Sounds just like my mother's! Though if Nathan were to have a hand in it's assembly (literally it appears) I could be easily convinced that it was indeed very special!

Nathan Fillion’s Very Special Seven Layer Bean Dip recipe

Casserole dish for dip, and a strong chip like Mission Rounds. Dip is thick- will destroy lesser chips. Maybe stock up on Beano, too.

Layer one: Large can of fat free vegetarian refried beans.
Layer two: mix taco seasoning into low fat sour cream and spread over beans.
Layer three: four large diced tomatoes (use your jug dement for adequate coverage.
Layer four: Guacamole. (I use avocados mixed with Herdez mild salsa). Tomatoes will anchor the sour cream layer.
Layer five: one cute little can of diced green chilies. Suggest wee flinging through fingers for even spreaddage.
Layer six: one cute little can of black olives. Same technique for spreaddage.
Layer seven: shredded Mexican cheese mix. Or to taste. I use a whole bag.

STELLAR-LIGHTS - That looks like SO MUCH FUN! I'm not likely to make it, but it does look like a lot of fun to make and eat.

Seems to be a lot of recipes for Mudder's Milk - ALL very high calorie, some questionable as to taste. Here are a few.

from recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detai
l.
asp?recipe=1569933

Ingredients
1 litre (1 quart) soy milk, plain
360ml (12 oz) stout such as Guinness, or other dark, full bodied beer
64g (1/2 cup) wheat germ
112g (1/2 cup) brewers yeast
180ml (6 oz) grain alcohol or vodka to taste

Directions
Mix the soy milk, stout beer, wheat germ and brewers yeast in a 2 litre/quart pitcher, stirring well. Chill before serving. Now, either add the grain alcohol to the whole batch to achieve the 15% alcohol that Jayne mentions or mix the "milk" with vodka to taste. Serve in rustic pottery mugs and get ready to sing "The Hero of Canton"!

Dano's Mudder's Milk
DanoMoon

A very tasty little whack upside the head. This is in the Caucasian/Mudslide/BlackRussian drink family. If you love any of those.. this drink is for you. VERY yummy with any desert.

2 oz vanilla vodka
1 oz Creme de Cacao (If you have $$ use Godiva liquer)
1/2 oz half & half

1. Mix all ingredients in a martini shaker with ice...Do NOT shake (mucho foamyness) but swirl for a minute to chill.
2. Pour into martini glass and toast to Jayne... then toast to me!

Silicon Gulch Browncoats

This drink was served at SiliCon at a shindig hosted by the Silicon Gulch Browncoats and was very popular. Far more palatable than some of the other recipes for Mudder's Milk.

4 oz heavy cream
2 Tbsp Ghirardelli Hot Chocolate powdered mix
2 oz Kahlua

1. Heat cream in microwave for 30 seconds.
2. Add chocolate. Stir until well mixed.
3. Add Kahlua and stir.

I remember reading recipes on some of the fan sites some time ago. I downloaded the Browncoat Handbook by Lux Lucre some years ago and it has some recipes, mostly for drinks. Here's some food stuff:

Apples: A rare and precious fruit. Healthsome and good...be careful of grenades.

Strawberries: Kaylee's favorite!

Protein: In all the colors of the rainbow.

Good Dogs: Suspicious BBQ.

Mangos: Another good fruit.

Hot Cheese: Impressive and melty.

Wife Soup: For when "you've done good."

Free Soup: Abandoned Wife Soup.

Rosemary: "A man can live on packaged food from here til Judgement Day if he’s got enough Rosemary. "

Fresh Bao: A lovely treat, especially if made with love.

Being the geek that I am, I have been wandering around my favorite fan-sites, when I was struck by a thought. Are there any Browncoat (or possibly Alliance) inspired recipes created by the fans? With that thought in mind, I thought that I'd come on here and see what you all had to say on the subject.

...is what Mary said.
