I love firefly, and will have to look for wonder falls. I must admit that I was not a big fan of pushing daisies...

it's quirky, for sure. perhaps in a way that isn't for everyone. :) there's some faith and trust issues worked along side some hefty philosophical stuff. all wrapped around a love story with a dry self depreciating humor woven throughout. and sometimes its just silly. :) this is making me want to stop catching up on Battlestar Galactica and Doctor Who and watch Wonderfalls again!

Shomac - I remember watching the first episode of Wonderfalls WAY BACK - it has to have been years ago. Maybe it just wasn't my cup of tea - I didn't like it.

Inanimate objects talk to me all the time.

Usually SHOES telling me to buy them, or CAKES telling me to eat them, unfortunately :-)

I have not seen it but it has been in my Netflix queue for a while now ... I should move it up to the top of the list.

Since this team seems to be quite active today, thought I'd ask if anyone here is a fan of Wonder Falls, another great show that like our beloved Firefly got cancelled by The Evil Fox?

I don't think it was ever aired here in the UK, and in the US it was cancelled after only 3 episodes of the 14 were aired, so I've no idea how well known it is even over in the States.

The reason I came across it, and thought it was worth recommending to this team, was that it was produced by Tim Minnear (who also produced Firefly), who also wrote some of the Wonder Falls episodes, and a second Firefly connection is that Jewel Staite (Kaylee) features in 4 of the 14 episodes.

Just thought I'd post this as although Wonder Falls doesn't really fall into the sci-fi category, in addition to the Firefly connections for the "geeky" Browncoats like myself, I think it may well appeal to folks here simply as it's a good example of fresh, quirky TV writing, with brilliant zippy dialogue and unusual and creative ideas.

The basic premise of the show Wonder Falls is hard to do justice to in writing lol! But I'll give it a shot... It's the story of a girl called Jaye Tyler, the under-achiever of a super-perky, super-privileged, super-achieving family in Niagara Falls.

Jaye works in the "Wonder Falls" tourist gift shop, and her blah and boring life is turned upside down when the toys in the gift shop start to talk to her and tell her to *do* things..... bizarre things.... is she crazy or is something even stranger going on? Each episode follows another oddball quest that she's sent on by "the voices", with a cast of eccentric characters and unforseeable plot developments at every turn. It's really unique, sharp and fun and I thoroughly recommend seeking it out.

The main writer of the show - Bryan Fuller - went on to write "Pushing Daisies", which is probably the show I can think of that Wonder Falls is most like.... but IMHO Wonder Falls is better, it's just as surreal as Pushing Daisies, but the dialogue is sharper and funnier, and Wonder Falls is a little edgier somehow.

Anyway hope this isn't out of place to post here folks, just wondered if anyone else knew of it and loved it as much as I do!
