET A COUPLE OF THE KITCHEN CUPBOARDS DONE, WILL DO ANOTHER COUPLE TODAY,, THE PANTRY WAS EMPTY AND CLEANED ABOUT A MONTH AGO SO THAT DOES NOT NEED TO BE EMPTIED, I DO THE REGULARLY ANYWAY

ON MY WAY OUT WITH KIRBY (LOOKS LIKE ANOTHER GORGEOUS DAY HERE) AND THEN I WILL SEE WHAT I CAN GET DONE. STILL HAVE THINS I WASHED YESTERDAY THAT ARE ON THE COUNTER, SO THAT COMES FIRST..

NANCY, GOOD IDEA TO JUST GET RID OF THEM NOW THAT YOU KNOW YOU REALLY DON'T NEED THEM. DID YOU GET A FLAT TOP COOKING SURFACE? GLAD YOU ARE FINALLY GETTING RID OF MOST OF THE SNOW---THOSE BIG PILES DO TAKE A WHILE. MY HOSTAS ARE SENDING UP THEIR SHOOTS HERE. MY LITTLE LILAC BUSH HAS STILL NOT BLOOMED---I SHOULD GOOGLE HOW LONG IT TAKES FOR IT TO GROW BEFORE IT BLOOMS.
EVELYN, OH, MY, SURE HOPE YOU DON'T GET SNOW THERE AGAIN
WHEN I GOT HOME YESTERDAY, THE PLUMBER WAS STILL HERE----THE CLOG WOULD NOT BREAK FREE SO HE ENDED UP HAVING TO REMOVE PART OF AN OLD PIPE AND REPLACE IT, THEN UNDER THE SINK WOULD NOT STOP LEAKING SO ALL THAT STUFF NEEDED TO BE REPLACED---THAT WAS ALL DONE WHEN I GOT HOME, THEN HE WENT AND INSTALLED A NEW OUTDOOR SPIGOT ---SO NOW I CAN USE A HOSE AGAIN THIS YEAR. FIRST THING i DID AFTER HE LEFT WAS SCRUBBED THOSE DIRTY SINKS AND WASHED UNDER THE SINK AREA----PUT A FAN DIRECTED UNDER THERE TO DRY THAT AREA OUT---THAT WORKED REALLY WELL DOING THAT--WE STILL HAD TO GO OUT TO EAT DUE TO THE STATE OF THE KITCHEN---HAD ISSUES WITH THE FIRST LOAD OF LAUNDRY---CALLED THE 800 NUMBER AND THE LADY MADE A SUGGESTION TO TRY AND IT WORKED---YIPPEE---SO I WAS ABLE TO DO 2 MORE LOADS AND RUN THE DISHWASHER LAST NIGHT---EVEN DID SOME CLEAN UP OF STUFF THAT HAD BEEN UNDER THE SINK. MY DH HAD BETTER GET THE REST OF THE STUFF CLEANED UP TODAY FOR ME---HE WANTS TO GO OUTSIDE AND WORK ON SOME THINGS BUT THE KITCHEN NEEDS TO COME FIRST.
SO GLAD IT IS FRIDAY AND I WOULD STAY HOME AND CLEAN IF MY STUDENT DIDN'T HAVE A TEST---I MIGHT LEAVE A BIT EARLY TODAY IF NO LATE CUSTOMERS AT THE GREENHOUSES JUST TO COME HOME TO WORK ON THIS HOUSE.
HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GOOD FRIDAY!

LECATES, PEOPLE DO NOTHING FOR NOTHING ANYMORE.. MY SON IN LAW EVEN HAD TO PULL IT OUT FROM IT'S SPOT AND UNPLUG IT BEFORE DELIVERY,, I TOLD THE SALES MAN I WAS ALONE AND HE SAID THAT AT TIMES THE STOVE COULD BE STUCK TO THE FLOOR, THE OILCLOTH COULD BE DAMAGED AND THE INSURANCE DOESN'T COVER IT,, AS FOR DELIVERY IT IS ALL DONE BY BROKERS,, LIKE YOU SAID HARDER AND HARDER TO GET SERVICE, BUT HAD I HAD MONEY IN MY HAND THEY PROBABLY WOULD HAVE DONE IT,, WE ARE TALKING A PLUG, emoticon BULL AS IT WAS THE STOVE COST ME $1,000

DEB GOOD LUCK FISHING AND GETTING THINGS PLANTED,, STILL TOO COOL UP HERE FOR ANYONE TO PLANT ANYTHING, THE SNOW HAS FINALLY MELTED OFF OF THE AREA WHERE I HAVE MY BIG HOSTA BUT THERE IS STILL PATCHES WHERE THE SNOW REMOVAL CREW BLEW THE SNOW INTO PILES, THAT TAKES LONGER TO MELT, BUT WITH THE TEMPS WE ARE TO GET THROUGH TO TUESDAY IT SHOULD ALL BE GONE

ON MY WAY OUT WITH KIRBY THEN I HAVE PLANS TO WASH THE KITCHEN CUPBOARD SHELVES AND DO THE TOP SHELF OF DISHES BUT THEN TOO THE DISHES ARE MOSTLY MUGS AND GLASSES THAT I HAVE NOT USED SINCE I SOLD THE HOUSE IN 2010 SO I MAY JUST GET RID OF THEM emoticon NOW THAT SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD IDEA

NANCY, THAT IS RIDICULOUS THAT THEY DELIVERED BUT DID NOT SET IT UP---I THINK YOU SHOULD CALL AND COMPLAIN ABOUT THAT SERVICE. HONESTLY, IT IS GETTING HARDER AND HARDER TO GET DECENT SERVICE ANYMORE---IT MIGHT HAVE TAKEN THEM 5 MINUTES MORE TO DO THAT. GLAD IT WAS NICE ENOUGH TO WALK TO YOUR HAIR APPOINTMENT AND LET SOME FRESH AIR INTO THE HOUSE---I KNOW I LIKE TO DO THAT WHENEVER I CAN. AND MY CATS LOVE HAVING THE FRONT DOOR OPEN.
DEB, MY, AREN'T YOU ADVENTUROUS----HOPE YOU CATCH A STEELHEAD AND ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE. WOOHOO TO BEING ABLE TO PLANT A FEW THINGS ALREADY.
ICE MELTING ON THE LAKE IS A GOOD SIGN---HOPING WE ALL START HAVING WARM WEATHER WITH NO DROPS OR YOYOING---BUT I DON'T WANT HOT WEATHER YET, EITHER.
THEY FIXED THE LEAK AND LEVELED THE YARD BUT DID NOT FIX THE CLOG OR PUT IN THE NEW OUTSIDE SPIGOT YET---TODAY THEY COME BACK FOR THAT---OTHERWISE THEY WON'T BE GETTING THAT FINAL CHECK UNTIL THIS STUFF IS DONE. THEY DID DO A GOOD JOB IN SMOOTHING THINGS OUT.
HAD A GOOD POOL WORKOUT LAST NIGHT---NEEDED IT AS I SPENT ALL AFTERNOON IN THE GREENHOUSES WITH CUSTOMERS AND THAT CEMENT FLOOR HAD MY LEGS SCREAMING AT ME.
HAVE A GOOD THURSDAY!

I planted a few more seeds to grow under lights for a few weeks. Today I did some more marigolds, delphinium, double columbine, savoy cabbage and mixed cabbage. I also transplanted peppers to larger pots. Spring has been variable so far but the ice went out on the lake during the night so that is always a good sign.

Nancy, Glad to hear that your son-in-law installed your stove. I guess you now need to make sure the store will have someone install the stove. They should have said something when you bought it. Hope you enjoy the stove.

Most of the time, I've bought local plants, since you expect the plants to survive in the area you live in. But like Lecates says, they always come up with a color or variety that you can't buy at the store. Shipping costs have always been high, but lately it seems they are too high. Another company I've done well with is Jackson and Perkins, they sell all types of roses, lilacs and begonias. I haven't gotten a brochure from them for quite a while.

Today is the last cold and rainy day and it will be heading up to 82 degrees. I'm going out fishing for Steelhead, on Saturday. This will be the first time I've ever fished for Steelhead. I'll be going early, so I can come home and transplant my seedlings into the Raised Beds. I have a big yard list of things that need to be done. Of course, if the fish start biting that could all change.

Keep saying I can do this!
