Good morning all! Just a quick hello before I'm off to work at primary job. I have gotten back on track. I had a talk with my partner about how we need to make changes in how we shop and how we cook. If everything is high calorie/high carb/high fat then it is not going to be healthy for either of us. Talked my dietician yesterday at Diabetic Expo that the hospital I work at sponsored and I walked away with an arm-load of recipes for us to try. Have an Incredible day People! Hugs emoticon

Good morning people! Sorry for not posting for a while. I got into a bit of a depression and allowed myself a chance to wallow in it. I gained ( I am at 316.4) and will change my page to reflect that. I think I need to re-read articles today and essentially start over from square one. One of the things that shocked me back to reality was seeing a picture someone took of me on sunday. I'm hideous. I have a lot of work to do. Got to make changes in how I look and reprogram my brain. Ok, I guess I need to brag a little. Last night was the awards ceremony for the Indianapolis Community Theaters. I was nominated for best actor in a musical and for best male singer. I won the award for best male singer. I was totally surprised. My thank you speech was short and a little emotional. I've never won an award like that before. I've been nominated before but never the winner. I was up against 14 other men all of which I think are fantastic. I've received a lot of comments from people saying how I totally deserved it and that they weren't surprised that I won. One of the other guys that was nominated told be that he was so glad that I won and that I was the right choice for the judges to have picked. I am still amazed and in shock.

Michael - what a bummer cancelling the gym membership. You might try another gym and get a free pass to check it out - the gyms near me offer two-week trial work-outs. Just turn them down after the trial period. It's free!

I am starting week 2 of Couch to 5k - so 90 seconds of running and 90 seconds of brisk walking intervals. Sounds like fun.

Chris, sadly I have been logging, but I have only been working out about a quarter my usual 5 hours per week this month! I had a change in schedule and it's really making it harder to get to the gym.

HAVING SAID THAT... I promised myself that starting this week, I would focus on opportunities to get the work outs in. Unfortunately, I believe you're right - we aren't going to make our goal this month. That's unfortunate, since last month we went way over our goal.

Canceling the gym membership tomorrow morning. I can't afford it anymore. This is really upsetting me. I've been a member for almost 3 years. I've been going regularly for 2 years. And of those 2 years nearly 5 days a week. Some people I know by name. Some I don't know by name. I'm gonna miss seeing those people everyday. I feel like I'm being sent home from the Biggest Looser Ranch and I have to make it work at home. I am going to be gymless for awhile but I am not going to stop exercising.

I just made the most delicious SUPER low calorie soup. It is simple and just takes a few minutes:

Vegetable stock (10 calories per cup)+ whatever veggies you have lying around, fresh or frozen. I used a combination of fresh chopped carrots and celery, and frozen sugar snap peas, a little corn and some asparagus.

Depending on the type and amount of veggies you use, it's a yummy low cal, warming way to eat a ton of veggies at once! My final product was about 80 calories for 2 cups!!!
