I am not sure if it would be healthy for kids to lose weight that fast. They still have a lot of development going on. You would also have to find another activities than the gym equipment because a lot of it is designed for adults.

I don't know - I'd imagine there'd be quite a lot of drama in a show full of slightly overweight 30 something women battling it out to get fit. I'd watch it. Heck, where do I submit my application?!

the first year they did a couple of "mini seasons" with families and other groups. maybe they should do something like that again.

but I'm sure there are many legal reasons not to have kids under 18 which is why Max wasn't on it.

You know, with the childhood obesity problem that is getting worse, I wonder if they'll ever do a season of only younger people---just not be so rough on them.

Like I said it wouldnt draw the audience or the sponsors but believe me it is just as hard for people to lose 20 pounds as it is for someone to lose 100 pounds. It is stilla lot of self discipline and hard work to lose that weight.

Smaller amounts are probably considered something that ANYONE can do. The morbidly obese really feel there is no place to go. Dieting for YEARS at 1-2 pounds a week as is recommended is not going to produce the results we see in a few months.

Losing over 100 pounds is very hard and truly life changing. I'm glad they give these people the opportunity to do this.

i NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT IT, BUT YOU'RE RIGHT...A MORE EQUAL PLAYING FIELD WOULD BE QUITE A BATTLE. BUT AS FOR THE 50# OR LESS, I DON'T THINK IT WOULD DRAW A VERY BIG AUDIENCE...WHERE'S THE DRAMA? I KNOW...LOSING THAT LAST 15 OR 20 IS A TERRIBLE BATTLE...BUT IS IT AS 'LIFE CHANGING' AS WHAT THESE PEOPLE GO THROUGH?

I think it would be good if everybody was "equal" too. like all females in about the same age bracket needing to lose about the same amount of weight etc. I know as a female over 50 I have a much harder time losing then I did when I was in my 20s

Or even ppl who only need to lose like 40 or 50lbs. Even at my heaviest, I would not have qualified for this show, but I probably could have used the trainers and the lessons learned at the ranch.

They would be even rougher on them I'll bet. I have seen trainers at the gym nearly kill some very in shape folks----it would attract an entirely different audience. emoticon

wouldnt it be fun to see a season of people who need to lose only 25 pounds. Just to see how they would work them out and teach them to eat differently than the very large. I know it would not get the ratings or the sponsors because it would not be as dramatic or necessary etc.. but it would be slightly fun to see the different approach.

I have been a big fan of the Biggest Loser for several seasons. I sometimes look at their weight loss and wonder how they can possibly lose that much in a week but then I have to remember that is all they do is exercise and eat right. Plus how they exercise...some pretty excrusiating stuff.
I think sometimes Jill and Bob are harsh but I also think that is what people need sometimes. Someone to tell them not to quit or tell it like it is. I am pretty sure that I wouldn't be able to do all the things they do but this show does motivate me.
